Fantastic video with precise explanation in layman’s terms. I know there are a lot of videos out there of guys explaining it, but its nice to have a home drawn, understandable wiring diagram specifically for my application
Good! Thanks for the feedback. I was thinking a walk around video might be a good idea but wasn't sure how well it would be received. Thanks for watching
I am putting a Cummins in a 2002 crew cab duramax. I wanted a simple wring system for a engine moving the LB7 pnto someone else. Great video. More of the 3rd grade diagrams would be nice.
Mine is trying to start but immediately dies. And I just checked the relay-it's good. I don't think I'm getting voltage to the connector for the FSS. But now I know better how to test and proceed. I think I'm missing the hold-up current, it tries to start. Thanks.
Hey Rico Maybe you could do a educational video on how to do the brake lines? Did you use the proportioning valve from the 95 donor or the stock one? Thanks for your time.
Can you give an explanation on possible causes for why a 12 valve will not shut off when turning the key off. I have to unplug the relay to get it to shut off.
So no matter how the colors are on the ffc plug the middle is the pull wire? On mine the red is on the outside. Also im just curious which wire did you tie into on your squarebody for the constant keyed source?
Did you ever figure out the problem , I'm dealin with this issue , the constant power to pin 30 on relay ,keeps blowing fuse , pin 87 on relay goes to red middle wire on the shut down solenoid.
Hey if you have diesel tractor that has a interlock module, if the solenoid shorts where it now has low resistance, can that cause your module to get messed up?
Hey bro really you are pro I'm Electrical Engineer we have for long day's a troubleshooting on our Diesel Genset Cummins Engine QSK-60 code of shutdown is : Fail to Start we checked all things when we connected Inpower Pro software it appear a hidden warning it's FSO Solenoid valve Failure we tested it no reaction but it has just tow pin maybe positive and negative for 24 VDC maybe it's body it's the ground? My colleagues told me they found 10 volt in permanent in this solenoid??? Plz I need your help
The plunger on my fuel shutoff solenoid won’t pull up, when I try to start it. But it will stay up if I manually push it up, while the key is turned on.
Yes there are 2 magnets in the solenoid. The larger pull in magnet and the smaller keeper magnet. If you have power to the pull in side then your solenoid needs replaced. The pull in magnet is bad Very common
Probably a silly question but when the key is turned forward to the run position should 2 of the wires from the solenoid have power at the same time??? I just started having an issue with my 12 valve last night to where the truck will start when im turning it over but as soon as I let the key go it shuts off.
2 possibilities. 1. The relay for the pull in circuit is getting weak or the magnet in the fuel shut off solenoid is going bad. Generally the solenoid is the culprit.
It sure sounds like to me John you are fighting a wiring problem. If it were mine I would do away with the factory wiring and rewire it like my diagram. It's been my experience if it's a mechanical fault the part simply doesn't work at all. If it's intermittent like you have it's an electrical issue such as bad wire corrosion loose connection etc
Question I have a barks tree cutter 240 with 220 Cummins it's a nightmare to expand it has 3 solenoids 2 near the motor 1 in front with master switch someone wired it wrong need diagram

Glad it was helpful!
I just lost the "pull" current on my '95 Dodge. Now I know where to go from here...brilliant...straight from the starter solenoid. Thank you.
Good deal! Glad to help! Thanks for watching!
Wow, you are a lifesaver! Wiring my 71 IH 1210 Cummins swap and I was stumped . . . Thank you! Thank you!
Need more of those 3rd grade pictures lol would like to see the crew cab walk around going over the install of the Cummins
Good! Thanks for the feedback. I was thinking a walk around video might be a good idea but wasn't sure how well it would be received.
Thanks for watching
@@RicosGarage I’d like to see a walk around too.
Thanks Rico, just what I needed to see for my Cummins swap. Thank you for your time and concern.
Thanks for watching! And thank you for the kind words.
Thank you very much for your help, with shut off solenoid for cummins diagram. It was very useful, greetings from guatemala city, blessings.
Thanks for watching! So glad the video was able to help you out.
You should do a complete wiring diagram for the 12 valve to the chevy definitely get my like
Good idea! I'll get to work on that and see what I can put together.
Thanks for the input and most of all thanks for watching

onto not onto sorry.
Yes would love to see the full wiring video.

Hey Rico

Did you use the proportioning valve from the 95 donor or the stock one?
Thanks for your time.
Auxiliary supply to solenoid should available full time or at the engine starting time only?
Can you give an explanation on possible causes for why a 12 valve will not shut off when turning the key off. I have to unplug the relay to get it to shut off.
Relay is probably stuck closed. Id replace it
Excelent video, thanks

Thanks worked first try 👍no mistakes🤣
My 30 amp fuse keeps blowing on the feed from the battery. Have any idea why it’s doing that?
I got same thing
Did you ever figure out the problem , I'm dealin with this issue , the constant power to pin 30 on relay ,keeps blowing fuse , pin 87 on relay goes to red middle wire on the shut down solenoid.
I only have two wires on the solenoid and only getting 8.5 g content to hold and not enough to pull back listed genset any ideas
how do you know witch wire is witch on the solenoid is there a test

Hey my truck pulls the plunder on fire up and drops the plunger instantly, has new relay & solenoid
Thanks for the video

I'm Trying to trace the pull hot wire it seems sometimes it works sometimes it don't
good job
I got a 97 pull wire won't pull up,I manually lift it up , it starts,couple days later,I works,same over etc
2 possibilities. 1. The relay for the pull in circuit is getting weak or the magnet in the fuel shut off solenoid is going bad.

@@RicosGarage I bought 2 solenoids, I had to lift up manually, today it works again,it will work for a while then same
@@RicosGarage Yesterday it worked fine today I go to start it no go had to open the hood lift up on the fuel rod I don't get it

Need schematic to stand alone wire for 24 v motor I’m pulling out of a school bus .
This morning it started right up then died then I'd be getting out and pull up on it after I shut the engine off it restarted
I took it apart to test it now it works fine it's gotta be in the wiring
Dyna problem respoy
