awesome. did not know there was one left in the USA flying. Theres videos from 2007 of the grey and blue painted Flogger, from Delaware I think, not sure if it's the same one or if that one is still airworthy. Fantastic video, super rare to see this......thanks
Hopefully, I will see it close and personal at the next "Wings over Houston" air show. We already have a Mig 21 privately owned, so this one would be a good addition. Being a dual seats, you can probably make some money offering flights too. A friend of mine did the Sukhoi flight in Russia. Obviously, before Covid-19.
It's a bargain. The guy who imported it in the US must have paid a fortune to get the FAA's authorization to fly it, since it was never certified before. Without the certification, the plane was virtually useless in the US. I am guessing that whoever got it in must have been someone from the US military. I am saying this, because I looked at importing a reformed battle tank from a foreign country in Texas and to get it on the road, I need several modifications.
I think it is possible if the runway is long enough. Saves a lot in fuel cost too. If this plane is owned privately, the financial aspect to maintain it must be substantial. Not withstanding that spares have to be imported from Russia.
@@p6x2 And you have like 30% to crash but it is financially acceptable :D . I will send you a story unfortunately in Bulgarian of an ex. pilot flying mig 23 where his engine shuts off by no reason like 4 times in a row doing a high altitude mission so flying this thing to save money is a risk th-cam.com/video/7MKGlVV5zP4/w-d-xo.html

This plane is now for sale for a cool $1.4M. Hopefully it can make its way to Oshkosh this year!
thats a good price, considering there are ga aircraft near that price, but maintenance must be outrageous.
@@МихаилВишняковский You'll burn through that in 200 hours on fuel and maintenance alone.
Also some madlad bought it. Shame, I wanted it lmao

Holy cowpies. That thing is swing wing, btw.
Why no afterburner? It is considered to be mandatory using afterburner with MIG 21 and 23
What a sound!!!
Very cool close up takeoff and great sounded loud mig 23 fighter jet
Take off without afterburner?

It's in afterburner, just a low stage. If you pause the video you can see it.
From far it looks like F-111 ^^
Id love to take some air to air photos of this bird.
