- In this video we test the 16-25mm F2.8 whilst exploring the desert. Should you buy this lens or one of the many 3rd party options available from Sigma and Tamron?

My 16-35 f4 Zeiss does all I need and is now really affordable used
I was all set to get the 16-25 for my travels later this year, but I've decided that I don't need 2.8 as much as I need 35mm. I decided that the super sharp 16-35 F4 PZ would add another dimension to my "collection" of lenses - only lens with PZ.
35mm 1.8 lens to go with the 16-25 🤌🏼
@@Amcacs5654 Good point!
I ordered the viltox 16mm 1.8 for real estate which one you think will be better for that?
I dont know if I did something wrong when trying this lens but the option to activate the distortion correction it was marked grey
What are your thoughts between the Sony 24-50mm and the Tamron 20-40mm?
Honestly same thing applies I mentioned in this video. If you need the features a Sony lens brings then that’s the way to go
🔥🔥🔥🔥
Bought the Samyang 35-150mm F2-2.8 because of your videos! What wide angle zoom would you recommend to fill the wide gap of the 35-150mm?
Edit: I mainly do photography :D
Do you mean to fill the gap from 16-35?
@@chrisbrockhurst yes! Sorry had a brain fart. Currently leaning towards Tamron's 17-28mm F2.8 since it's about $115 cheaper than Sigma's 16-28mm F2.8.
Tamron 17-28mm F2.8 = $580USD
Tamron 20-40mm F2.8 = $520
Sigma 16-28mm F2.8 = $695
Sony 16-25mm F2.8 = $1,080
Sony Vario-Tessar T* 16-35mm F4 = $750
Sony 16-35 F2.8 GM II = $1,835
Sony 16-35 F2.8 GM I = $1,350
If budget is main concern I’d opt for the Tamron
@@chrisbrockhurst gotcha. Which one would you recommend to pair with the 35-150mm? Tamron 17-28mm F2.8 or Tamron 20-40mm F2.8?
Feel like people criticised the 24-50mm for having a small focal range when one of the most beloved 16-35 has less of a focal range and then this 16-25 is even less or a range. Personally I really don’t like wide focal lengths but if companies are starting to make odd lengths, a 35-85 f2.8 would be a dream for me!
I’m holding out for the 24-70 / F2 💪
It’s gunna be a monster of a lens if they make it
And Back-breakingly expensive
It wont be a travel lens for sure, but for wedding and events I’ll take it!
Me too
I'm going too sell my Sigma 14-24 2.8 for this lens or the 12-24 f/4. The Sigma is fantastic, but it is double the weight of the 16-25.
I sold my sigma 14-24 and kind of miss it
@@Nic_v. did you replace it with another Ultra wide lens?
@@duvalpenny100 initially the Zeiss 16-35mm F4, because I needed 35mm and to use a cpl. But now I have the 24-70mm f2.8 and am looking to go back to an f2.8 ultra wide that can still use filters
Im getting rid of the sigma 16-28, it focus breathes like crazyyyy at 16mm
Yeh it’s not the best for that
Buy the Sony!
no hesitation eh?
Either buy a 16mm 1.8 or 20mm 1.8 and then a 24-70. No need for this lens personally
Who makes a 16mm 1.8 for Sony FF?
@@Nic_v. the new viltrox which is a fantastic lens
@@philvfilms ah, thank you!
Sony 16-25, nothing better.
