I got into Berklee in 2018, I was very excited but then I realized my parents and I could not afford it and I did not receive any scholarships which was disheartening. So I decided to attend UW Madison to major in data science while still taking a piano class. I just graduated in May 2022 and now I'm an intern for the Minnesota Twins baseball team!
Yeah it came down to lack of financial assistance for the astronomical cost of attendance. Such a shame that there’s a barrier to entry simply due to economical status and income.
Is there anyway to know if I am capable to get accepted by Berklee? geat video! Keep up the good work man!
Check their audition/application page on their website. It lays out what is required and what they look for.

To get into Berklee you have to pay?

I was just wondering if you could your works which got you into Berklee with us .
It would be very helpful for us to understand the quality of composition they expect from us .
I honestly don't know exactly which pieces I submitted, but I tried to be as varied as possible. I'm sure I submitted one of my first orchestral pieces: th-cam.com/video/eZWFiJ0xSWw/w-d-xo.html
It's not fabulous or complex, but it should my aptitude for orchestral writing and scoring. It also depends what track of composition you want to study (i.e. traditional, film, media, etc.)
Any could help me? I am an International student. I want to study in USA in Music Production. But I can't afford more than $10000-12000 tuition fees in a year. I need a scholarship also, could you guys suggest me which university will be best for me? thanks, advance.
do they check your gpa scores to apply???

So like any college, they'll use your high school transcripts which has your GPA on it. And I'd say its pretty rare to double-major at these conservatories if that's what you mean. But they have separate composition tracks you can choose, like only jazz, classical, film, electronic, etc. You would need to pick one and stick to it I'd say.

@@soundsbysisa There is a "professional music" major at berklee college of music. It involves basically all of the majors, teaching you everything so you can "pave your own way through the industry"
Hi, I am applying to Global Entertainment and Music Business School any ideas on question "What can I bring to Berklee?" except organizing activites?
Try to think of what value you can offer by being a part of Berklee. Like the impact you can make while attending there.

Yep! Scholarships are a thing for berklee but they are fairly competitive

Do you know if they give a computer? Also what daws do they use?
I'm assuming that they expect you to bring your own computer/laptop and your choice of DAW, but I'm not sure since I applied for the classical composition program.

You need a “Beklee Mac” that has some minimum requirements listed on their website. They do not allow Windows computers for some reason, I guess it is cause they primarily teach Logic Pro
I really want to learn music but i don't know much about music can you please tell me how can i get scholarship to study music or can you help me to learn
Everyone’s situation is different depending on how old you are right now, if you have any musical experience, and what your career goals are. If you have a few years until college, and you want to get a scholarship into music school, often you need to audition on an instrument. But for composing, some schools just want to see the pieces you’ve composed.
But if you’re at square one with wanting to learn “music”, I’d suggest picking up an instrument, maybe take private lessons to expedite your learning, and learning some basic music theory for free online.

Is it necessary to know staff notation to go to berklee?
Probably.
I am from india how can I get admission.
Also I haven't any savings so what should I do.
These schools are insanely expensive, so unless you get a full ride from being a prodigy virtuoso, you have better luck finding a cheaper music school/conservatory that'll teach you the same skills.
If im a really good singer songwriter do you think they'll accept me even if I have a bad gpa
Obviously I can't say for certain. While test scores, GPA, and overall academic performance isn't the main deciding factor in a school like Berklee, it for sure looks better having a good GPA. That being said, whatever you're lacking in the academic side can be made up in the "talent" side. If you have a great portfolio and can show them how Berklee will be best for your career as a musician, then that is also very good.
