On February 24th, 2022, Russia invaded Ukraine under the pretense of a “special military operation”, though it seems at this point to be a full-scale land, sea, and air invasion.
Defiant, Ukraine declares martial law and begins the defense of its territory. Meanwhile Ukraine’s allies begin extending sanctions against Russia and its citizens and institutions, with many countries (especially the USA) cutting off some or all trade with Russia.
Over the first month of the invasion, covered in this video, Russian forces pushed all the way to the outskirts of Kyiv, Ukraine’s capital. But already things weren’t quite going to plan…

US being angry because the EU doesn't sanction russia is such bullshit. The US did literally the same thing in irak that russia is doing in ukraine, so by their logic they should have also gotten heavy sanctions.
The only difference that it's a european country, so now people care. And since the US controls the narrative, the world cares even more.
US is like the popular kid that gets away with every bad thing it does, but russia is the unpopular kid, that gets shouted at when he does the exact same thing the popular kid just did.

1. Poland was super enthusiastic about helping Ukraine since day 1 even without other countries' influence (unlike France and especially Germany), wish there was more of that here
2. The Ukraine-Poland border part felt not super plausible since most men can't leave the country, although women and children can

Since the day this video was released (more or less) I have been watching this video over and over (I love it)... I'd like that "Mr. Spherical en Español" brother channel translated this into Spanish (and I have the feeling they will eventually do it) so I can show it to my "non-english speaker friends" without having to dub it "on the fly" while I play the video to them... if I had a good quality mic, maybe I would try to dub it myself and show it off into my channel (with proper links to the original source and channel of course)... just to show off that I can do it!... but maybe I just wait for Mr. Spherical Spanish to take their time instead... 😁
Another thing thats quite scary is if you look at pictures of Ukraine before the war there is a vast amount of lights in Ukraine,but after the start of the war most of the lights are off except at places like Kyiv and other bigger cities

Why would that be scary? It is known as basic military tactic to strike at the supply line. electrical factories and airports are all valid targets.

One of my friends moved to Ukraine in 2020 from the USA, he used to live near the border and when the war started, he and his family’s town was taken over by the Russian army, he had to move to Poland, he also called me when the town was taken, it looked super scary, buildings knocked down all of the stuff.

Well as a polish guy I consider it as almost true. Almost because without US UK and Poland, Ukraine would be long time ago finished while Germany delayed sanctions and military aid as much as they could for their frendo.
