There was that one patch where they made acid spraymist or whatever that pyromancy was called actually useful and then nerfed it immediately again. Beyond that, you right.
In DS2, when the player runs out of stamina carrying heavy load, the character will gasp for air and also run tired and recover and become normal again once stamina is regeneratated. This animation is not visible in other souls.
even in Ds 2 getting your armor broken is kind of a chore considering that there are more weapon breaking elements than armor breaking. The first time I actually noticed that my armor looks broken was when I decided to invade for giggles and I ended up invading a hacker who instantly broke all my stuff and killed me without even showing up. was rocking the Faraam set too. Part of me kinda wanted to keep the chestpiece broken but I'm a sucker of stats so I fixed it.
@@BlahoMark15 In DS2 it isn't so hard since durability is universally the lowest per class/tier compared to the rest of the series... _except that_ resting at a bonfire restores the durability instantly and completely. You have to heal entirely with gems and avoid resting to even have a chance of it breaking.
It does not deserve all the hate lmao. Truly beloved gem with some of the best lore in the series and had some of the most insane potential of any game to date. The only reason it deserved the hate was its development hell.@@jaggidfire
I'm playing through DS2 for the first time and it's probably my fav along with DS3. HOWEVER I do think the ADP thing is a HUGE factor in killing the game for a lot of people, because it's just a dumb game design decision that makes your rolls feel broken if you don't level it enough. There are a few other gripes I have with it like the excessive snipers and ambushes/ganking in some areas but they're about as annoying as the bad bits in DS1.
There's plenty of ds2 in it, estus shards, the dual wield weapons were obviously a weird downgrade of power stance but they are still there, door shield and of course A LOT of important lore and a bunch of references such as Gilligan "the ladder guy", alva, and a lot more that it will take me all night to list
Fun fact, the armor set for the Soul of Cinder normally doesn't look exactly the same as the boss... Because the boss is wearing the broken version. And it's REALLY hard to break due to its high durability and how slowly durability actually goes down.
you can just go to Irithyll Dungeon and get those huge baby things to spit acid on you while blocking with Havel's greatshield etc, that's how i broke all my armor
Dark Souls III: Alright, I will not acknowledge most of your content and only mention your plot in passing but I´m gonna borrow a few of your mechanics Dark Souls II: -_- Dark Souls III: But I will also make them absolutely obsolete and obscure, it will be as if they aren´t there. I believe Zullie The Witch already did this, and admittedly it is quite an interesting video. Let me see if I can find the name of the video. "They're doomed to turn into horrible monsters" is the video name. You can find it in their Dark Souls III playlist.
Wish durability was real in DS3. It's like they didn't trust the player into being able to deal with it. They gave us tons of options, we even had repair powder. It wouldn't have been such a big deal, but it'd give me something more to think about. It isn't like a survival game where we need to eat or something, tending to my gear is fine. It was frustrating in DS1, when you didn't know about crystal weapons, and when you're new mechanics like this can be a puzzle, but they help make a game that much meatier. Especially with visual feedback like this... what a shame.
The only thing I hated in DS2 about clothing was ring durability. It made no sense. Because the amount enemies that deal durability damage in Dragon Aerie, made me pissed. Because each ring took 6-7K souls to fix.
Great choice in thumbnail because of the best helment of all souls games of course but I didn't know DS2 and DS3 had visible broken armour damage, wow you learn something new. Though I probably would've never noticed in DS3 because bonfires repair it which honestly makes these broken armours look a waste unfortunately
For how armour breaking works on DS3, the amount of players that must had seen the broken armours must had been extremely minuscule
There was that one patch where they made acid spraymist or whatever that pyromancy was called actually useful and then nerfed it immediately again. Beyond that, you right.
I had a friend break all my weapons and armor for me so I can dick around in the arena. After seeing a broken piece of armor in a Prod video.
I did
@@Graysett I miss that build so much
Closest could be the Moonlight Greatsword: it still uses durability with the Weapon Art like in DS1.
This might be the very first time 99.999% of ds3 players see how a broken armor looks like
fr ive never had a single item break once
The only time my armor ever broke was because a hacker made all my equipment brake and I was floored because I never seen it before
That one developer who did all the modelling of the broken armor pieces in ds3 can rest peacefully now, with tears of joy from recognition
It's just a normal map / bump map on top of it. Still good to see.

Also when low on health. It stays like that until you heal.
I had no idea this was even a thing. I guess my armor never went so far as to actually break.

You can get your stuff broken pretty easily by the acid-spitting bugs if you're not careful

Reminds me how awesome DS2 armor and fashionsouls is
Elden Ring definitely lacking there. Got some cool pieces but not like DS2

I don't remember armor breaking in ds3
Because it repairs when you tp or sit at a bonfire...or die...
The easiest method would be in pvp using "acid cloud" pyromancy
To be fair, it's almost impossible to break in ds3
bruh
Durability is also repaired by resting at bonfires in ds2, it’s just that durability depletes incredibly fast in that game for no fucking reason.
@rigorm136 it does go faster but idk if you think its incredibly fast you are doing something wrong

more amazing is how underdeveloped all those mechanics are. You'd think they'd get a few of them right.
