Aesthetics wise i am quite pleased with summer castoria which is pretty surprising, i am so glad she is st and not aoe because she for sure would of been stronger then summer ibuki, i'm also glad her special invul doesn't scale with oc and can't overlap with normal castoria, skill's aren't to crazy to aside from the 50% battery on 1st skill, all in all im quite pleased with summer castoria.
As someone who has always been suspicious of Castoria, I fully expected her to be broken, and very pushed; the question was always how. Of the reasons I liked Castoria, it was to the extent that she elevated old units I really like, like Vlad. Of the reasons I've been suspicious of her since her launch, well, Solemn Defense is one (we'll come back to that later). Others relate to the overall Meta for reasons that have been discussed ad nauseum elsewhere already. At minimum, we neither needed someone who power-crept Ibuki nor another Arts Support, and I personally didn't want her to be a Support at all. Not even a Quick Support, I want someone else for that. In hindsight, I feel like ST was the only way to go. I agree with Myst, if she was AoE that would be a problem. That 50%+20%=70% battery seems excessive, and I felt the same about Ibuki's 50% battery, but I do hear (and having looked into the numbers myself) that looping isn't necessarily trivial, since her NP gain is so low. If this is true, I'm glad she has that check. And at least there's precedent for such large batteries with ST Caster DPSes and Hephaiston. So there's that. I do appreciate the fact that they made getting the most out of her with the original Castoria require more planning than they otherwise could have. I've never liked the addition of Solemn Defense (personally I felt Evade/Invuln was handled wrong from the start; Dire Hit's interaction with Evade is fine, but Pierce should only work on Invuln. Then you wouldn't need Solemn Defense). So, I appreciate the fact that its primary limitimg factor is the fact it can't stack with or overwrite existing instances. In that sense Summer Castoria having just the one instance on her NP is almost more of a demerit, unless you're using her with other Supports. Aesthetically I do actually quite like Ascension 1 and 2. I like the Alice in Wonderland thing she's got, I tend to like that sort of thing. There's something classic about it. Finally, that she's a limited ST Arts Berserker does a lot to justify her existence and the strength of her kit. Vlad and Galatea both being permanent whilst she is limited definitely helps to justify her power level relative to theirs. All in all, I was concerned that she would be another Summer Ibuki and she doesn't seem to be, I like her better overall than what they did with Summer Morgan, so whilst might not seem like it, my current impression is fairly positive. Which, given what I was expecting, is quite the achievement.
Honestly I thought if she was an aoe it may have been another good option instead of ibuki I personally don't like ibukis design so I wanted someone else to be my meta farmer and hoped she may be it however I honestly believe we don't need powercreep on ibuki instead they could have done a summer kama/space ishtar where they are similar though I do agree buff tonelico
Yep her NP refund is lesser compared to Vlad and her damage is worse if she's not hitting her niche. Her kit is very loaded but overall she feels somewhat balanced, which is weird to say considering this is freaking Castoria we're talking about.

Personally, i would compare her skillset to jalter, cause all of those skills are similar to jalter in that exact same positions too, but jalter being a year 1 servant has the same scuffed skillset. Honestly i can say she's the new jalter (except for the atk stat) but much better

Yup definitely summoning for her in 2 years, was wondering if you could lead with SS Castoria's 2nd on Castoria for overcharge NP+invul thanks for mentioning that. A combo of Castoria and this SS Castoria is gonna be good, many a time I've used Castoria's invul for protection only for crits/NP to usually take me out soon after, SS Castoria means a nice free invul on the damage wave meaning more survival

Cool kit in the inval gimmick I can see a fun Situation where a break bar boss np spams and you can cycle supports making that a drawback but I wish the designs were a bit more unique. She's basically jarcher/bunnytoria with a lot less flair and those were years ago. The hat is probably the best thing

I have mixed emotions. Zerktoria is my fav Arthoria because zerker is my fav class and im happy because she gonna be awesome. But I kinda feel bad for Kriemhild because im looking for forward in rolling for her in n/a but i feel like once Zerktoria arrives Kriemhild might be benched.

I find her np damage weird. I've been testing it on hands and the damage is always different by a wide margin. Sometimes I get 66k sometimes I get 168k.

