Peugeot and Renault have the best hatchbacks of all time. They had some problems with electronics, but if you drive a french hatchback once, you drive french forever. Every hatchback rides like a rally car. Comfort, price and handling are amazing. I will gladly accept an electrical problem 10 years from now, as opposed to a VW 2.0 tsi that breaks a piston after 20000 km. My Laguna Coupe is 3 times better than an Audi A5. More comfort, better fuel economy, MUCH better price, better handling and sexy as hell. Gearbox is great, the turbo is responding faster than in any german engine. Audi is bland and predictable, with no character in the engine. Generic german coupe. All eyes are on me when I drive my car. I'm not one of the crowd.
@@aosorea First of all, Renault isn't even a brand you can compare to Audi. Different price range. But the cars that were aimed directly against each other, the A5 and the Laguna COUPE, are comparable. Audi has good engines??? The whole VW group has been utter crap for 15 years. 2.0 tsi is a problem waiting to happen, and the diesels they were so proud of, are also crap. Last good engines were 1.8 turbo and 1.9 tdi. Believe me, i've tried them. Audi a5 is more technologically advanced than my laguna?? Be sure to tell me when they have an advanced handling system as good as 4 control. Search on youtube, laguna 3 vs porsche test. A fwd family sedan was quicker than a boxster. You think I paid the same money for my Laguna as for an A5 because I need to be a hipster? I said the laguna has a better price, but when I bought it used, it was about the same. And yes, the ride quality is a hundred times better. Maybe not in germany, every car is the same on roads that look like an airplane runway. In my country, in an A5, you would piss a kidnney out. They are bland and predictable, an audi from 1998 looks and drives the same as an audi 2015, which is sad. German cars have become sad predictable money pits. Every 5 years, they change something like the front grill, and they sell the same car to people like you. If you have an audi a4 2008, would you cpend the money to buy an audi a4 from 2019? But they built a steering wheel that splits, so that makes my argument about it being the same car irrelevant.
Peugeots design has been on point for a good few years. The 3008 gt line is a stunner. Also i took a 206 (iirc) not a sporty one, a small engined auto, I was amazed how good their auto box was. I think it is better than the 7 speed DSG in my 18 leon st fr 2l tsi. I really liked it. Worked well with the tiny engine, something most autos fail at.
Just received my brand new 2008 GT Line. Utterly awesome car with shockingly good quality. The new 208 is also top notch, totally agree with rear camera though
These are cool. I remember seeing this at its launch and thought it would be a great little car. Best looking small car on the market at the moment. I’m seeing a lot more Peugeot’s on the road recently. Their cars look great.
This is only a restyle of the previous model 208. They seem to be trying to make it look like an SUV with the silly bits around the wheels. I prefer the old style which is a very tall hatch but looks like a car rather than a bus. We have a 2013 model 208 and it has been 100% fantatstic. Best by far with the diesel engine, really nippy and far better at motorway speed than the screaming petrol model. Will easily do 60mpg + too. Little steering wheel is great, you are supposed to set it low and look over it to the dials. Drives like a go cart- great fun. Had ours for 5 years (bought at 3 years old) and passed all mots and only thing broken is the washer motor. Some have auto parking which you will not use but ours has a pan roof which is a fantastic option if you can find one. Body, seats and all the switches stand up well, ours still looks showroom new inside. Cannot fault them.
I’m just looking forward to the all new 308. I wish my current one had ambient lighting and couple of these features that are in the current facelift 308

Finally a great looking Peugeot after the fantastic 206 which I still own. I mean who wants a polo if you can have this 205 inspired 208
Sander Cobussen badge snobs. The polo is unbelievably boring
winzfeld1 I totally know what you mean, especially regarding VWs and their design; not ugly at all, but can be super plain. I would disagree about the polo being totally boring though, I have the 1.2 105 R-Line trim, and while it isn't super car fast, it's nippy and quite fun to drive being turbocharged. There are many better choices though, and the main reason I got it was because exterior and interior wise it tickled my fancy. Doesn't do well on fuel for a 1.2 which still makes no sense to me.
The sporty polos are great first cars imo

Been driving one for a month, yellow one, stunning car,. Fuel economy is decent 65 to the gallon and I wasn't driving economically at all, 8 gear automatic gearbox smooth.
I used to hate Peugeot's, I saw them as cars for people who gave up and don't care about cars... I was recently given a dusty beaten up 308 hdi and dear god is it a sleeper, the turbo lag is real but when it kicks in you can outrun pretty much anything, it's a shame it's like driving a speed boat around our British roads. Still I love this car and will be sad to get rid. Anyway this car in review it looks hot and I suppose that kills the joys of a sleeper which is a shame but I am glad Peugeot have finally decided to make good cars on purpose again.

Pick up mine next week! Cannot wait. An absolutely beautiful car.
Finally you are back reviewing normal cars!
@@aosorea
Also, renault engines have worse fuel economy? All I can say is wow.
Looking to buy Peugeot for my next car. 20 years ago I had a Peugeot 406. It was the best car for comfort, seriously cloud nine level!
Idk why some people hate Peugeot, I think it is way better than Renault Clio, VW Polo, Fiesta and any other small car.
I never thought I’d say it but Peugeot are making good cars again. We can thank Top Gear for this I think.
Worked well with the tiny engine, something most autos fail at.
these new peugeots actually look good, i especially like the black strip across the boot like you got on a 205
Just received my brand new 2008 GT Line.

No he isn't you weirdo.
I can’t lie Peugeot have step up their design now I love it
This is only a restyle of the previous model 208.
12:26 love the Mario Kart reference 😂
This new car is Gorgeous!
Just bought an 18 plate 208 allure and the quality is incredible
Amazing how many haters on here - still thinking 20 years in the past - It's 2020 now and things are changing - VAG cars are not offering much more over mainstream cars and Peugeot (PSA) are now in partnership with luxury brands like Alfa Romeo, Maserati, Chrysler and Dodge etc.. -
