If I could ever have a wish granted by a magical being, it would be to get me back to when I was a 10 year old playing Pokemon and having absolutely no other worries on my mind other than what Pokemon to add to my party...
Take me back to those days of hearing Eterna Forest for the first time. When I heard Eterna Forest theme in Legends Arceus, nostalgia hit me, it took me back to when I was 7 playing Diamond for the first time
9:14 is the music you didn’t know you missed until you hear it again. What a time, what a life. We always wonder about who we will become but I wonder if the kid that used to play Pokémon all day long is proud of what I’ve become.
Eterna City man. Takes me back to the times of being in elementary school, finishing up my homework, and then finding the time to play on my DS. The greatest of times, if only we could go back.
i remember i had this song in mind for at least a decade, then i went on a deep nostalgic dive into pokemon song to find it again. One of the best songs in videogames!
gen 4 was my brothers favorite gen and I will never forget me being a kid and going to the top bunk of the bed and watching him play diamond. THANK YOU!!!
Hoenn is adventurous, catastrophic and competitive. Unova is mysterious and both modern and ancestral. But Sinnoh is *serene*, spatial and powerful. Arceus bless you.
The music of DPPt really helped make Sinnoh feel like a real region. Quiet coziness early on, evolving into immense grandure as you complete your journey. I started with Kanto and put the most hours into Hoenn but Sinnoh will always feel like home to me
Listening to this music fills me with a profound melancholic sadness. There will never be a pokemon generation quite like Gen 4 ever again, but man am I glad I was there to experience it when I was a kid.
26:30 man... Ill never forget this day from my childhood. I was supposed to have a football game this day, but my mom told me it got cancelled due to snow. 5 min later me drinking happily my chocolate drink, I enter Route 216 and hear this banger...
ah,,, now you're reminding me how i used to walk to my boyfriend's house trudging through the snow with this song on, and then we went and played platinum together and made it to this exact part. i was showing them for the first time >:D
Will never forget sharing gen 4 with my older brother. He got Diamond, I got Pearl. He never really got into Pokemon like me, so I'm sure it's just a distant memory for him. But I'll never forget those times.
Man, same here. My older brother and I always got the opposite versions, except Platinum. I believe it was the first game we each had, but I was too young to remember much. To this day, I can't remember if my first game was Platinum or Black, but I love both so much. Some of my best memories from my childhood are just my brother and I battling each other or playing together, mostly in Heart Gold and Soul Silver
Same here omg! I always was the more "gaming-fascinated" sibling. I always hoped my brother also had fun playing Pearl (I had Diamond, later Plat). Now, he's working in banking & finance, never really played any games (he's 26 as well) since then. Meanwhile I love looking back at this time. The only time, where my brother and I were playing the SAME game. What I know now is, that this time was a once-in-a-lifetime thing... I don't think that he has ever looked back at this time of life. I don't think it holds as much of importance to him, as it did and does for me :(
Reading these comments is moving me to tears. And the Professor Rowan theme will always make my heart soar. No matter how many other things I find myself getting deeply deeply into, I always come back to the Pokémon gen 3 and gen 4 games. Those ten cartridges feel like home.
Pokemon diamond, pearl, and platinum. These games are ingrained within my memory and never fail to bring back good memories of wonder and excitement. I think what really adds the silver lining is the music. It is just perfect, in my opinion. A lot of the tracks and themes in the game are quite melancholy, I would literally just go to the lake next to the hometown to listen to the music. Tell me I have rose-tinted glasses on, sure, but I believe the reason they failed to remaster these games is because newer games just fail to capture that same ambience and mysterious qualities diamond pearl and platinum have. There is much less hand holding -- I spent 2 weeks stuck after beating the fourth gym in diamond because I had no idea that you had to go back to hearthome city. Call it bad game-design (maybe a little), call my child brain tiny (very much so) but these quirks are what made these games so memorable. Thank you for all the good times Sinnoh
In my opinion the best tunes will always be in Sinnoh, it was the first Pokemon game I have ever played, there's something about it that makes me very happy every time I listen it to
Reviewing for my midterm exams, currently, I am a 3rd yr Medical Technologist student and the last time I listened to this was when I was still in highschool and also when I was grade 4 in elementary level. Nothing but just pure golden memories and emotions the Pokemon company has given me.
