i hope they find a museum to preserve this beautiful collection. on one hand, it's heartwarming to hear what two brothers built together. On the other hand, neither have a partner or children to share this with after they're gone 💔
It’s okay, they have plenty of time on their hands.
The number of commentators who think you can just leave these to a museum is just sad. These brothers already operate this as a museum and it's struggling to stay open as one. Museums won't just take anything. Storage, maintenance, etc all cost money and successful museums can’t afford something that requires niche care and doesn’t get people through the door.
True enough yet still more likely than finding a private person to take them all.
It might be difficult but still doable. They might have to look outside their own country though.
they need it to go in a timeless museum!
My aunt in Ireland has a cuckoo clock in her kitchen for as long as I can remember. She is the only person I know of that has one. Shes in her late 80's now. The cuckoo clock always fascinated me as a child. 😊
I known a couple people who had them. Super cool.
Best bet is probably a museum
"Unmarried with no children."
I felt that
This is becoming the new normal
I wonder if they are willing to take an intern who can accumulate the knowledge to build and repair the clocks.
My Lord, those are BEAUTIFUL!!!
I would LOVE to own a couple of them. But have not enough money (or space) for them all. Wish them good luck in finding a good home
well, they could give it to a museum?
I'm sure they've tried but no museum is going to want to keep all of these. It’s an extremely niche hobby and not a tourist draw.
Just two eccentric British men that go through life quietly harming nobody. Best of luck chaps.
They live in Knutsford😭 I love quirky old Englishmen
Lol awesome
There is a guy just outside of Atlanta called Champs Clocks that has a ton of cuckoo clocks that might be interested, although I doubt he'd move to England.
"You better not hook up to the amplifier there's a slight possibility of overload." Doc Brown
I don’t mean to be rude, but I think they’re a little cuckoo.
I was raised in a house full of antique clocks of every kind. They were my grandfather's love. It was kind of like Old Doc Brown's place in Back to the Future. Constant ticking, Some clocks chimed on the hour, some every half hour, and some every 15 minutes, day and night. We'd wind them every Saturday morning. We had an old Blackwood Forest Cuckoo with it's little musical dancers. That one hung in my bedroom as a kid. It required daily winding. I loved that clock.
I would love to care for the coo coo's. I have a few of my own, That I could add to the collection. I even have parts from grandfather clocks that I saved, to use & repair other clocks. I have repaired many different types of coo coo clocks. The elderly gentleman that taught me was in his nineties, I met him when I was trying to locate original parts for a coo coo clock, that I bought when I was an exchange student back in grade school. Its not just a hobby, it becomes a passion. The clocks the brothers have amassed, must stay together as a historical collection. I was in a clock museum over in Germany. You wouldn't even believe the thousands of different types & sizes of coo coo's that there are. Each having their own personalities & sounds. One was so large of a clock , it took an entire room up. It played entire songs. It was wonderful experience.
The collectors needs to leave them to a museum. I really hope they do.
I can understand why they’re unmarried, lol.
fanny bandits
I'm interested. I have many clocks that I maintain. They all have personality.
Where's Nurse Ratchett when you need her?????😅
I'd always heard they were cuckoo for cuckoo clocks in (K)nutsford.
Should be in museum after they retired! Hopefully my collection will be like this but full of Victorian American kitchen/parlor!
Nutsford, England? Amazing 😊
I want to go see them!! Cuckoo clocks have great sentimental value to me. My Swiss descent grandparents always had a cuckoo clock. ❤️🩹
How wonderful!
qualifications:
gotta have an interest in clocks.
They would like their clocks to last forever, but that's just contrary to the human condition.
not all humans. there are a few (probably with more Neanderthal in their brains) who are particularly detail minded, conscientious, diligent. i guess that's the sort of person who the brothers hope to hand off their clocks to..
That's why
Nutsford sounds about right 😂
That's a bum ticker
Humble wonderful men.
Wow ❤❤❤
Look Mom No Computer has a museum in Ramsgate, Kent. That's almost kinda perfect for this.
Cool, they should create the most complicated, gem laiden cuckoo clock.
They could give it to Vacheron Constantin.
God bless.
I have a cuckoo clock from the 1000 clocks store in Black Forest Germany 2 years ago. It was an amazing experience! Cuckoo clocks deserve way more hype
Kuku man
Those should go to a museum. A clock museum.
What about a museum that can take all of them
My pokemon toys when i go lol
A museum I’m their name
Take it to Jamaica i have a place for it .
Do they all work? 😱
Well thats just... Great
Real life Gepetto.
I paid $400.00 for my cucu clock from black forest Germany
Brought it home but girlfriend has a thing against the bird's song
so I haven't heard him for years! 🤨🤬
Keep the clock, replace the girlfriend😊
This'd be a nightmare for me.
With one clock, you know exactly what time it is. With two or more, you never know exactly what time it is!
They are LOVELY though and I can't imagine being in a room with so much ticking mechanical awesomeness.
with one clock, you THINK you know what time it is.
with two or more, you realize you never did. 😐🕶️😎

Why don't you use your mother's name? You know her better.

This is way freaking weird 😂
How so?
Hoarders
Collectors, learn the difference. What you just wrote is very insulting, plus if you're belief is right, there would be no museums. Hoarders collect useless piles of dirty junk, not specific loved and looked after items. These people are collectors and experts in their choice of item.
hoarders keep anything from dead rats to moldy food rotten food until it liquifies. Ive had experience in a horder home these guys are actually collectors a very odd collection though indeed
My older brother who is now in care with serious mental health problems, damaged my sitting room with hoarding. I lost books and a sofa. That's what hoarders do.
It's currenrly a working clock museum, people visit. Someone with no passion, will always poop on others.
