  • Plaster Creek tower was located at the east end of CSX's Wyoming yard near Grand Rapids Michigan. The tower controlled the Grand Rapids Terminal Sub from Seymour to Grandville and north to Fuller junction at the time of this video.

Me and my dad went up that tower before they tore it down and that’s why we loved going down there it was lots of fun busier back then but it’s really not worth going down there anymore. It seems time stays still down there and nothing happens anymore but I do enjoy seeing the older videos from back then

Evenings were always busy at Plaster Creek. With up to three road trains leaving east, hostlers moving locomotives at the engine house and yard crews.
I was down there recently, and I saw Y290, Y297, and M326 yarding their train not too bad.

Looks like it was a Hopping place at that time. It's ironic the first 10 seconds is the view you would have seen looking East from the hump Tower at the former Milwaukee Road yard in Milwaukee. Today it is all buried under 30 ft of dirt and is considered a Nature Center and part of a bike trail. I hope this area fared a bit better

The yard is still in use but much less activity. The Locomotive shop is no longer servicing engines. The yardmaster is now remote from Rougmere in Detroit.