The thing with Single traget DPSs is a lot of them are strong, but only Zerks have class advantage over almost every other class. Not only that but her being Arts makes it easy for her to chain 3 NPs one after the other thanks to Arts having the best support in the game and being able to take advantage of all 3-turns of the standard duration of most buffs is great. Zerks' main issue is survivability but she herself has a lot of it tied to her kit, 1 invul on her skill, though mostly used for the Arts buff it can still be very useful, a Crit chance down on a loopable NP, so 20% is huge, and a passive that decreses her chance of receiving crit hits even more, and ALSO the 1 hit special invul on that loopable NP. Not only that, but her Caster self being her best damage and looping support also offers a ton of defensive utility, with all of them being arts helping in Energy refund (her Zerk form has also 2 Art cards as well to aid that). 50%+20% is fvcking huge for a battery, those being separated also helps in case her gains weren't enough and the 20% being targetable makes her so versatile in Hard content. But on top of those she also gets a great Crit DMG buff, absorb and NP gain which her Caster self would have already provided her, and the NP gain is team wide so supports can utilise it too. They also added a 2 level OC just for the sake of it (it would have been a great skill even without it but I guess they could have made that 5-turn then, which they probably didn't want) In terms of damage alone she gets: - 3 turn 50% Arts (exactly what the best supports offer) - 3 turn 50% Crit DMG (huge for a universal Crit up since 100% is only for Card type specific buffs) - 3 turn Absorption so she has no issue critting eith decent stars, so she's getting mileage out of her buff - 3 turn 10 star per turn (can't guarantee her crits by this alone, but paired with one 2030, or some other source it's gonna be very good) - two 1 turn damage buffs for 50-100% against two Traits (stackable) on a spammable NP that affects Face cards as well - a 150% additional damage to Threat to humanity She only lacks Atk buffs, which her Caster self can easily give that to her, and NP dmg up, which considering her kit she probably doesn't need starting gauge CEs at all so she'll probably always want Black Grail. Also with her append skill she can definitely also perfectly function in double core farming as long as there's 10% Charge anywhere
Seems like Proto merlin is her friend now, since it's awkward using her with castoria. So basically, her, Proto merlin and merlin/tamamo, honestly not a bad comp Also I'm glad ST NPs are making a return....and am I the only one who prefer her 2nd ascension more?
you need way more than 1 solemn defence in CQs, castoria will still be castoria's best friend, you cannot overshadow yourself. For 90++ nodes, you also need more than 20% battery on your supports, Summer merlin can never replace castoria except during advanced quests.

@@sorashizen5130 you must be new to FGO. Veteran players know that solemn defence CANNOT stack, if you use summer artoria then you only have ONE. solemn defence. You need castoria for MULTIPLE solemn defences in 1 turn against bosses

Zerktoria > Tonelico/Aesc imo. Love her AS2, facial expressions, and her T-pose. Quite possibly the best Saber-face servant for me

I don't know, she sounds like one of the best DPSs in the game to me
The thing with Single traget DPSs is a lot of them are strong, but only Zerks have class advantage over almost every other class.
Not only that but her being Arts makes it easy for her to chain 3 NPs one after the other thanks to Arts having the best support in the game and being able to take advantage of all 3-turns of the standard duration of most buffs is great.
Zerks' main issue is survivability but she herself has a lot of it tied to her kit, 1 invul on her skill, though mostly used for the Arts buff it can still be very useful, a Crit chance down on a loopable NP, so 20% is huge, and a passive that decreses her chance of receiving crit hits even more, and ALSO the 1 hit special invul on that loopable NP. Not only that, but her Caster self being her best damage and looping support also offers a ton of defensive utility, with all of them being arts helping in Energy refund (her Zerk form has also 2 Art cards as well to aid that).
50%+20% is fvcking huge for a battery, those being separated also helps in case her gains weren't enough and the 20% being targetable makes her so versatile in Hard content. But on top of those she also gets a great Crit DMG buff, absorb and NP gain which her Caster self would have already provided her, and the NP gain is team wide so supports can utilise it too. They also added a 2 level OC just for the sake of it (it would have been a great skill even without it but I guess they could have made that 5-turn then, which they probably didn't want)
In terms of damage alone she gets:
- 3 turn 50% Arts (exactly what the best supports offer)
- 3 turn 50% Crit DMG (huge for a universal Crit up since 100% is only for Card type specific buffs)
- 3 turn Absorption so she has no issue critting eith decent stars, so she's getting mileage out of her buff
- 3 turn 10 star per turn (can't guarantee her crits by this alone, but paired with one 2030, or some other source it's gonna be very good)
- two 1 turn damage buffs for 50-100% against two Traits (stackable) on a spammable NP that affects Face cards as well
- a 150% additional damage to Threat to humanity
She only lacks Atk buffs, which her Caster self can easily give that to her, and NP dmg up, which considering her kit she probably doesn't need starting gauge CEs at all so she'll probably always want Black Grail.
Also with her append skill she can definitely also perfectly function in double core farming as long as there's 10% Charge anywhere

you need way more than 1 solemn defence in CQs, castoria will still be castoria's best friend, you cannot overshadow yourself. For 90++ nodes, you also need more than 20% battery on your supports, Summer merlin can never replace castoria except during advanced quests.
@@watashielshaeddo5454 you'll have to use castoria's np 2nd then, that make only 2 stacks if not using amakusa CE, unless you use summer castoria's 2nd skill on her caster self...which won't always be available
@@sorashizen5130 You mean second after Castoria Berseker? Because that isn't going to work, similar to how two castoria (caster) NP's in succession don't work (the second one fails). The special invul can't stack/refresh, so it misses as it is already applied by the first NP.
@@sorashizen5130 you must be new to FGO. Veteran players know that solemn defence CANNOT stack, if you use summer artoria then you only have ONE. solemn defence. You need castoria for MULTIPLE solemn defences in 1 turn against bosses

Weird seeing she's actually good when the initial reactions I saw when I got up was that she was ass. Granted I'll almost never trust anyone saying someone's godly or terrible, but the only stuff I saw was negative to her and overwhelmingly positive to the other summer units
A lot of people hate popular servants. Imagine a servant with 70% battery, 50% arts up for 3T and two large power mod niches being called "ass".
