why am I only just finding out this 5 years later, I’ve been on this ride 18 times, I’m 13 years old. it’s one of my favourite rides ( apart from ICON, another of Blackpool’s newest rides ) yet still I would never go and not ride the big one, it’s amazing!
I bet most of the people saying they're never going on The Smiler in Alton Towers have been on the big one in Blackpool... Anyone saying they're not going on The Smiler should watch this!
I was one of the people who was on it when it crashed. Got whiplash. The two front wheels had come off the track. Then looking down 30ft down to a concrete floor. Got taken out by a cherry picker. On the news my 15 minutes of fame. Haha would never go on any ride like that again. Life goes on
I dont blame you, i would of not went on had i watched this first... but yeah me and my son went on, and it was terrifying... LOL....it reallly was, the climb is the worst part. For me anyway!
my family and I all worked there...My mother was one of the first to ride...with Nicky Thompson., before it was opened to the public and yes that accident was at least14 years ago . Crazy dayz...loved that place...never paid for a ride since I was 10...until I emigrated...
UTubeUser I did say at least...but your right ...it was 20 years ago.... July 1994..just a couple of months after it opened...how the years have flown.
It crashed? I never knew that! I've been on Pepsi Max a few times; it's awesome! I don't think it's the tallest in the world though. Maybe it was when they built it. It peaks at 210 feet. I saw a program on roller coasters once and there's one, somewhere in the world, that's 315 feet. Can't remember what it's called or where it is. Might be in Japan.
This happened in sept 2000. I went their in 2006 & it broke down just before the top of the big climb & someone climbed up to check it out & i don't know what happened after? I was there a few more hours & didn't see it running after.
Chaps I'm going on this on Friday with my mates, although I have been on it before I'm still frightened of a crash! If u see anything on the news on Friday about this coaster plz look for my name in the death list- It's Tom Arnold my name (or Thomas)
When I was before goin on it had to be stopped at 50 feet so they could check both cart wheels cause it already broke down early in morning it was my first time I went yesterday too I went on it I was briking it 😂😂

TinK OH TRIPLEE exactly, and the pepsi max is still open and hasn't crashed since
yes but although I still go on the big one people lost there legs on the smiler so there is quite of a big difference
+sophie2426 There is no difference at all, crash on both rides, pmbo deemed safe by the hse, smiker soon to be deemed safe by hse
+ShiftyMFC It was human error! That operator who caused the crash has been fired, so there's no danger for that ride.
lmao guess who's going to pleasure beach tomorrow?
ketxminequxen I don't care I'm still going in July 😂!
Gemma white x I went today with my school 😂

And the dragon kan is the highest in Europe
Now that's a quick reply! Cheers. I've just watched a video of Dragon Khan and it looks amazing! Loop the loops and corkscrews thrown in.
Yeah this roller coaster was the tallest and fastest in the world when it was first build in 1994 till 2002 till somewhere else build bigger
