The comment of someone who studied in UP.Diliman is correct. Don't compare those in the Visayas to Luzon like Pangasinan Ilocos and especially igorot and Pangasinan Ilocano because they don't depend on their husbands but we are fair to our wives. .haha those work hard.😀

another problem I think with older ex- pats is (myself included) is we want the young woman, but we complain that we have to support her, and to a certain extent, her family, then we complain if she’s not helping out financially.. I struggled with this as I’ve been married 8 years now, and live here on my social security, savings, and investments.. but then I realize she is far more valuable in our marriage as a homemaker , like a lot of foreigners will complain if their pinay works full time and time together is limited.. you can’t have it both ways, I prefer my wife to take care of the house, if she worked full time I would be bored and lonely..I think that’s a major reason a lot of ex- pats fail here, no friends, family, different culture, wife is gone all day, you need to adapt and develop different interests here to keep you occupied, otherwise you are setting yourself up for failure.

I've been to over 80 countries and have dated women in many of them. The main problem I had with Filipinas - apart from most of them being short (I'm 180 cm so I like tallish women around 168-170 cm. They do exist in PI but the majority are short, and I mean like 148 cm short) - is that they are simply not interesting to talk to. It's often hard to carry on a conversation with them. You'll have to do most of the work to keep the conversation going with them just giving short or one-word answers, and unless you keep talking it will just die out. Whch can be exhausting/draining. The other thing is that many of them have so little life/travel experience or general knowledge of the world outside their daily life that they simply don't have much to say. If you're okay with that, fine you can find plenty of women like that there and who will describe themselves on dating profiles, for example, as "I am simple" as their only 3-word self-description. I've seen a lot of older Western guys in relationships with much younger Filipinas (20s) with an age gap of 30-50 years and it's more like a father or grandfather-young daughter/grandaughter relationship with the guy talking to his young gf like he would to a 10-year old girl back home. Again, if you're okay with that you'll find many desperate impoverished young women in PI who will fit the bill. But don't be surprised if their only interest in you is as a walking ATM. For many such women life in PI is about survival, and you are simply a means to their survival, like a 401k plan or a substitute for an employer if they don't have a job.

There’s a definite money trap you can fall into by developing a relationship with a Filipina & her family, if you’re a foreigner. I am 190 cm (6'3", I think) and I can relate to everything you state. What I can add to your list, is: "I am poor" (with having at least 1 kid and often more). I always ask them (single mothers) what happened. And they cant just seperate cause/causation from that the guy now has a new girlfriend. "Why did he leave you?". They cant answer that question bec they dont ask that question to her former boyfriend (something to do with hiya; losing/saving face)

IMHO there are many headwinds against a newly arrived expat when it comes to dating and finding a partner. First as a mature Western man around 60 it's very difficult to find a partner in your same age bracket as most are married, separated or have other issues that preclude a relationship. So what you might find is a 28 year old who is half your age. Yes, we speak the same language but our cultures are very different, her generational values are also different, it's more difficult to find a partner here than many think. My advice is to take the first 6 months and just try to learn the culture and your new surroundings. Take time to really think about what you want this new life to look like and what you are really seeking in a partner. Then start your search and don't compromise on what you really want, stay the course until you find exactly what you are seeking, it's worth the work in the end.

My very first encounter (online) with the Philippines (Filipinas) dates back to 2009. There were positive and negative encounters. It was also my first encounter with what a poor woman will and can do to try to get money from a foreigner (and being a complete stranger). Those experiences resulted in starting my own research regarding the Philippines. And there is really no need to watch any TH-cam channel to get that information. [ So far, I havent heard anything new from all existing TH-cam channels. And to add: all those TH-cam channels do NOT go very deep.].
Yes, there is a difference between reading and knowing things and really experience those things while being in that country. Especially when getting faced with real poverty (squatter homes and other simple build homes/'shelters'). Never been there but it seems that Tondo (Manila) is the worst place to be.
      In short:
everything about the PH culture can be found without watching any TH-cam channel. Just use Google (Blogs written by and from local people; instead of Vlogs by a bunch of foreigners who think they are god and experts), Wikipedia, other sources.

She said with in a few years she fell in love with me. 😮 She learned about why I thought very foriegn to her. She actually adapted to my culture more. So special. We meshed after 5 years and enjoy each other's company more than anything else. Fully in love now. It's almost sickening if it wasn't us.
Our favorite thing is still a weekend together in bed. I'll prepare the whole week. I dont mean sex, but thats part of it. I mean love nest with her favorite items. Mostly watching movies and shows. Listening to movies while cuddling.

