Good luck to you. The joy you have is obvious. Getting a shop you can build a relationship with is such a core part of cycling. I've used the same shop here in Fife (Leslie) for 25 years and have always been treated as a friend as well as a customer.
Great vlog, great scenery, and a nice new bike. You have to treat yourself in life, go and enjoy spinning your legs and using your electric gears !!. Ride safely
The best bike shop in Scotland is Richard’s Cycles in Perth (IMO). Two of their employees are trained engineers and they have machine tools on the premises. They can design, make fix and fix anything when it comes to bikes! They have lathes, handmade, custom tools to do things properly; like removing stuck seatposts, a jig to properly measure spoke length etc. Not only that, their customer service is beyond compare. I have used lots of bike shops in all parts of the UK both for buying and repairs but Richard’s are the best. As Guy Martin would say: Proper!
@@bobwilkie5721 there is no other way to buy a bike now. If you are going to spend thousands you need to make sure it is the perfect fit. More bike shops need to provide this. This weeks video is will speak about it. An absolute game changer. I appreciate your comment ❤️
Congratulations on the new bike, a good fit makes such a difference. I’m a short-leg-long-torso gal and have recently discovered what a difference short cranks can make - I’m much more comfortable on my bike, nice to hear you are too.
Congratulations on the new bike and THANK YOU for bringing that bike shop to my attention. I’ve been looking for a bike fit local to me - and they’re a Pinarello dealer to boot. Bonus!
@@alanparkinson4568 I am glad I have managed to help. It really is amazing. I just wish I lived closer. Shaun, the guy who did the bike fit, really does know his stuff.

Happy new bike day. Just found your channel and subscribed. I’m currently looking at buying a new, endurance focused bike and the Pinarello X is on my list, along with the Canyon Endurace. Must admit though, the Pinarello is a great looking bike. Enjoy 👍
@@MrAnon-2024 yeah. i was stuck between those two as well. Direct to consumer worried me but if you are 100% sure on frame size and then getting a bike fit done locally to you would be a great option. Canyon endurance are top rated .
I had a bike fit on my new bike last week... I rode up and down a quiet road for an hour with a set of hex keys in my pocket - stopping every few minutes to use them and make necessary adjustments. Cost you ask? Sweet FA.🤨
That’s fantastic that you have the skill and the experience to know your perfect position on the bike. Unfortunately I did not have the skill to know I needed a shorter stem and cranks but now I know what I’m looking for I will in future. It’s a huge learning curve and I’m enjoying the process.
Hi glad you got your nice new bike and you enjoyed the first ride on it. If you have enough space in your house and spare pennies I’d recommend getting a “Winter Bike” with mudguards if you’re planning on cycling through the winter IF weather permits. That’s the Salt now going down on the roads and this isn’t good for a GOOD road bike it eats into your chain, Cassette, spokes etc. it means your good bike will last longer as well. 👍
@@scotiavelo1405 I’d love a winter/gravel bike but I am skint and probably will be until that one is paid off 😩. I might keep an eye on Facebook. No issues with space but i definitely need a bigger bank balance 😆 I definitely won’t be taking the Pinarello out now. I suspect he is packed away until spring.
Nothing like a new bike day! Those not riding 165 cranks have no idea what they are missing. I dropped to 165 around 7 year's ago and what a difference on comfort and peddling cadence/ stability.
