I had a class with an 80+ man and have also had class with someone under 17 LOL! I'm glad you enjoyed the interview boss :) should I do a part 2? or actually tour some apartment complexes near the university?
@@anotherfilmer Thanks for replying! I think that an apartment tour video would be wise. Preferably 2-3 apartments, the tour should show both single occupant spots and roommate dwellings. It would give a good perspective to most people of what to expect in apartment environments around the area.
Wow! These are great questions to ask people on campus since it answers a lot of our questions as potential students. You are a great host/interviewer and I hope you do more of these videos. Maybe a costs list of apartments, areas, types of getting to the campus, tips from other students, how to get an apartment with little to no credit score, where to find roommates if either on a website or on the campus with either housing or thru word of mouth, how much does a student need to make with a job to attend school and to pass the classes without extra stress, places to visit around the city of the campus, and how to eat cheap by not breaking the bank account.
Tanks for putting this together. My daughter is in the process of going to Full Sail. She has to graduate from HS first obviously, but she will be attending shortly after. My wife and daughter toured the campus last weekend and they found it to be really nice, like you showed here. The housing situation is a bit off-putting for me, but understandable, and since there are apartment options rather close, I am comfortable with that situation. But I would honestly rather have her within a short walking distance, so we don't need to worry about a vehicle and everything else that comes with that. Regardless, I look forward to watching more of your videos and hope to see more on Full Sail, your experience and growth throughout the process as well as hearing from other students, both their good experiences and their not so good.
Hey brother thank you for the encouragement just love sharing the experience for those who will come after me. When I was about to attend I also researched by watching students who were current students. As a young adult, your daughter will benefit way more from the experience of being able to have her own apartment rather than attending an university that forces all their students into dorms and randomly assigns roommates, where all that happens is partying and security enforcing a bunch of rules making it feel like a military barrack. At first I also craved the typical college life experience, but going to Full Sail they promise a real world experience with industry standard equipment.. I believe this also applies with the housing situation as it allows straight out of high school students mature faster and quickly discover the reality of taking care of themselves with organization, scheduling, time management, responsibilities, and professionalism. It is satisfying to know that the university allows the students to scrub through a list of possible roommates and read their biographies/about them in order to understand if they would be compatible with one another... or if personal alone space is more of a priority they also have that opportunity. With this where applicable, I highly recommend if you daughter does not plan on having transportation; an apartment within walking distance will be the best option.. but also insuring it is within walking proximity to a grocery story (Walmart, target, etc.) and also near a public transportation bus route if she ever wants to jump on the bus to travel around the Central Florida area. If possible.. get her a cheap form of transportation like a scooter or bike to make it more fun to get around. Many students ride around on electrical scooters and bring them inside the classroom to charge. Depending on the degree program there will be times where getting around town in a vehicle is very much needed to collaborate on projects and class assignments. I also find myself leaving Winter Park almost daily for leisure and entertainment for things like: Church, Barber Shop, Mall, Downtown Orlando, Parks, Walking trails, Springs, theme parks, beaches, restaurants, Disney Springs, City Walk, and much more!

Don't worry too much about moving to an unfamiliar area.. Make sure your money is right and be a good steward of it, live within your means, and have a fun time!

@@reckonedyt so as an area the area isn't all that bad. everything you need is within walking distance of the school and surrounding apartments. if you are worried about living expenses, I would consider finding 2 roommates though, as apartment rent has gotten a little high, currently me and my two roommates pay about 700 each just on rent. thankfully rent includes internet but that's about it. electric and water are paid separate. as for the program, be prepared for a lot to be thrown at you at once. Game dev isn't one of the larger programs, but it is definitely one of the most intense ones. for reference when I started on the actual game dev route, there was about 20 - 30 students in my same month program track on campus, now being where I'm at there are 4 campus students. Hey thank you for stopping by I hope the video was helpful in understanding the housing situation for this university a little bit better. Moving from Michigan to Florida is for sure a big move but also not an impossible journey. Pray about it and ask God to make the plan he has to prosper you be known more clearly for you and your family. I have minimal experience with Section 8 as I've worked for U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development doing custodial services for move outs in my hometown... but I did some research to try to better help you and I discovered a housing website: affordablehousing.com where if you select Winter Park, Florida and under filters at the top you select: Experience with Section 8/ HCV and search you will get a few results of complexes that will most likely have an employ that has experience. I would say call those numbers with general questions regarding the living rules for the area and transferring benefits. I would absolutely also call the housing department at Full Sail University and explain to them your concerns because they are very very good at accommodating you and connecting you with the right people. They helped me out A LOT with making the transition from the military to civilian side seem easy!