My opinion is, most men who go there, have an unrealistic idea of what being in a relationship (or love) is. Guys always talking about not spending money on a woman and "if she ask for money, leave." All while going to a poor country. On top of that, they don't want to conform to Philippines culture. They want Philippines to adjust to them. There is a reason most men left. It's not because they had unlimited options in whatever country they come from. I've seen interviews from guys who want to find a woman to go 50/50 and travel the world with(in the philippines? ). Seen guys talk about finding good women and meeting their parents, to only break up after 1 night of sx because "they didn't click." The reasons are endless. But I'll watch now to see what they say.

Thanks Chad you are the first TH-camr who has addressed properly this lack of connection and the way many comments especially jokes and banter go over their heads and even can insult them. This has been my major issue with Filipinas since I started talking to them some years ago now. Often it leads to boredom or tiredness because I feel like I am carrying the conversation a lot. I sometimes wonder if the creation of emotional drama has the function of creating interest in the absence of more conversational interest that we in the west are used to. Which is another Faultline between foreigners and Filipina. All that said a good Pinay is still streets ahead of most western women even with these issues.

I met a girl in the Phillipines. Shes one of the best people I have ever met. She always checks on me and when were together she makes sure im eating healthy food and regularly going to the dentist and doctor. Ive tried to find reasons to "not trust" her because im paranoid by nature but I cant find any so far. I will say, the American and Filipino culture is very different, and that may be why its hard for some guys to find love there. I know the Filipino customs and culture well because my dad is a Filipino immigrant. The people there are very different their culture is different and it can be strange sometimes to Americans who are not used to it. Also, I think many women there are a little wary of western men because of our reputation.

If anything I'm constantly telling Filipinas I'm not interested in being in a relationship. They are always bewildered by this notion and can't fathom how a 36 year old decent looking American guy can stay single here. I've dated a few women here and there since I've been in the Philippines.. I'm just not as enamored by them as the older generations are I suppose. I'm also not fond of the idea of possibly having to support a bunch of their family while they sit around and drink Tanduay and Red Horse all day. There's plenty more I could do with that money 😂. I really enjoy my alone time as well and doing what I want without having to answer to anyone. To each their own though.

Fantastic commentary on several points. I used to tell guys in Thailand... it takes a while to figure out exactly what you truly want, and its very easy to go for the first pretty face that smiles at you. Do you really want a traditional girl? Do you really want a wild bargirl that's great in bed? As western men, we're not used to an abundance of options with mates, so we never ask ourselves the question, "what qualities would lead to long term happiness and connection?" Second, I've also told guys to stop using sarcasm as a form of humor in Asia... its just not something they tend to engage in. I always use the example, the funniest man in Asia is Mr Bean... silly, childish, obvious humor works... subtle, sarcastic or even self deprecating humor does not. Be simple, obvious and direct with jokes. Lastly, remember that tampo > a shrew in your house vocalizing her every dissatisfaction with what she feels you've done wrong... remember that. Be grateful, it could be worse.

Thanks for your views Chad. I Have been living in the Philippines for a number of years. The problem is supply and demand. I realize you can't talk about this on your channel. If you do, unfortunately you won't have a channel. The only filipinas available to
foreigners are separated, have children, midgets (under 5 feet tall), or filipinas you really don't want to look at. That's it, that is the selection. If you can go with a filipina that has one (or more) of those attributes, you are good to go. No, there are not a lot of desirable filipinas here that have any desire to hook up with a foreigner of any age.. I know the mantra of "relationship based" Philippines channels is there are desirable women in the Philippines. It's over buddy. Unless of course you are open to; separated, have children, midgets (under 5 feet tall), or filipinas you really don't want to look at.
Nope, if a foreigner is sending money to someone he hasn't met, then you might be communicating with a married scammer or in some cases it could possibly be a male. Don't do it. It is a fake profile.
Keep in mind beauty is objective. Wait, isn't beauty in the eye of the beholder? No, that is a lie. All the beholders will agree on what beauty is. Well, aren't there guys that want to be single? Of course not. Every man wants the exact same thing. They want a beautiful women that will make their life better. What about; separated, have children, midgets (under 5 feet tall), or women you really don't want to look at? Chances are those women won't make their life better. Then of course there are the pr**teasers. No, that won't work. She must be willing for you to lay that pipeline.
Dating casually? Those guys aren't dating women they want. Why not date someone desirable? Well, that is the problem I explained above. Chad, I realize you will probably delete this comment. If not. Any questions?

