No it wasn't, I have pet attack macroed into one of my abilities and if I hit it when not engaged with a mob it just heads for the nearest target. I can usually pull it back in time when that happens but this pack was just too close.
Ya I usually do on bosses or harder pulls, but on regular trash Im far to lazy to swap back and forth so I just leave viper up and never think about mana.

you should try juggling aspect of the hawk and viper, hawk gives your pet more AP and you dont have to deal with the 10% dmg nerf to your attacks
