Been wearing this stuff for about 30+ years. Go through a bottle about every year or year and a half. I'm 59 and when I was in my teens and early 20's, I tried all the classics like Polo Green, Drakkar, Paca Rabanne, Quorum but this is the one I stuck with. In fact, when I get a new scent, I have to smell notes that remind me of Halston or I won't be interested. Something about it.
I still have my bottle that I bought in 1983. It's about 90 percent full, since I only used it a couple of times. A year ago, I decided to try it again and surprisingly it still smells nice. But, I don't have the latest version, so I have no idea how much it has changed. 😊
@@fragranceinstinct Yes, they do come through. I'm not really sure about the performance though. I'm not very good at judging that type of thing. If I had to guess, it's probably not as strong as it was 40 years ago. It's a 2 ounce splash bottle. 😊
I love Z-14. To me? it's a lemony green leather bandaid in the best of ways. Sadly, a bottle I bought online, and one I bought in a rack store a couple months later do not smell the same. The rack store version was noticably missing something in the leather, sorta like when soda begins to go flat. Z-14 and Paul Sebastian Fine Cologne don't look the same and done smell the same, but both remind me of the era when I was little and the big department stores, as well as trips to them, were a very big deal. Great review, Dave!
Thanks for sharing Russell! It's always extra special when a scent turns back the clock even for a moment. I feel that way with CK eternity and polo green.
I like it. Smells like fizzy coca cola to me. Then I read someone writing bandaid and it immediately hit me, This smells kinda like tiger balm 😂🤦♂️🤦♂️

WOW!! 1983?!! You are very lucky! How does it perform?? Does the oakmoss and cypress come thru strong? I always enjoy a nice green cypress.

Halston Man Amber is my fav from the house and it's Niche quality. If Jesus had a Signature Scent this would be one of them.
😄 what an interesting way of putting it
pretty sure Jesus' signature scent would be myrrh and frankincense
this is a blast from the past

Great review, thank you! Like you, I wear fragrances for myself most of the time. I prefer the classic scents. Thank you again!
I ordered a bottle a couple of days ago :)
Do let us know how you like it

The word your looking for is fougere - classic is as classic does - which Canberra said of the newer fragrances which all smell like Joop clones
It's a fougere type fragrance, which the new generation cannot appreciate because they love sugary sweet modern scents - besides, the bottle is ge
Great modern design which the modern men's scents can't compete with
