Cool video! Regarding the mouse pad, I would advise leaving a few extra millimeters above, to counter the give in the foam of the mouse pad. Also, as the material ages it might start to stag a bit, meaning that it was perfectly flush at the start, your hand would start rubbing up against the edges of the indent, which would not be fun.

Tip: prep each surface of the I/O and desk with an alcohol wipe then use 3M command strips. Those things will hold anything. I've got 1 holding a 10lb power conditioner to a wall for 2yrs now. Also, closing the lid of a laptop and keeping it running will ruin the display over time. I've seen it and had it happen to many high end laptops when used as desk top replacements. The lid should remain open a few inches to allow space between the typically 60*c surface and the screen. Just simply have the laptop screen turn off when an external display is detected, much safer this way.

Motion blur is not a bad thing if implemented correctly. 24fps movies would be much worse without it, and on high fps it's almost unnoticeable if implementation is right.
And you can't get rid of motion blur that's caused by your eyes tracking pixels anyway, unless you have backlight strobing function in the monitor, which doesn't work with adaptive sync.
@@RheubenRheuben it's an option, I'd disable poorly made motion blur probably. Some games like GTA 5 have motion blur in the wrong places. It's bad when excessively applied to camera rotation, but completely disabled for actual movement, like when you drive forward in a car and it looks like you're standing still if you take a screenshot.
I would also say that an extended mouse pad is an option that should be considered. It would give the mouse something good to track on, but it would also be a good contrast to the bland desktop. It would keep the desk space nice and symmetrical compared to just a random square resting under the mouse and not the keyboard.

Could be worse, could be a UK or European company where prices are doubled, there's VAT and half again more expensive because the companies just want more money.
@@entertainmentinc9735 Cheapest gaming system on Origin is $1,537. Good try though. Also, building a PC is just as easy as building a Lego set. If you can read instructions you can do it. Its not that hard to build it your own or even expensive, just calculate the size of the pieces you will need, buy them (where they sell wood they cut them in your size for free) , connect them together with screws and a screwdriver, no tools are needed, its a looooot cheaper than buying it, (this is MDF with fake veneer, very cheap), drill the holes and you are ready to go. I wonder how much bottlenecking would happen if you were using some external drive, Lan ethernet and GPU at the same time for example. Also does latency change if system is under this kind of load.
Let's see. 4 PCIe lanes over thunderbolt supplies 40 Gbit/s. A spinny HDD isn't going to use more than 150 MB/s realistically, so that's 1.2 Gbps. LAN is another 1 Gbps. You'd still have 37.8 Gbps left for the GPU, or 94.5%.
@@stale2665 Unfortunately he is right, this is a common thing on lots of EGPU Forums, Thunderbolt 3 is bottlenecked already(excluded the CPU Throtteling Laptops just like this Razer Core is) + on top you really really don't want to add perihperals into Thunderbolt 3 devices, I am not just talking about input lag, but in general you will notice performance drops. Thunderbolt 3 isnt there yet ( I am using a setup myself for over 2 years )
@@stale2665 Thunderbolt in PCIe mode does NOT have the bandwidth of 4 PCIe 3.0 lanes. It's capped at 22Gbps, which compared to 2 lanes/16 gbps is not a big difference. The "40 gbps" is achieved by plugging in a PCIe device and 2 monitors. All this information can be found in Intel's TB3 datasheet.
@@_mkc well, that's unfortunate. It sounds like it would be more like a 10% performance loss then. However, you would probably not max out your LAN whole gaming, or it should be pretty easy to avoid at least.

The important thing is you disabled motion blur
Motion blur is not a bad thing if implemented correctly.
24fps movies would be much worse without it, and on high fps it's almost unnoticeable if implementation is right.
And you can't get rid of motion blur that's caused by your eyes tracking pixels anyway,
unless you have backlight strobing function in the monitor, which doesn't work with adaptive sync.
@@igoresque But how do you feel about disabling it?
Yeah the natural "blur" is more than enough, extra blur just hides information from you and mostly looks bad.

Instead of routing a cavity for the mouse mat just get a skin-style mat like the Razer Sphex or similar. Would look super clean.
I would also say that an extended mouse pad is an option that should be considered. It would give the mouse something good to track on, but it would also be a good contrast to the bland desktop. It would keep the desk space nice and symmetrical compared to just a random square resting under the mouse and not the keyboard.
Until you get dust and crumbs stuck to the edge of it.
@@samial-terkawihasib335 I've rocked my sphex for years now, and nothing is stuck anywhere on it. I always find it funny when they get sponsors from Origin PC. I can't imagine many people that watch a channel that does loads of DIY technology projects would buy a prebuilt. Especially not a prebuilt where half the cost goes to brand name and customer service.
And people should know from that experiment they did on the channel that origin PC has the worst prices
Nikolas Berg what’s a prebuilt ? PCs they sell at big box retailers ? Or are the ones in Origin prebuilt ?
True, anyone who is majorly into PC's builds their machine and spec's it out with the components they want, and doesn't buy off the shelf.
If it takes you a few days to build a PC you should look into seeing if you have a learning difficulty because 12-year old's can do it in a day.

2:00 EXTREMELY IMPORTANT!! LINUS YOU DID NOT MENTION THAT...some laptops do not support power delivery IN, even though the Thunderbolt 3 specification supports it.
@Kent Hinson Probably a cheap Dell, HP, ect. Also I have would have trouble believing that the Alienware, Omen, Precision, Z-Book, Thinkpad P series, or any laptop that pulls over 200W. Dell has one that power throttles on a 330W adapter. There owners say its much happier when 2X 330W (660W) are spliced together. www.techinferno.com/index.php?/forums/topic/7357-new-homemade-dual-power-supply-mod-with-wattage-meter-660w/

That M6800 was SO S - L - O - W that it could not play audio correctly out of its speakers. The i7 4900MQ operated at 0.79GHz. There was nothing I could do to get the CPU to run faster. There just was not enough power. I even did things like disable the MXM GPU in the BIOS, underclock the iGPU, and turn off the display. I just wanted just to play Spottily and could only do so thru the Bluetooth speakers. I could of tried the i5 I have but it was not worth the effort.
@@stale2665 har vi en nordmann her eller