Older guys generally have an advantage in knowing who and what they want without the desire to play dating games to get it, which makes them more likely to succeed and the Filipinas know this. Culture and language certainly complicate the equation with regard to communications which is why it is so important to clearly state (and frequently reinforce) your feelings and intentions. There was a really cute girl working at the help desk at the mall and so I'd chat here up often. One day, I crept up on her and found her doodling on paper my name over and over which I found a bit worrying but I ended up going to her her family house in Tondo, a very poor area of Manila. She had a twin sister which I found so strange because they'd do Karaoke and she'd sing love songs while looking into my eyes making me feel like they both were in love with me! Then I found out her Dad was a cop which scared me to death. I went to a graveyard with them on Halloween, the journey was so long but I was in the middle with a twin on either side. We spent all night there, lots of people, a Dunkin Doughnuts van, I was confused! Later on my ex g/f found out about this girl and started going to the mall and bullying her. I got in a shit load of trouble with the family and was dragged to the top of the mall and lots of people sitting around a big table discussing this scandal they kept repeating. My Dutch neighbour came along for support but his funny way of talking kept making the Dad think he was making fun of the situation causing him to shout "I'm PNP!" All these people gathered here for me? Seriously though, always avoid the police there. Very dangerous, all are corrupt. And never do anything wrong because they will come after you if they think they can squeeze money out of you. One time I had a minor disagreement with some guy and suddenly he throws himself on the floor and claimed I punched him! It was so pathetic and nobody believed him. I was stopped in a taxi where the cops suggestd I had drugs in my cigarette box. This was my cue to say here's 2000 pesos but I didn't understand at that time so I said nothing and they gave up. Just avoid the police and any disputes or losing your temper. Be kind, don't get offended, be generous if you can, enjoy yourself at the beaches and avoid the cities which are the worst in the world, absolute disaster in every way, no green spaces, no traffic laws, polluted black fumes, smells of urine in the heat, houses own the pavement in front so they selfishly put a giant plant pot or some crap there so people are forced to walk in the road, every bar, eatery, mall, etc is foreign owned but why? I once saw a big poster in a shop window that read something like Buy 2 drinks for 100p or 4 for 200p and pointed it out to my companion, laughing. The taxi driver snapped "if you don't like it go home to your country" We didn't mean to offend and obviously love the natural beauty of the country but the people are terrible at business and corruption runs deep to the core and the government banning birth control so that a family of ten can not find jobs and live well, many going hungry I think they should be doing as well as Thailand with tourism but they can't seem to get their shit together and it's painful to watch. I asked a young waiter if he had kids, yes 7. He's a young guy about 24. I hate to see people struggle every day and have no opportunities. It's always corruption and religion all over the world causing pain and suffering. I befriended a girl, just friends. She had 9 younger siblings and had to send money back home for their education. Still, she was a pleasure to talk with and clever, very funny. We used to go snorkling and pretend we were getting it on, with our snorkles it must have looked funny to everyone walking along the path because they were pointing and laughing! So much responsibility on her shoulders and still her spirit was strong and she always had a smile. I miss that person, God I hope she's ok. I hated the young foreign guys who didn't deserve her time, if she was born in a wealthy country she would be so succesful i'm sure. If I could go back in time i'd try to save her.

You see these guys in the mall in Robinsons just sitting aimlessly and wondering why I have the hot Chick in my arms. You have to be adaptable and mingle with the locals. Filipinas love it when you can go to their house and meet their parents. Can you survive the province life? Can you adapt and bathe with pozzo water? Can you live with the locals and forget all your luxuries in the west? Can you drink thuba at night with locals whilst mosquitoes are sulking your blood dry😅😂? Can you ride the Jeepney with the locals? If so, you get a girl within minutes😂. Some of these guys come here and are maate. The other thing I found is.....approach the ladies in the malls, markets, stores, resorts,..... You will eventually find a good filipina .

actually no I would definitely not say that. It's not about having game it's just about having the confidence and willingness to just say hello and start chatting with someone. Girls here recognize and appreciate a nice genuine easy-going guy a lot more than they appreciate that back in the west. So just be yourself. it's just that many guys don't feel comfortable going up to someone and don't act like themselves when they do... especially if a girl is super cute lol

All of us human have individual differences in culture, personality, upbringing, and many other factors of life we are in. One thing Filipinos are, we are family oriented culture and loyal to you if you are to her. There’s so many successful stories of Filipina married to a foreigner. Advise to all foreigners, before making a decision to come to live in the Philippines, ask yourself if you are 100 percent ready, financially, emotionally and can adjust to the culture and the climate? Then, you can try first to stay for a short vacation and getting the feeling, if you like it or not to stay in the Philippines. Don’t bash the Philippines if you’re plan doesn’t work because you don’t do your homework. Just a saying…

Provincial Filipino girls are very simple girls, they are not worldly at all, their main concerns are eating and having a roof over their heads and of course their family is extremely important to them. Forget deep conversations, it will never happen.
Their strengths are that they are homely, will look after you, washing, cleaning , cooking and looking after their man is instinct for them. They are fun, they laugh and they will love you. There are ladies that dont want to spend your money, they just want love and support too. They are extremely loving, if you meet a keeper , keep her, you wont be unhappy in any department . They are gorgeous too in that exotic way.
Western woman they are not, choose wisely, there are many options and opportunities , even in the shopping mall .

