    So much work for just one skein! It really shows why it takes many weeks to process all the orders you receive. Not to mention when life throws you a curve ball (weather, illness, family priorities). Hopefully people will be more understanding now when they don’t get their self-striping yarn right away. Great video! Nice to see that you have equipment that helps you process the yarn “easier”. Repetitive motion injuries are no fun. Keep up the great work. 🧦🧶🌈🖤😊

    Smart smart lady!!!! If I ever hear a customer whine about the price of self striping yarn ima send them to see this video.
    Also having both of you in a video is a treat. Thank you!

    I too am a self striping yarn dyer (from England) & while our methods aren’t exactly the same I think it’s so fabulous that you’ve showcased the work & love that goes into every skein of self striping yarn 👏 your yarns are beautiful 😍

    Its so interesting to see your process. Also love that you are willing to share knowledge and help fledgling dyers. We pretty much already know dying yarn is not a part of our journey but its so fascinating to watch people do it.

    Dyeing yarn is such an intensive project, but self striping is ten times the work! I have been wanting to try dyeing some self striping yarn for myself, so this is very very very helpful! I would love to see the dye with me videos!

    Love the way you twist the skein. I struggle with that and mine end up limp and loose. Now I’m curious how you do your minis.

    So where do yarn dyers get their ball bands?

    • @PrettyTwistedYarns
      @PrettyTwistedYarns  8 หลายเดือนก่อน

      I found that they either print the bands themselves or purchase them from a printing company. I believe U-Printing, Sticker Mule and even Staples can print them for you 🥰.

    So for those of us who bought our skeins already huge and want to have 6/7 stripes is there a formula for where to put the ties ?

    • @PrettyTwistedYarns
      @PrettyTwistedYarns  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      How long is the skein? Depending on gauge, stitch count and needle size the rule of thumb is that 1 round of an average sized sock is about a yard. I will try to explain this in my next video 🥰

    • @ilaria298
      @ilaria298 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@PrettyTwistedYarns haha it’s complicated the skein says 6m and it’s huge, but I look foreword to the next video I really want to try self striping x

    • @PrettyTwistedYarns
      @PrettyTwistedYarns  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      It’s super fun!!!! I know I can explain it better in video than I can writing it. I’m vlogging through the week and will upload on Saturday December 4th. I’m pretty sure I know what skein you have. It’s probably long enough to do 2-3 stripes. I’ll help you figure it out 🥰🥰
