"if you're done collecting synths and are finally going to make music" - yeah so that's me then 😀 Great stuff as always - have an awesome 2024!
You can do it!
The master at work! Always learning something whenever I chime in. Thanks for all the tips!
Glad to help
Thanks for all your vids in 2023. Looking forward to a great 2024! Happy new year!

You should! You'll be most welcome!
Ace work. I dig.
Cheers Sonny!
you always spreeding knowledge!!!! Thanks!!!! you are the guy who encure me to get back to my MPC one... thanks again Cheers from Berlin, I'm glad that this year I meet you in Berlin!!!
Any time!
Great Stuff, as always 🎹
Thanks for listening
thanks man!
You are welcome!
Very cool demo, thanks very much! Interesting bit about the manual calculation, I'm currently learning an SP404MK2 and to get the sample lengths specific and exact I'm having to calculate them and put it in by hand! Old school logic never goes out of style
If it worked then, it sure will do now!
Great video, as usual. This year I started moving more towards dawless, or maybe hybrid is more accurate, as I still use in the box effects, plus the occasional vst, like the 909 from D16. Let's just say your videos had a big impact on it. (that and the fact that it's way more fun). Still fighting the midi delay issues that come with this approach, but I plan on getting the Retrokits 006 to at least drive it all from the same source. (speaking of, maybe you could add a referral link for it).
In any case, happy new year and hopefully see you next year, on the discord!
Bac at ya and keep it up! The 006 is a winner!
Your intro song is straight fire 🔥
New one coming soon!
Greetings to you AK, thanks for all of your musical wisdom that you have shared.
P E A C E L O V E & J O Y to you for 2024.
Thanks for listening! Much love!
This dude is so cool
Thanks for all you've done for the community in 2023. Looking forward to an awesome 2024 following you too! Cheers AK, and Happy New Year!
Same to you!
🎉
😎
Sure I did not understood anything, but the video is super motivating, Im starting ambiental folk black-death metal activity. Clearly I know I will use Fruity Lopps V.2 or so... Happy New Year and Cheerz!
Best of luck!
I love the intro song! Is it available anywhere?
not yet but coming soon!!!
good vid! Btw, what do you exactly mean with "Catalyst Element"?
An element within your beat or groove that propels your groove in a forward motion. Like what shakers do to a 4x4 beat. Check out my Sample & Hold catalyst pack and you'll get the idea! soundcloud.com/analogkitchen/ak-sh-vol-1320?si=1c51be22198e4b119e0b6c6cd0b79017&
Brother says he slimmed down and then shows whole table crowded with gear haha. But it def sounds good!
It’s my pitfall. I realize it hahaha
What is that midi recorder/router called? Nice jam and video man! ❤🎉 Happy New Year! 🎊
Retrokits RK008
@brianhook indeed
Hey does anyone know more about the polyphonic update for the Sub 37 ? I didn't find anything.
You know I was joking, right? I was playing the OB6 via midi and using the Sub as a master keybed. Thought I'd not leave you hanging out here
Great job, have you seen this Ballacid Channel? He uploads lots of cool acid artists
Hey there! Nope, I've not seen it! I will check it out! Thanks for sharing!
how do you do transitions? do you lead by diferent samples and then build the sounds on your other machines? Do you use presets on your other machines?
Hi Adriana, I'll do a tramsition video soon. But I have different lines going in one pattern. One line on the route note and one melodic line and I can then switch between them. The power is to really stay on the same pattern and mask your music. I will do a video as I know this might sound vague. I have some transition vids on the channel:
Try this link here:

@@AnalogKitchen Thanks so much for your reply! I appreciate it!
Tramsition? Hahaha
When you’re playing live, do you play in and sound design instruments on the spot on cue, or do you come with a prepped set?
I come somewhat prepped but I can also still do stuff on the fly!
@@AnalogKitchen thanks for the reply. Playing my first live gig with a trs8, minilogue xd and td-3 this month. Your material really helped me iron out a lot of rough edges, hopefully I won’t get boo’ed. Mad respect for your content, man! Looking forward for more
Do you use the Black Box only for one sound or why is the Black Box important?
It's the only box in the setup right now that 'flirts with the outside world'. All other boxes have their own sound and the BB let's me add samples to my setup
Needed more Cowbell.
We ALWAYS need more cowbell. That's fact! ;)
I've rewound and listened a half dozen times....what does he say after "bass synth"?? (Around 2:50)
Catalyst synth! Like stuff I use here: www.analogcourses.com/courses/sample-pack-sample-hold-catalysts
🤩💯💥🙌😇BIGUP RESPECT @AnalogKitchen IT'S Blazing FIRE&LIT KING*****!!
Ow Yes!!! 😎
is it "using too many sounds" or "oversaturating the mix with upper-mids"?
Ah, the eternal struggle in audio production! It's like walking a tightrope between a symphony and a cacophony.
Why the background audio? it interferes with what your saying. Cool tutorial
Ah, the background audio thought it could add some drama to the tutorial, but it ended up being a bit too clingy. I'll have a talk with it and make sure it understands that it needs to take a step back. Thanks for pointing it out and glad you enjoyed the tutorial!
For delay times... Something like.. ? 3/16 delay time at 138 BPM:
get the length of the bar ie ((60/138) * 4) = 1.7391 seconds
3/16th of 1.7391 = 0.1875 * 1.7391 = 0.326 seconds
much easier nowadays..!
or simplified:
(240*(delay time)) / tempo
ie
(240*(3/16)) / 138
= 45 / 138
= 0.326
Ha, I have been thinking about this for too long.
You could just get the length of 1/16th by
1/16 * 240 = 15
15 / your tempo.
so..
1/16th note length of 135 bpm is:
15 / 135 = 0.111111 seconds
3/16th just multiply by 3:
0.1111 * 3 = 0.333333
To summarise, to get the length of a 1/16th note, just
15 divided by your tempo.
Then multiply that number for stuff like 3/16th, 8/16ths or whatever.
Rather proud of my limited maths to suss that one.
Woah, mind blown! Thanks for breaking it down for us. Math was never my strong suit, but now I can impress my friends with this music hack.
Excellent begin for the new year really helpfull & intersting details on this video as usual many thks for that !!! many thks for shared all this diamond And HNY to you as well all the best !!!!
Happy new year!
Less is more
Well... More or less... :P
You can have many instruments and make music. There are só many musicisns famous and not that have 3, 5, 20 guitar like bonamassa, slash, me etc
Exactly!
A laptop with Ableton Live have the same and more sonic results. economy matters !!!!
Strongly disagree. Economics is a bad motivator if you want to succeed. And I don't even want to get started on the sonic results. Only the more 'IT' driven computer nerd gets 'almost' to a point I can get to in 5 minutes tweaking sounds on my synths. I get you but most of us hear music and not see music. So instead of playing stuff on a computer I believe in actually 'listening' to music. I know, it's a dire concept but try it, it might work...
