OnePlus 10T Week One: More Oppo than ever

  • The OnePlus 10T sees the return of the T variant, but the removal of certain key features that are synonymous with the brand. While the OnePlus 10T has certainly been a great performer in week one so far, I can't shake the feeling that I've experienced this kind of phone before...

    If Asus can fit in a headphone jack and 4300 mah battery in such a compact phone like Zenfone 9, there is no excuse for OnePlus to remove the alert slider from their phones.. the real reason behind this must be because OnePlus is slowly becoming oppo. They make pretty much the same devices with the same software now. OnePlus used to be my favourite smartphone brand but they are definitely going backwards now. I'll switch to pixel once pixel 7 comes out.

    • @yeejay6396
      @yeejay6396 2 ปีที่แล้ว +9

      Oneplus' literal official statement over the Alert Slider removal was and I quote as best as I can recall "Takes up a considerable portion of internal space, and interferes with signal reception."
      There's teardown vids showing the slider. The thickness of a toothpick and the size of a pinky nail..
      If iPhone can have their slider since D1 2007 and never get rid of it. What In the actual hell is keeping OnePlus from becoming what they tried so hard to differentiate from?
      Now they're just another carbon copy of every other major Android Player.
      They've Settled, and yet their slogan States "Never".

    hello, whats the difference between 10T and Ace Pro?

  • @dr.fitprofessor4363
    @dr.fitprofessor4363 ปีที่แล้ว

    Actually, I really don't mind OnePlus barring a few things for mapo. However, the lack of a slide selector switch for the ringer on this model was a bad decision. Just a few weeks ago I needed to purchase a new phone and I chose the 10 Pro over the 10t and that was definitely a huge factor in my decision. The other two factors was the plastic frame and the center hole punch for the front-facing camera. I really wish they would have placed the center punch hole on the upper left-hand side like some of their more recent builds. Regardless of my critiques, I still think it's an amazing phone. Ultimately, I felt that the 10 Pro had a wider variety of features. Moreover, I have never owned a pro OnePlus variant and I couldn't be happier with it.
    Another thing I don't mind OnePlus borrowing from oppo is the color o s skin. Unfortunately, a lot of people are complaining about this but, color OS is clearly a better UI. It has a far better lay-out and many more customizations. At the moment, I feel lucky to be using an 8T for my work phone and to have a 10 Pro for my personal use.
    Interesting Lee enough, the OnePlus 11 just debuted and it does have a slight selector switch for the ringer. Frankly, I am pleased to see it back and I hope they do not choose to go down the road of the 10t again.

    • @sayididit2930
      @sayididit2930 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      So their excuse (from what I understand) is that the vapor chamber needed to keep the phone cool while super fast charging the device took up too much room.
      But according to OP people I spoke to at the event, they already figured out how to fit it in for the next device. So I said they should have kept the previous version of SuperVooc charging for the 10T and save the 160w (which your never really going to use its full potential anyways) for the 11 or whatever (heck, Warp charging on my OP6t is damn fast already - even though I think it may have degraded my battery faster...)
      I am super pissed off that they removed the alert slider and I think most OP fans are as well.
      OnePlus. Settled.

    Pros:
    Finally better performance than 8 Pro
    16 GB ram ... Lol, but future proofing? If you intend to keep this phone for 6 years
    120, 60 and NOW 90 dynamic refresh rate. Nice
    3 OS updates + 4 years of Security Updates still makes it Top 3 in Android world for support.
    Expected great 3rd party ROM support
    Best cooling on any OnePlus phone
    150W charging: Nice
    Cons:
    No alert slider
    Meh Main Camera
    Artificially limiting video capabilities and not providing 4K120 and 8K30 video
    No Hasselblad and upgraded camera app? Why?
    Main Ultra Wide
    Meh Macro
    Front facing camera: Still no 4K. WHY
    No Wireless Charging
    No "official rating IP", even if like all OnePlus's, it's probably the same IP as their Pro flagships
    900 nits max brightness? Eh
    1080p? Eh.
    No LTPO? Eh. Battery improvements are gained from the SD8+ Gen 1 anyway.
    4800 mAH instead of the 5000 from 10 Pro or even more? Eh.

    The front camera is super wack at night too. I mean, the phone looks fantastic if we forget the oppo-ification of the brand, but the cameras are pretty bad for 700 euro. And the macro is just a joke.

Still no 4k recording from the front and no stabilization there. No alert slider too. Gives trash 2mp macro but can't give the alert slider. It's basically a Nord 2T with a different chipset and design. Stupid decisions imo.
