      That kindness to me is suspicious. Where did that sister learn racism? Is not genetic it's a learned stupidity. The mom married a passing latino with a non passing daughter. That story isn't complete. Op left a lot out about that stepmother and her true colors

    • @wolfskinchanger
      @wolfskinchanger 10 หลายเดือนก่อน +3

      @@chandramiller5119 It was briefly suggested that the stepsister may have learned it from her bio-dad, and it was stated that stepmother's previous marriage had ended in divorce; although OP didn't want to speculate, these two things may not be unrelated.
      Nevertheless, OP did say flat out that she "ended up seeing that woman more as a mother"; IMO that says good things about stepmom's 'true colors'.

      @wolfskinchanger you are right! I had missed that the sister had a brief moment with her bio father when I first listened. It makes me sad that the parents didn't do more to correct or reprogram that horrible way of thinking. It's counter productive and hurtful. In the end it will limit her life experiences

    Switching the dress was probably going too far, and probably unnecessary considering that exposing the infidelity had a far larger effect, but if OP paid for the dress even after being replaced as MoH (setting aside that the MoH shouldn't have to pay for the bride's dress in the first place), then I can't honestly say I blame her.

    ESH. first of all, Emily is a racist AH and had no right to treat OP the way she did. I have some problems with OPs dad and stepmom being so oblivious to the way Emily was treating OP, and especially OPs dad. OP did give her dad and Stepmom a heads up about how strange it was that she was asked to be MOH. And she even came right out, and both of these people had to admit that there were some red flags. But they insisted on not letting OP nope out of the honor because "family". Well, so far up till now I was seeing things OPs way. As far as what happened on the whole dress thing, OP did nothing wrong speaking to a friend while out with her sister. And I feel like Emily never was sincere about the MOH offer. I am not quite sure why OP was expected by everyone to pay for the wedding gown either. I can tell you right now I personally think that OP should have told Emily after her little racist outburst and the demotion from maid of honor that the dress was not coming out of her pocket and either the new Maid of Honor could pay for the dress or little miss bride would pay for it herself, but this girl isn't buying a gown for a racist POS.
    I have some problems with OP for not walking away from the mess right then and there, telling her family that she was not going to be the maid of honor or pay for miss lily whites wedding gown, and oh, by the way her is a video I took of Emily at the bachelorette party making out with her grooms brother and I forwarded that to him before I came in here to tell you that you raised a racist and a cheater. I think the whole dress thing was pretty stupid and childish really OP. I actually think it was good that you let the groom know about Emily. In fact I don't even fault you for showing the video publicly at the wedding the way you did. That I did not feel was too far, but the messing with the dress thing was sucky because it was actually so beneath you.

    Everyone sucked in this story. Emily sucked for being racist (nothing wrong with her dating preferences but treating OP and OP's black friends like that is unacceptable), the parents sucked for not dealing with their daughter's racist attitude, and OP sucked for just going off to meet her friend (even for 5 minutes). While it is petty to kick someone out of the bridal party for going off for 5 minutes you're there for the bride. I personally can't imagine leaving my bride to be sister to go meet a friend regardless of how long it was 🤷🏾‍♀️
    I originally thought it was wrong for her to steal the dress but at the end of the day OP paid for it so it's hers. Emily should've learned not to bite her sister's hand 😂

    • @Justin-A-Carter
      @Justin-A-Carter 10 หลายเดือนก่อน +4

      I agree with you saying that everybody sucks here. I hear jealousy from the original poster. I hear racism from the original reposter. The girl has a preference of who she wants to date. Maybe she likes blonde haired boys. That's up to her that's her preference. This original poster is just as racist if not more so than the sister. She was judging the sister on her preference of what men she liked.... she has a lot of hang ups for being biracial. And I think she really does not like white people...
      This is a two-way street of racism. And know that dress was not hers because she gifted it to the bride. Once you gift something to somebody it's no longer yours. That's what you giving somebody something for Christmas and turning around and stealing it and saying "well you know I bought it."

      @@Justin-A-CarterOMG, there is nothing two ways about it. Calling Op racist is ridiculous. She has friends NOT based on their skin color, and she doesn't make disparaging comments about other people because of their physical appearance. Her hang up isn't about being biracial. her "hangup" is how people are being treated color. Stop with the made up whataboutism.

    This story made me angry. The OP was a mess and so was her sister. Your skin is not a flaw so don't be ashamed of it. You are blessed to have color to your skin. Your sister was upset she didn't have her father, that was a personal problem that had nothing to do with you. But you should have a talk with your step mom, racism is a learned skill of foolery. Your stepmother will know where your sister learned it from. Your revenge with the dress was unnecessary as well as your showing her infidelity in public. You could have shown the boyfriend the video in private and ruined her quietly. You fed some of the stereotypes people enjoy spreading about us as WOC. I know it's hard to combat them out in town and then to have to fight them within the family with no real buffer has to be just as hard, but you were given the task because the universe knew you could handle it with grace. Do better sis. You will make it worse if you continue to go about things in a combative way. Walk away and allow her to look like the foolish garden tool she is.