Wow. Almost all the women you show in the video are why we want to go there. It's not just the looks, it's how cheerful and the overall attitude exuding from them. With social media being so popular there, what surprises me is the lack of obvious narcissism, like we see with the gals hooked on social media in the west.

I noticed many Filipinas get bossy pretty quick after marriage. So if retired and living there it maybe better to date or rent. Tampo is a mental problem! Like about fifty years ago I was returning to marry, the night before the day She stopped talking and would not get out of bed until we were an hour late. So she silent into the CR I packed my back pack and walked out. So I was actually saved by tampo. I surely do not want to be in marriage with tampo. I think it is insecurity and to get control of the relationship. One thing you might try if a girl friend does this leave for a week without her let her stew about it. Then show up if you really miss her and see how she acts. Another thought I had was perhaps the lady that does the tampo has had so many men ( high body count ) that does not trust men any longer.

I hear more about it on TH-cam than I do in real life, and I've never had to deal with a whole lot. Maybe it's because I don't tolerate garbage behavior in general. Anyway, I don't think tampo is that much of a thing here -- at least not as much as people on TH-cam are led to believe -- and it's not because I live in an expat bubble. I don't. Then there are the parents and relatives, if they are poor, you are and your GF are their ATM. So while it is easy to find an instant girlfriend it may not really be a relationship like in the west that has more depth. So I don't think it is hard to find a GF, it might be hard to find a real relationship.

Honestly I’ve been all around the world maybe I’m one of the lucky guys but I live in the Philippines and I’m having a hard time not having too many gfs . I’m finding myself saying “damn this is too many” been with my first gf for 3 years and the other 3 for a year and a half. Btw they know I’m polygynist they All have good jobs don’t beg for money and they are all Smokin hot. If u continue letting women control the narrative u lose. All of them tried tempo and I didn’t budge they realized and got their mind right, I always say it’s either my program or u have to go mam bc I’m doing a lot for them all so it’s not like they aren’t in a good situation. Stop being a weak man, who falls for the woman’s ultimatums. Women are very big bluffers, stand your ground and show her her decisions aren’t the choices that leads to great results for her. In general I’m the better logical decision maker and when they try to go off on their own they realize life was much better with me. Stop letting women control u with their emotions, it’s the same the Adam let eve do. Y’all also are forgetting women do a lot of irrational ish on their periods.

Much better to find a Filipina who has good English skills. The call center girls and office girls are your best bet.

Personally, before I even think about a girlfriend, I want to get there and get acquainted with the different areas to see where I might want to live or stay long-term.
I'm thinking about northern Luzon in the province, I'm not a city life type of person.
And that could take several months before I'm ready to settle into one place.
I'll be 63 when I get there, and I'm not in a hurry to get into a relationship.
I've been single since 2002, and I haven't dated since my divorce. My priority was to raise my son and daughter and make sure they have proper moral values and good ethics.
Both are grown now and have family's of their own and are doing great.
If I meet someone and we are compatible then great, if not then that's OK to.
But my purpose for wanting to retire in the Philippines isn't just to hook up, its to have a better quality of life than I can have here in the USA.
If I want to retire here then I would probably have to work until I die.

I'm not sure that is why I take my time and travel, so I can get a feel for the area and also to meet and get to know the local people.
I'm the type of person who usually gets along with most people, I'm very patient and tolerant.
I'm kinda loner, and my idea of good time is riding one of my old shovelhead Harleys (1978 flh chopper/bobber and a 1982 flt) in the mountains, and the countryside.
      (Alone or with friends)
I'm not into the party or nightclub seen.
And I really enjoy country living and taking life as comes.
I will add the mountains anywhere. Would it be great, If you have any suggestions for me to check out, let me know.
      Thanks

@@rjoetting7594 I would suggest somewhere other than the Philippines but if you do, take time to check out as many places as possible. Riding here is not all that great except in some provinces where the roads are decent and not much traffic.
Only problem with the provinces is lack of access to good healthcare. Other than in a few hospitals in Manila or Cebu you have little chance of survival if you have a stroke or major accident. And even there it's iffy as traffic is so bad it might take 2 hours to go 10 miles (cars hardly give way to emergency vehicles)
