    Nice camp Dan👍👍 Too bad the back kept you down a bit, it will always tell you who's boss. Those raised fire pits are used by Japanese campers account they can't normally build fires on the ground in Japan, dozens of variations available. Trangia worked a treat, food looked tasty. Nice area there, looked a little cold for sure. Well filmed video, thanks for the adventure. Take care of the back, you'll need it for the next trip out. Enjoy!

      Cheers Terry. I bought a tiny tens machine on a recommendation for my back.. it's worked wonders! its feeling much better, although I am being very careful and remembering to lift with the legs : )
      thats interesting that the fire pits are a common Japanese thing.

    Nice and relaxing that mate, loved the morning chorus… Claire’s got one of those fire pits! Well handy, no digging/clearing up after, I just wonder how many fires you’d get before that mesh starts to give out. Good to see a decent tent on the camp… what was it Rob was using again? 😉

    According to Paul Messener parchment paper (not greaseproof) is the way forward for frying pans but I have yet to try it.
    Don’t be jealous of the Akto. I’ve had 2 and while they are very well made I couldn’t get used to sleeping in a coffin that rained condensation and to be honest, how often do you camp in conditions that warrant one.
    Pretty though 😋
    Hope that back gets better.

    Hello :)
    I was wondering if the vestibule on the CU2 has enough coverage to cook in when the sky decides to cry a little? I'm trying to decide between the cloud up 2 and the star river 2. I will be doing quite a lot of multi day hikes and with the British weather as it is.... 🤣
    Many thanks :)

    • @CampLifeBushcraft
      @CampLifeBushcraft  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      I'd say the answer to that is .. just about. it is a small space but I have cooked in there in the rain. its pretty tight, and you can't do much more than have one gas burner running. but if you're travelling light thats probably all you need. its a good tent, I like it.
