    I just took a closer look at my Chinese clone unit to see if the drive bevel gear was not indeed supported on both sides. Mine is but a bright light and a feeler was needed to confirm this. Perhaps yours is too?

    • @TinkeringNerd
      @TinkeringNerd  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Thank you. For Y axis, you will need different mounting bracket, and the lever would be sideways. I think there are specific ones sold for Y axis.

    Hi. Very nice video. i have a STOREBRO Combi mill that has a x axis power feed origional but it is broken beond repair. so i am thinking on buying the same as you. bur i supose it is for bridgeport mill. so i wonder do you know the measure on the pin bearing ? on my mill the pin bearing is 1 inch

  • @jasoncox6245
    @jasoncox6245 2 ปีที่แล้ว

    Looking at getting one of these for our mill, but cant find the speed settings; do you know how fast each number makes it go(As in, #1 is 10 inches per minute, etc?) Thanks!

    • @TinkeringNerd
      @TinkeringNerd  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      The speed is not regulated and varies with load on the table. Digits on the dial scale are arbitrary. So, it’s impossible to guess the actual speed at any given moment. It’s all based on how it feels/sounds.
      Cheers.

    The kit you installed is it a universal kit or for a certain brand of mill?

    • @TinkeringNerd
      @TinkeringNerd  5 ปีที่แล้ว

      Most vertical mills out there are standardized as Bridgeport brand mills. The power feed should work on most any vertical mill. You could ask your seller if their power feed will work on your mill, to be somewhat certain.
      Cheers.

    What mill did you install the power feed on?

    • @TinkeringNerd
      @TinkeringNerd  5 ปีที่แล้ว

      It’s made in China with Taiwanese lead screws. It doesn’t really have a name.. just some model number. It’s 50x10 table vertical mill with square waves on y and z axis’. There is some more about it in my video about how I moved it and how I repaired it.

    I'm curious, would leadscrew backlash effect the distance between the pinion and bevel gears? Thank you!

    • @TinkeringNerd
      @TinkeringNerd  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Backlash is originating between the screw and the lead nut. There is no play between the screw and the table. So, no, bevel gear is not affected by the backlash.
