      I worked Uber In one of these for the last 6 months, did around 30k km, no problems whatsoever. And the car I was renting was the problematic 1.5 litre engine that is supposedly a piece of crap. One of the most comfortable cars I've driven and I was averaging 4.8-5.2 liters /100km.

    The petrol flap on our hybrid locks separately as the petrol tank is slightly pressurised and you have to hold the button for 5 seconds. It's to do with crash protection for the tank.

      It's also to reduce fuel vapours escaping and being ignited by sparks from the electric side of the car.

    • @Hoofie
      @Hoofie 2 ปีที่แล้ว +18

      And its also to keep the gasoline from degrading through evaporation, since gas goes bad over time. I believe 90 days is where most hybrids will start using the ICE a bit more to burn off old fuel in order to avoid any fuel/ICE related issues.

    Really impressed with the interior material quality. The new golf feels cheap in comparison. The new golf doesn't even have a felt lined glove box and I'm happy that Peugeot took the time to address the issue of moving the fuse box. Well done to them.

      It's not surprising that Peugeot are being compared to Volkswagen or BMW nowadays.

    I test drove one of these last week (GT petrol) and it blew me away. BTW the touch keys below the center display are programmable, you can assign them to any shortcut you want, very cool.
    I have a 2020 Peugeot 308 130hp diesel, and I'm loving the small steering wheel. Once you get used to it, you won't go back, I assure you. The main thing to remember is that - by design - you have to look at the dials above the wheel, not through it. This way you also rest your arms on your thighs, so on long journeys your shoulders won't hurt.

      @@purwantiallan5089 That's really very subjective. One can say "I like this better than that", no one should say "This is better than that". I've driven more that 40 different cars in my life (work reasons) and I wouldn't be caught dead in a German car, unless my life depended on it. Statistically they are quite unreliable, proven by reports and such published annually. And as far as design goes, I personally find them as appealing as a brick. But again, just my personal taste. I'm sure those who choose them have plenty of reason to like them and that's great.

      Alot of kit, and finally they solved the crappy resolution of parking camera. It's very crisp now. The 3D gauges are the best feature of this car in my opinion.

    I've ordered this car a couple of weeks ago and was really looking forward to the Carwow review but I've got to say, it was a bit of a let down.
    Overall it was the usual good Mat's review but the fact that they didn't bother to charge the battery and test the various drive modes properly, nor do a 0-60 and a 60-0 test or even state whether he was testing the 180 hp or the 225 hp version, felt a bit like a cop out.
    Also, does anybody know what's the deal with the official 0-60 times for the 180 hp and the 225 hp versions being only 0.1 sec apart?!

    • @GeordieAmanda
      @GeordieAmanda 2 ปีที่แล้ว +8

      The max torque of both these cars is the same, so perhaps the increase in power is slightly offset by the slight increase in its weight? I have the 3008 GT4 hybrid (300bhp) and chose this as it felt so much quicker than the 225hp version. Got it through Car Wow and it turned a crazy expensive car into an affordable one. £9k off and £7.3k off the finance. Loving the car so far except for the problem with charging whilst on the road. 3.7kwh is way too slow to charge in most places.

    • @Totano84
      @Totano84 2 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      @@GeordieAmanda Maybe, but there are 30 kg or around 65 pounds between the 180 and the 225, that should be almost insignificant compared to the 45hp difference. Also odd how the only difference is supposed to be a 150hp vs a 180hp engine but the final output is 45hp apart. Maybe there's a bottleneck somewhere, i.e. in the gearbox, which auto-limits the output at lower gears so there isn't much difference in the 0-60.
      I went for the 225hp version, 1200 euro differences wasn't that much on such an expensive car, and at least when the battery is dead you get 30hp extra which can't hurt with such a heavy car. Plus I've seen some videos of it doing 0-60 in 6.7-7.8 seconds so fingers crossed. Oh, and I went for the 7.4kw onboard charger to avoid the issue you mentioned with your 3008.
      Still, wish they had a 300hp all wheel drive version of the 308 too!

    • @GeordieAmanda
      @GeordieAmanda 2 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      @@Totano84 I would have loved the 7kw charger, but the deal was on a 3.7kw version. I don't get anything like the advertised electric mileage (less than 50% usually, even when driven carefully) and there are many threads on the Internet about this from other people. The key, I've found, to 'best mpg' is to always use the sat nav, as it calculates when it's most advantageous to use the battery. I do love the comfort of the car as I'm so used to fast German cars that have firm springs and are heavily damped, it's a bit of a revelation really and reminds me of when I was learning to drive many years ago and cars had much softer suspension. It's an excellent motorway car, even if that's not where the hybrid parts is at its best (well, that's not totally true in the usual roadworks of course :D )
      I wondered why my car didn't have more combined power/torque, but it turns out the limit of the gear box is pretty much maxed out. I think it's the same gear box in cars like the BMW M135 and countless others and they all peak at around the same max power/torque.
      This is an interesting comparison of what the weight of a couple of adults can do to the performance of an M3. It's quite noticeable too th-cam.com/video/d_FLtFutnho/w-d-xo.html

    Ive driven this, the Golf, the BMW 1 series and the Audi A3. The current A3 is just a small upgrade from the Golf and seriously, the 308 is so much better than the A3. It's no competitiion for the Golf at all. The BMW is really sporty, but I'd say the 308 on the GT version is on par in terms of quality with the 1 series. With 1 plus for the 308: you get a ton of options not even available on the current 1 series for the same price of a rather basic 1 series.

VW is known for having quite austere designs that work better on the long run. I still find the Golf 1, 2 and 3 quite nice and much better than most of its competitors from each era. Obviously all of this is subjective though....

    I'm really pleased with my new Peugeot 308 GT petrol, it's a great car. I've had it almost a month and do I regret my decision YES. The reason why is that Peugeot are supplying the new 308 with missing equipment. Mine is missing...heated windscreen, wireless charging, 3D i-Cockpit, heated steering wheel and traction control deactivation. There should be a series of function buttons to the bottom right of the steering wheel. My car just has 5 blanking plates where these should be and this missing kit is not an isolated incident, search for - Peugeot Forum..Missing Specifications. It's my first and last Peugeot. I'm in touch with Peugeot UK but haven't got anywhere yet !!!

Itin žemos galinės sėdynės, tad suaugusių keleivių keliai bus labai iškelti, kas nepatogu ilgiau važiuojant. Egnyba bei dujų paskirstymo saistuma buvo praeitos paveizos ydos, vargu, ar ištaisytos, nes varikliai, pavarų dėžės tie patys (iškyrus tikrą naujieną - kištukinį mišruolį, kuris ir pateiktas šioje apžvalgoje). Re the rear wiper working in reverse ... my 2006 Merc A180 does that as well. IIRC, my 2001 A160 did too ...
    It's synced to the front wipers as well, so if they are on full chat, the rear goes like the clappers as well. always wondered why that wasn't standard on all cars!

      @@purwantiallan5089 No the first 308 looked ugly. The 308 II looked very good, but the 306 is maybe one of the best looking hot hatch of the 90’s. It’s exterior design (like facelift 106) still doesn’t look outdated nowadays. When you compare Golf 3, 4, Renault Mégane, Citroen Xsara, Opel Astra, Rover 200, Ford Escort/Focus of the same era they look pretty outdated compared to the 306.

    I really love the Peugeot and it looks phenomenal in Green. The new Opel Astra is also great. But the engine options aren't for me. The entry level combustion engines are to slow for my liking and the plug-in hybrids need to get charged regularly which isn't possible where I live. I'd love a version with a combustion engine and about 170-200 HP. That would be great.