The route songs are so well made. I feel like those were the ones I heard the most because I was always exploring them trying to battle everybody and find secrets
13:21 This track always takes me back to 2009, staying up late, trying to shiny hunt. Immediately closing my DS when i hear parents walk by my room. I sometimes would fall asleep while listening to it.
Still crazy to imagine this music being "nostalgic". I've been playing pokemon since I was a toddler, and the gen 4 games feel so recent still. I remember booting up my copy of pokemon diamond at my old house, when my little sister was a baby, my dad worked a completely different job, and I had just started middle school. Now my sister is an adult, my mom's old company dissolved and she started her own business, my dad got promoted to a VP position at his company, and I've been a high school teacher for several years, but I'm currently studying to transition to tech. Crazy how so much has changed, but these games still feel so new.
Pokemon OSTs are worth listening to no matter what gen you started. I discovered pokemon when I was about to enter preschool in 2001 thanks to the anime and gameboy releases, but I got hooked with Pearl around in 2008 when I had my first DS as a gift. I remembered looking forward finishing classes to go home and cook more poffins to my buddy empoleon. Now as a tired adult in twenties, I am glad to listen to these nostalgic pieces that give me a sense of peace from daily struggles. I just imagined my pokemon buddies were cheering by my side to never give up during these hard times.
all these songs remind me of when I realized I needed to get my act together and be the man everyone already expected me to be, these songs remind me of how my inner child succumbed to social guillotine and I had to butcher that young boy to become the man that I am right now, focused and collected, mindful of others and respectful. back then, I was going through a break up, the most important breakup of my life and these songs soften me up and caressed my soul long enough for me to endure the pain of going through something as traumatic as the break up of a loved one. I dont miss those times, I miss myself been so innocent and free of the pains life has put me through, this is what nostalgia represents for me.
No matter how far I drift into the boundless future, hearing these melodies will never fail to bring me back to those days. In an instant, I recall the sights, smells, and sounds of my youth. I will remain eternally grateful for this franchise and all that it has done.
Thank you for this nostalgia trip. Sinnoh is the best region fight me and also Diamond was my second pokemon game I played. Later I got Platinum and played the living crap out of it. Good times, I was humming along to all these master pieces, great selection!
So many bangers in this generation, even better than gen 3. For me, Pokemon franchise ended here. I must say, it has been quite a beautiful journey. Pokemon always had a way to enter in my heart, maybe because I really loved it when I discovered almost as a baby, and I growed with it... I don't know but I am so grateful I am living this era, I can't keep my tears...
Man I remember back in 2009 school was out one weekday and both my parents had to work so they had me stay at a neighborhood parent’s house. I played Pokémon platinum from gym 3 to victory road from the morning I was dropped off till evening. I still remember myself on that couch playing 15 years in the future 🖤
The fact that this had to end made everyone of us appreciate this songs more today. An eternal cicle of adults with kids who who will also create their memories, but this time we are the older ones.
Gen 4 is the best generation of Pokemon. Pokédex was at an all time best with new evolutions of old gen Pokémon and the whole Sinnoh region felt like a grand adventure. Gen 4 has the best music as well.
I started with the originals, and loved gen 2 a lot, yet somehow I am most nostalgic about my time playing Platinum. There was something special about it... and the music is so lovely.
Wasn't my first pokemon game, but it was the first one I was old enough to be appreciative of -! Love having this music on almost weekly now in the background, thank you!
