When a producer adds you on Twitter and immediately dm's you that "buy 5 leases $49.99" without even saying hi or checking to make sure I'm not already a producer.
#5 should be BeatsBySaif's method, the spam. I feel like it devalues your work and gets negative attention, which is a bad way to start a career. What do you think?
SOZZYLAND it may have gotten him quick fame, but many people hate the guy and it's easy to see that the negative attention he got didn't necessarily give him good fans
Aidan Fine I'll be honest, this is the 3rd time I've heard his name but it's all been pretty much the same feedback. I'd say that even if he is part of the 1% that finds success using that approach, it's still not an approach I would suggest with those odds of success
Curtiss King TV agreed bro, it's definitely got him success but it's just not right to be spamming people. The real truth is: GET YOUR MUSIC POPPING then you will inevitably get popping too. Positivity creates positivity, dope music is subjective, which is why if you create some dope music and even one person genuinely loves it, that person on his/her own can share your music to another person, and eventually it'll reach the world because the loop continues. It isn't easy but the truth is quality will find a way. Obviously promotion is important. But look at Fetty Wap. It took a year for Trap Queen to blow up. And I don't think he was spamming people for a year. The track was dope, and it found its way into the stream of good music.
With that said, justice doesn't always show face. You could make an amazing song and it might not blow up if you do nothing to promote it. That's why promotion is important, but it's not the first or most important thing to do. You need good music first. People sleep on that fact.
Really good points here, Curtiss. You definitely answered my concerns regarding that follow/unfollow nonsense. I agree wholeheartedly that genuine engagement is key. Thank you!
Curtiss King, you've been helping me get back on my grind, i took a couple days for myself and am currently building a website with your help. thanks for the motivation/juice
yo your videos are really informal and straight to the point being a new producer myself I write these things down and trust me I watch alot of videos and never take a single note much appreciated keep them coming
I hate it when people repeatedly send you ads for to get 50% 25% off on their Beats or they say I'm going to give you a free beat but they don't it was just to get you to their webpage or to check out their Beats.
I hate when other artist let ego get in the way of working with others..I try to support other artist nd follow them nd send mi invite so they can scope out mi music but they never follow mi page smh. We're all in it for the love of the art for real. That ego shish needs to be buried
thank you Curtis King one of your Inspirations is kind of pain off. that was be a help to someone and see what you can do to help them. I did that by helping my homeboy out by helping his brother out. that may help me land a job. thank you so much for the inspiration.
Hey Curtiss how about a video on how often producers should update their soundbank. I have thousands of sound but they're mostly free presets and factory presets. I feel like I've outgrown a lot of these sounds
Yeah the first few things Curtis mentioned and the one posted by Sean Elliot below, I'd never want to do them things anyway even without having seen this video of Curtis, because I really only want to get real organic fans and really only like getting likes and follows from people who really do like any videos, audios, or posts of mine.
i think responding to comments with emojis such as the 💯 one(just an example) can be a bit off putting in some ways because it just comes across generic and not genuine. some artists are very good at carrying out conversations and responding to others. I've had my fair share of both but then again I get some maybe too busy to reply to everything and everyone.
I usually hit them with that thanks for the follow, but I also listen to their music and let them know I like such and such song... if they are rappers and/or singers.... most people respond when you show interest in them... but that's only if I think their music is good I send them a message... And as far as comments.. of its just an emoji I usually think it's some auto generated thing along with likes... I dont respond to those unless we've had a convo before
I follow alot of people then show their content love & interact , compliment their work, take the time to know new people then they check mine out & the rest is history.
Definitely engage with supporters , I recently got a placement with Reggie couz - “Double Seaweed Deluxe” and the support I have been gettin has been crazy I’m still in disbelief lol went from 900 followers to 3k on ig in less than a month I been trying to reply to every comment and they really appreciate it and treat me like I’m some celebrity but I just tell imma normal dude working a normal job lol
I just released a music video to my latest single that I shot and edited myself. If anyone could take a second to check it out I would appreciate it. I'm open to work with other independent artists as well.
Hahahahahahhahahha i was laughing at number 1. This shit happens all the time on twitter
Talking shit about the barbecue had me laughing 😂😂😂
Everyone needs to see this. It's important!
"I'm too busy being great."
Lol!
Giving off free beats and services when you're starting out just to get customers. Thats poisonous. They want it for free forever if you do that😂😂
When a producer adds you on Twitter and immediately dm's you that "buy 5 leases $49.99" without even saying hi or checking to make sure I'm not already a producer.
NathanSynth yoooooooooo I HATE THIS! I'm a rapper, not a real producer. But damn, you can't just DM me a "hello" before throwing a price tag at me?

Aidan Fine and crazy shit is he's starting to pop from it somewhat..I've tried to be a spam god with no results...imo dude Comes off like a clown