Before You go to Fullsail (for film or music) You should be aware that the School is NOT regionally accredited, You NEED to do the extra work to get the full learning experiences. Even if You do do everything You're not getting anything above entry-level because Employers would rather hire someone that took an apprenticeship instead of degree. From what I’ve heard through a rep, yes they do. She said there are students who just live off their financial aid the whole time they are a student so they can just focus on school and not have to work. Definitely ask a rep more about it though!
I moved top floor, right side of me is someone who goes to fullsail for music, under me is someone who is at fullsail for music. Bass vibrating the apartment most hours of the day and sadly night, up to 3AM. most reports do nothing and the one I spoke to and we came to an agreement but the other person is a lost cause. Its not their faults, the building is way too thin with their walls where I can hear convos and dirty deeds getting done through the walls if my apartment is quiet. 2 Cockroaches spotted so far and my bathroom sink has micro bugs that come out of the facet when you turn the water on. I learned this when i was brushing my teeth one morning. Office called bug man and all he did was spray the floor lmao....... The bugs are in the plumbing. Litter is in the ponds showcased on Solis website and the AC units inside the apartments are a safety hazard for anyone moving from other states. They are slammed packed with dust and other particles a florida newcomer might not be adjusted to yet. I moved here months ago and I have not had a day I felt normal yet, 24/7 sick. AC makes a hissing noise regardless of getting it "fixed" 3 times now for the same hissing noise. @@anotherfilmer

Even if You do do everything You're not getting anything above entry-level because Employers would rather hire someone that took an apprenticeship instead of degree.
TLDR; Great School if You're planning to work outside of the United States.
Who cares... It's not about the schools accreditation that determines your success! Not everyone that attends Harvard finds a job.. just saying
lol if you really wanted to you can learn everything you need to know on TH-cam for absolutely free too
@@anotherfilmer Parter, I graduated film & said the same PR stuff before I graduated; What people mean by “Fullsail won’t get You a job” we’re never expecting to be handed out a job. What they’re saying is almost EVERY employer in the industry is gonna ask why You spent two Years & 100 grand to sit in a classroom instead of an internship/apprenticeship & equipment.
@@TinnCupso full sail doesn’t give you internship and help you with a career
@@rophnaicadesruisseaux8950 Employers know Fullsail will give a degree to ANYONE that can afford it.
Stop listening to what the marketing team tells You, they don’t care.
@@TinnCup I mean isn’t every college like that you get a degree and jobs will know that they only want experience not degrees. I thought full sail is more hands on experience and will help you bc I don’t want waste my time looking for college to get a job
Nice video, I just started so this was informative.
Yo... wake up call! Are you giving it your all? Don't stop dreaming and chasing your dreams. you didn't sign up to have fun and entertain yourself. Are you putting in that work? Stop wasting time with social media or whatever else.. this is your time to shine! God has HUGE plans for you!
I am binging your channel right now. You make videos with actual substance, information, and first person view of Full Sail and it is helping me so much. They're also edited beautifully and you speak very well. Thank you for what you do !
The feedback means a lot to me.. I pray my videos can help every single possible student interested in achieving their goals and dreams! When you trust God anything is possible!!!
They definitely weren't helpful to me. I'm still waiting for the so-called Director of Housing. I wrote her June 12th before the start of the of class and to date no response!
I would call them! Annoy them if they want your money LOL or go to a different university that actually cares to respond I guess. They were extremely helpful with me when I gave them a call
Is it better to get a degree in Film or Music Production? Which is easier to get a good paying job out of collge? Easier to break into the industry ? I like both the Music and Film industry
I can't choose for you tbh follow the dream and passion not the money and the job... you know one of the two is what you really really really want. Ask God to reveal to you where he wants you.
I would not be able to move and be on campus. I have kids and having roommates would not be feasible. That's why I take my classes online.
It's normal living... however you chose to live. roommates aren't required by full sail LOL but online is the best choice lowkey for people with kids anyways! Thanks for watching the vids :)
How do you find a roommate being an incoming student?
Many ways.. But best route I've heard of so far is through the housing department, give them a call and they will facilitate you with literally every aspect of moving in! ...or start networking now! Find any and every Facebook group related to Full Sail and make friends who are looking for a roommate.
I was smooth homeless living in my car at full sail
Would love to talk more and potentially get your story on a podcast.. send me a DM on Instagram
I’m glad I found this video. I am going to be a new student there in January.
Let the countdown begin :) that's super exciting!!!
Nice 👍
Big Thank You bro! You got some nice music on your channel damn!! 🔥
does financial aid cover for housing?
Lowkey.. I think so.. I have some friends who receive a check now and worry about debt later.. you feel me! LOL definitely do your RESEARCH! Suggestion always is to call the housing department at the university because I've heard they are amazing! :)
I heard that they do
From what I’ve heard through a rep, yes they do. She said there are students who just live off their financial aid the whole time they are a student so they can just focus on school and not have to work. Definitely ask a rep more about it though!
How are you able to live off your financial aid? When I applied at full sail, they said after financial aid, I would still owe a few thousand
WAH Thank you
Absolutely! Glad it helped a bit!
what if my parents and I will take us to a College Tour when I'm 28 years of age in the future year 2025
That sounds exciting! Definitely check out the college tours if you have the opportunity to do so..
niceee
Big Thanks!
Am from Africa...looking forward to applying at full sail uni for my masters dagree
Congratulations on the big decision! May God bless you in your career! ❤️ Give it your all!!!
dont move to solis, saving u now :D
I'm curious why now? LOL
Glad I dodged the college bullet. What a joke.
College isn't the only or best option to be honest.. glad it worked out for you! Did you still pursue a career in your desired industry?
@@anotherfilmer I'd like to be original advisor for multiple companies to help them expand, but nobody's giving me the chance.
Messaged you on instagram! Hopefully you see it
