Yeah, it's obvious that MiL didn't work through her grief instead she clung to her son to the point of willing to murder any woman that was his partner. Specially when her tactic to cause cracks in the relationship didn't work. She tried to get her son to not see op and strain the relationship. When her son went to op and saw they made up she was furious that her attempt didn't work. I'm not surprised that she kept getting worse and kept trying to run op out of house only to get more upset that nothing was working. It was on her that her son now saw what she tried to do and typical that she blames op as she believes op is the intruder and ruining her relationship with her son. She kept stewing in her issues to the point she figured she had to kill op to get op out of the picture. I'm not surprised that she continued to blame op for her son kicking her and had the stupidity to stalk them then try to ruin op's car as some sort of "revenge" not expecting to get caught. I love op's husband for threatening his egg donor to get her to NEVER come near them again plus got a restraining order. MiL brought it upon herself, all because she didn't work through her grief and instead clung unhealthy to her son to the point she goes psycho when he got married to op. She's now facing consequences of now lost her son and will NEVER see her grandkids but that's on her not op nor anyone else.

There are many families who have a restriction on calling the police on family. Have met them. So no not far fetched.

Susan is wicked. She has to understand that just because the house she and John lives in was built by her husband, doesn't mean that OP can't date John. Children dating is normal in life, and no doubt a similar situation occurred with Susan and her own parents. Change is hard, but life always moves forward, and nobody likes someone who impedes progress.
As for Susan claiming OP took her son away? No, that was entirely on her. John is not a doll that Susan can play around with 24/7. He's a human being and deserves time with his wife. Now, OP seemed fine with John spending time with Susan. The issue was Susan bullying OP for something that was a COMPLETELY NORMAL THING TO DO. This situation happens to almost EVERYONE somewhere down the line. And for faking an emergency!? How cruel! That's taking advantage of not only OP, but John as well. They're both victims.
At this point, Susan should just be happy to have an allowance and not having to spend her life inside of a jail cell all day. OP and John would've let Susan stay so long as she accepted that her little boy was growing up. But instead, Susan didn't like that her baby (who was 35 for crying out loud) was taking the next step in life, and she lost her son by trying to split up a wife who understood the situation.
I understand Susan's feelings, but that didn't give her the right to do what she did. At all.

I'm so glad your husband stepped up to protect you. From personal experience I know it doesn't always turn out that way. After an assault from my MIL while holding my 9 month old son my husband decided to let her come back after 2 days. I left him, and took our son to stay with my grandmother out of state and had to say her or us, but I REFUSED to put our son in danger and I was devastated and flabbergasted he didn't stand up for me OR our son! 5 Days later, he called and assured me she was gone so I went home. He didn't go no contact but kept her away from me. We slowly started talking again as she truly does love our kids and I know she wasn't in her right mind because it was COMPLETELY out of character for her and whatever she felt towards me would never intentionally put her grandson in danger. She's mellowed through the years is now 90 and we get along great.. that was 20yrs ago and we've invited her to move in with us as she's by herself and we live out of state and worry. She's moving in this summer.

Wow... those are serious blinders she had on. The moment the mom didn't cook for her and cooked for them it was flat out a declaration of war. I was actually thinking... oh no... she is going to put something in her food or drink. At least they were smart enough to have those cameras. The only surprise was she got the mommas boy away from the momma. This whole thing could have been sorted faster if he woke up sooner.

    Aftermath:
The MIL has been calling and harassing the OP so the husband stopped all of the allowance and cut ties with his mother and the mother's husband divorced her. He ended up going crazy and went to her son's house and tried to attack and this is when the OP attacked her with a bat in self defense and the mother was sent to an asylum never to be seen again.

The funny part of the story is how you're being attacked by a person who's drunk with a bat and a bottle in their hand and the first thing you think to do is say what are you doing rather than protecting yourself. The technically most people would do that.

So he still sends his mother an allowance. After she tried to murder his wife, I would leave him because as soon as that baby's born he's going to want his mummy back in his life He will be making excuse after excuse after excuse. His Mummy will always be number one.

I call bs. The biggest clue is a month after the bat incident she said she was two months pregnant. That meant she would’ve only been a month pregnant when she was in the hospital. One would think she found out at the hospital she was pregnant but she said “we were planning on announcing it at Christmas “ so they knew. Her being a month pregnant she wouldn’t have had signs to even think to test. She would’ve barely missed a period and that’s way too early to have a home test be accurate. Unless she went to the dr every month to test, no way.
