I've actually found that meditation helps a lot with overthinking. I just lay down for 10 minutes and stare at the ceiling trying to eliminate any thoughts that might come to me by focusing on being present and passive. Just observe the world surrounding you and absorb. There's a great book touching on the subject called The Power of Now. Hope that helps my overthinking brothers, haha
when it feels like too hard to decide which sound/preset to use, choose many randomly and make them work together. It works surprisingly inspirational way because you need to use your imagination instead of the " I have to find correct sound" obsession
The last one especially is aimed directly at me. I try to put so much pressure on music that I let my other talents go by the wayside. Thank you Curtiss

This video was so awesome I'm a soul/jazz recording artist, singer/songwriter producer and actress. For several moths I have been struggling as a songwriter. I've been able to write hooks/choruses but can't seem to write the verses. A couple of months ago I took a break from my weekly virtual show on facebook live because I had to prepare for an acting competition. Oddly enough I was able to successfully write 2 original monologue pieces and won the competition. I wrote a commercial jingle for a client that is hittin and everybody is feeling it. The jingle and the promo that I put together is getting a lot of attention and building her business. I want to finish the songs that have great hooks but no verses. After watching your video I realized I've been focusing on the end result instead of being in the moment of the process. I'm going to approaching it from a different perspective which I believe will give me a different result. I just subscribed to your channel and look forward to more inspiring videos from you. Your wisdom and knowledge are priceless. You also helped me to actually verbalize why all of my studio sessions are closed because I can't freely create with additional energy in the room that's contrary to mine. Blessings, Promise Marks

And while I agree with the part about comparing yourself to multiple names, I feel like that can also be a motivator for others. Like a challenge to do the impossible to make something that can compete with them as a single person. While it can discouraging and a daunting task I still find it as a goal in itself.
I think as a producer that suffers from depression (self diagnosed lol) having a clear head helps develop a creative mindset. I appreciate the 12 reminders and inspiration for creativity brotha Curtiss. Cheers

I think it’s good to have a formula to go back to if your creativity runs a bit dry. It can spark it up again however don’t do this all the time. Be as creative as possible.
