So looking at the Manual, it seems that when using it as an Audio Interface as in this scenario, the individual channels are set Pre-Fader, hence why you are still getting a signal to the iPad when the Volume knob is set to Zero. This is fine if you just want to record the separate tracks to a DAW or something, however when sending that back to the L6 (CH 5) if you turn up the individual knobs, there will be doubled signal/feedback loop. It also means that as it is fixed Pre-Fader to the Channel Volume/EQ/FX and mutes won't be sent to the audio interface/iPad. It'd be good if they added the ability to change the inputs to Post Fader then as you "Perform" with the Mixer and adding FX, changing EQ etc they will be captured by the iPad.
If you want to keep the T8 and S1 in Stereo wouldn’t it be better to just connect the T-8 to the line in on the S-1 and then connect it to channel 2-3 to get the stereo effects from them? ☺️
enjoyed both of your iPad/L6 videos, thanks :) so to hear the audio coming out of the iPad you must engage the usb button on channel 5 or 6, using up one of those slots?
Cant find it in the manual. Can you pair aux 1 and aux 2 to adjust both sends with one knob twist? I basically want to send a stereo signal out to an effect unit and back in to keep the stereo signal intact.
Your videos have been very informative! Just got my L-6 and I already know all the ins and outs. Mostly... one thing I've just found I want to do that I'm not sure I can is to have a separate monitor mix from the main mix. Use case would be sending a metronome to my headphones but not to my master mix. Have you run across any tricks that might help me accomplish this goal?
Hey Wabbit, been watching your L6 vids, your others, and also have a Polyend Play+ and Synth on my way. Looks like the L6 works great as an audio in/out for the ipad and be portable. My main question is how to use the Play+ usb audio in tandem with the L6 to the ipad, as well as get the Synth and Play+ to work with ipad midi in/out to the ipad, or at least each other. I was hoping to use a dongle on the ipad to host everything (I do have lightning… but I hear you not covering that), but as you said, am skeptical that will suceed (and can’t check yet since I don’t have all the pieces yet). I’m hopeful I could eventually get midi on a secondary host system eventually (maybe more gear?), even through USB should be possible (with what the L6 can host and othres). Thoughts or experiences getting everything to connect to the ipad and send midi? That’s the dream.
I have to come back to this after I've had coffee!!! When that has happened, let me come back and re read this and see if it is something I can test. THere's a lot to digest but I thank you for taking the time to. ask. I'll see what I can do.
@@altrus2k the coffee is percolating. A couple thoughts before I jump into the cup. One of the downsides of the iPad is it only sees one interface at a time. Works on the last in principle. What ever is the last interface plugged in, that’s what it will see. The L6 usb port in the top is looking for a computer, tablet or smartphone. So play USB can’t go into that. Based on these limitations, something is either left out (l6) or can’t be done in the way suggested. L6 to iPad and audio of play and synth into l6 dem to be the play. Or play usb into iPad directly. Last I checked, play + can be finicky with usb dongles. If you still want that dream scenario, a laptop would be the way to go as it will be able to see multiple interfaces. I could be all wrong. But it’s time for coffee.
Aye, that’s what I’m hearing with the one iPad interface. I’ll see if the lighting cable and dongle beat that problem but I’m skeptical. Thanks for the insights. I’ll check back in when I actually have all the pieces to try.
That USB button was key. Thank you!
Just got my L-6. Mapped the levels, aux sends, mutes to the Novation LCXL and it's a blast :)
@@adavidalex212 awesome! Have fun!

you are welcome

Sure. Or as I found out later, with mono engaged, you can hear stereo in the same configuration.

@@macaronafterparty thanks for the question. Pairing the aux 1 and 2 isn’t a functionality of the L6.

@toddkitta thanks! using the Aux sends was the only workaround I could find but not sure if that will work in your case.

Any MIDI control of Zoom L6 content ?
@@zakklee2556 sorry. I don’t. Not something that I do. The manual points out what can be midi controlled within the L6
