All medications, including Tylenol, Advil, Gravol and any OTC meds/supplements you might want or use. For the flight over and back I get my Doctor to prescribe sublingual Ativan 1mg. I get 10 for a full trip and use 2 for the long flight across the Pacific to/from Vancouver. I found excellent spray on sunscreen 100 SPF for kids (Beach Hut), it was brilliant and did not come off in water. Cam

Just a few items I took for my month long visit. Several forms of sunscreen. Spray on, lotion & a couple little deodorant looking sunscreen sticks. I took some high potency mosquito replant pump spray bottles. But what I decided was better option was then mosquito repellent wet wipes I took. Three little tin can citronella candles were great for sitting outside in the evenings. Regular wet wipes. They were awesome to have. A lot of restrooms aka CRs don’t have toilet paper. I bought little toilet paper rolls there as well. Was always glad to have the sun block chapstick, sunscreen stick, little roll of Toilet paper & wet wipes in my small backpack I used every day. Another big one for anyone’s travel is charcoal capsules. The likelihood of food poisoning or getting sick from water is pretty good there. Charcoal capsules can greatly shorten the length of discomfort. Buy them, take them with you and thank me later. Very cheep little. Insurance policy.

Hi Chad, in my time spent with the British armed forces we had a saying that I committed to memory: preparation and planning prevents piss poor performance, a check list is always the way forward prior to travelling, pool looks nice enough at your condo, regards from England 🍺🍺👍

The reason you need a larger size shirt is that here it is Asian sizes and not US or EU etc so yes they are smaller and generally a bit different cut.

Ear plugs for those morning roosters and banka boat travel. Your own snorkel and fins.. The 2nd Atm card is a great tip.. Off insect repellent works fine in the Philippines.

I am packing balikbayan boxes.I am shipping a laptop, (carrying one) a home computer and my 75 inch tv. My shipper told me it would cost a little over $400 to ship and will save me a lot of money over buying one there. I also purchased a new iPhone and gopro. I also have a sling bag and portable power bank for the brownouts.

Regarding antibiotics, if you really do need one, you can just use coconut oil which you can find plenty in Philippines. Same goes for garlic, but I think Coconut oil is more doable. Can be applied on cuts, fungus, even if you catch a cold etc. It's very antiviral also. Though not sure if you can get it in pill form in Philippines. Not many people are a fan of drinking oil.

Great video. Tangential to the topic of footwear: never walk barefoot outdoors in the tropics. That's how people get hookworm infections. The larva bore through the bottoms of your feet. The symptoms are a lot like Montezuma's Revenge. Your water shoe suggestion sounds like a great idea for walking in the sand at the beach. Hookworm disease is spread to humans mostly through dog poop, and there are plenty of dogs around.

I just found out that my spectrum mobile phone is not going to work out for traveling to the Philippines. They want $10 extra a day for International calls! Wow what a rip off!
I have a iPhone 13 with an old style Sim card that I’m going to bring, but that still doesn’t give me the international dialing or free phone calls back home . I also found out that you can get signed up with Google for your calls back home.
It’s all a giant learning curve that’s for sure. Thanks for the info!

Appreciate your thoughts and have been doing most of your recommendations for years. $Currently in the Philippians as well and the only thing I would add is pay the $1.99 per month for Viber. If you are locked out of an account (for say suspicious activity, or clearing your cache) you can make unlimited calls to land lines back to your bank. Happened twice to me over the last 5 months crossing Asia. (WhatsApp only cell to cell) $1.99/mo. cheap insurance.
Also, what condo is that in Cebu City please?
    Cheers...

Do I need anything else besides a passport and my ticket for my flight or do I need a visa or something? First time flying out of the country

    • @LZYDOG
      @LZYDOG ปีที่แล้ว

      1. You will need to google whether you require a visa. Most countries don't if traveling less than 30 days, but double check.
      2. You will need proof of covid vaccination. Each government has their own form, so find out about
      3. You will need proof of departure flight to show that you are heading out before 30 days.
      4. And Google Etravel Philippines and full that out for arrival and departures.
I'm coming over to Cebu in Oct. Hope you enjoy

Depending on where you're coming from, Americans and Canadians for example get an automatic 29 day visa stamped in their passport, to go beyond that you need to apply for an extension after arriving. You also need to have a return ticket already booked or an onward ticket to show them. Lastly, you need to have your E travel online form filled out and QR code ready to show them. Good luck!
