  • In today's video I set about lowering the footpegs on my Honda VFR1200X Crosstourer. The kit I chose to use was recommended by a fellow VFR1200X rider on one of the owners groups. I wanted to re-use the original pegs rather than buy aftermarket ones for more money. I think they look good. I have ridden the bike since installing them and they work a treat.

    This is a great’how to’ video. I’ve done these on a blackbird and any issues are fully described and resolved in this video. Well done and thanks 👍

    Hello, just purchased a 2016. Did you find that the lowered pegs were worth the conversion. I'm 6'2, 34" inseam.

      Hi, thanks for watching. I’m 6’4 with long legs and found it made a massive difference. Also because it fetches the pegs out a little it gives you more room on the pegs to actually put your boot on without standing on the poorly placed brake pedal. I’m more than happy.

    Great video thanks mate. Do you think those extensions are strong enough to cope with standing up with all your weight off-road? It looks like there's a bit more leverage that's all. Cheers

      Hi Russell. They seem up to the task for road riding. Off-roading I’m not sure. Like you say there’s a bit more leverage. Mine was tarmac only as a rule.

    @VFR Mitch thanks for posting, have you let the valves clearance done yet, is it relatively an easy task? or better leave it undone if no noise? thanks a lot

      I’m not even going to waste my time having her opened up . If it’s not broke don’t fix it.

    hi Mitch, did you ever made the works on the valve clearing check? Mike

    • @VFRMitch
      @VFRMitch  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      No. Bike is low mileage and valve check is not due yet.

    Hi Mitch, nice video, I habe 2 questions, how does the footbreak works? is it for you safe? 1. Q: from whom you purchased the sticker crosstourer 1200? link? keep working Mike

    • @VFRMitch
      @VFRMitch  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hi Mike, thanks for watching the channel. The Foot brake needs adjusting accordingly to maintain the same angle of operation. Hall stickers other than the tank sticker come from TS Custom vinyl in the UK. You can find him on Facebook. Stay safe

    Do they make those for VFR1200F as well?

    • @VFRMitch
      @VFRMitch  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      I’m guessing same ones. These are actually designed for a Blackbird

    New subscriber enjoying the content. Would it be possible for you to do a video in the future, with riding with dct , pros & any cons , reliability etc etc. Theres very little rider feedback videos on TH-cam...

      Thanks for watching Jim. A few rides are planned shortly and I’ll do my best to make some content relating to the DCT gearbox.

    Nice video. I'm a 1200 Crosstourer rider and it's interesting to see what other owners get up to. Keep up the good work.

      Cheers for watching. The lowering kit really makes a difference. I find my feet and legs are now in a more natural position. It would have been easier to buy some 3rd party pegs. I wanted to try and keep it somewhat original.

      I've bought the kit now, after seeing you fit it. Good call.
      I've also bought a 2nd seat which I've raised by 22mm to lift me up. (Having 2 seats allowed me to work on one while still being able to ride,) I've used a 20mm gel pad surrounded with foam and 2mm neoprene cover. With the seat up and pegs down this should make my riding experience much more comfey and .much nicer.
      Keep up the good work.
