    Jon I love your clean / professional format of reviewing games! Pretty new to your channel, and I have to say that you've jumped right to the top of my preferred reviewers! Keep the games coming!

    I really like "checking with you" before I buy any game. You are always on point and that smile radiates with positive vibes

    Wow, you hit it right on the spot. I bought this game a while back. My 20 year old daughter and I played it for the first time last week. I won. But my daughter took to it right away. We watched Rodney's How to play first. She came out like gang busters kicking my butt. But I was able to catch up. I was surprised to win. You did a great job explaining the game. We love the game! They did a fantastic job designing it. I have played 7 wonders before, but this is better, not saying 7 wonders is bad but this is a great way to play it just a little different. A must buy game for 2 players. Keep up the great work with the reviews.

    Good review, One of my favorites of 2015. Bauza and Cathala did a really good job here and I am glad it isn't just a modded 7 Wonders for 2 players. Replayability-wise, I think making expansions for this shouldn't be too hard. Only time will tell. Solid 2 player game

    Thanks Jon. I've played this game 19 times - which is a LOT for me as I have a large library of games. We've had 2 military victories and one science victory. Everything about this game screams quality right down to the way everything fits in the box. If I didn't own it, I would definitely purchase it based on your review. We don't see these types of videos from you anymore which is a bit of a shame as I really enjoy them.

    My favorite two-player game of all time, hands down.

    This game has definitely got my interest. It is a great spin on the original 7 Wonders. The original was always competitive but this adds a few great new layers to make it more interesting and compelling. It works great as a 2 player competitive game. Great review Jon!
    I was never interested with the original 7 wonders whenever I played it. I feel it never worked as a 5 player game. There is usually an obvious winner which leads others to lose interest by the start of age 3. With this game however, the competitive aspect adds more immersion and even if you're losing you don't lose interest. I'm glad they didn't release this as a 2-7 player game and focused on that 2 player aspect.

    I found that, aside from victory points, the most popular way to win is science. Military is super rare because you can directly set back the opponent's progress.

    Hey Jon, I am abit suprised you don’t cover the flaw of a victory condition possible being removed by removing the cards... and a player can then go for a victory condition that is not present (the removed cards are hidden yes?). Sounds bad for me at least...

    Hi! I got a question. If a need 2 clay and dont have any myself but my opponent got 3 clay symbols. Then i pay 2+3=5 for first one i need but how about the two others? Is it 5 each for those or only 2 for those?

    • @JonGetsGames
      @JonGetsGames  8 ปีที่แล้ว

      It'd be 5 each because the penalty relates to how much clay production you have, not how much clay you currently have to spend.

      5 per clay. Unless you have the yellow card with clay reserve, then extra clay always costs 1 each.
      Also get clay production yourself- it does not lower the price but you need fewer clay then...

      +No Pun Included This game blew my socks off, I know not everyone is as enamored with it as I am but I don't see that as a reason not to gush :)

      Gushing is the equivalent for catharsis for board game reviewers!

      Hey Jon, do you still play this game a lot? Have you considered doing a Pantheon expansion review?

    • @JonGetsGames
      @JonGetsGames  7 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Phyrexious it doesn't get played much, but this is more because it's 2p only and not due to its quality. This is also due to my prioritization of new games over older ones for the channel. I did pick up Pantheon last week and hope to get some plays in with it soon :)