Ive been a huge Pokénerd since I was a kid. Had lots of trading cards and plushies lol. Pokémon Platnium was the first Pokémon game I'd played when I was 8 years old. Sinoh will always have a very, very special place in my heart 🥰
Gen 4 was the game i first made it into the top 10 worldwide i am so thankfull for that experience. I never followed my talents cause i refused to play tournaments but im glad i was up there competing with the best. Some of those battles live in me forever and make me who i am now. ❤
I am now 20 years old and haven't played platinum wich was my first ever ds game in like 9 years but I'm still wondering what these japanese fckrs where smoking when they came up with these bangers
I miss a time in which I wasnt too happy. I was just a lonely kid with no friends with a nintendo ds crying when I got excluded by my classmates. But looking back and relistening to these songs, I feel so sad that time passed. Is that how nostalgia works?
By far the best music out of the entire series, and it's due to one person, Hitomi Sato. 80% of the music is done by her. My pokemon diamond was stacked. Had maybe 97 percent of every pokemon legit. Had stound 7 or 8 shinies that i caught legit. Transfered all my pokemon from emerald as well which was 100 percent complete
i’ve always had a fascination with this generation after playing legends arceus. I’ve never played a game older than moon and i always wanted to play older, more iconic games. i just bought every gen 4 and 5 game a couple hours ago and im so excited to see this beautiful world and all its glory.
Interesting to read as someone who started in gen 1-3 back in the day. Sometimes the older games can be frustrating to have an hm slave, not getting the running shoes for hours or even at all but I would highly recommend firered/leafgreen. To me FRLG/Emerald and X/Y were peak for sure.
I'm 14 and I only started playing pokemon since I was 11 or 12, and I'm already nostalgic about my first game pearl, and I want to play platinum so bad
Estos soundtrack me recuerdan cuando jugaba en mi ds en pokemon perla, cuando eran altas horas de la noche, pero de igual manera siempre me gusto el ambiente tan pacifico que tenia
Years ago, I was gifted a Nintendo DS as a Christmas gift and told that me and my sister (who also got a Nintendo DS) could get one game from our local video game shop. I chose Pokemon Pearl and my sister chose My Sims. I remember waking up in the late nights when I couldn't fall asleep, the times I was just an innocent kid, and playing Pearl with my stuffed animal beside me. I remember watching all of the Diamond and Pearl Anime when it was airing. I still have those intros memorized by heart. Then, I got Pokemon Black, then Black 2, then Y, and then Moon. I almost passed up on Shield because Moon left a less than desirable taste in my mouth. Seeing my own home state being somewhat misinterpreted felt wrong. Then I bought Shield, then the DLC, then Scarlet, then the DLC. It's been 16 long years since I got Pokemon Pearl. I do not have it anymore, but I still have that old DS. As well as a fresh copy of Platinum. I think it's time to go down memory lane.
what happened to pokemon my god... you can say everything you want to, no one of the recent ones can beat that music, that atmosphere, that beauty of the old ones... and it's not only about nostalgia, really, it was a piece of art, and not only entertainment... the quest of the money ruined this..
Nostalgia is the best kind of pain.
❤❤
Yeah it can be a blessing and a curse 😢
Its a holy kind of pain
soothing, at the end of it
it hurts so much, yet it feels so good
If I could ever have a wish granted by a magical being, it would be to get me back to when I was a 10 year old playing Pokemon and having absolutely no other worries on my mind other than what Pokemon to add to my party...
Yep, training them whole summer to battle friends when school opens 😊
you could just wish to be hanging with pokemon irl

My god, that music put a smile on my face. I absolutely don’t remember in what place or occasion it is, but all the musics for gen 4 was superb!
The first few notes of this song playing on repeat as I switched between routes trying to catch the traveling legendaries

Arceus is a human thing. Arceus cannot do good or bad. Arceus remaint silent forever.
@@SalutIciRobert what's your point?
What was johto and kanto ?
absolutely nailed it
Why?
