LOL you're a fool like 90% of "Italian-Americans" whose ancestors never even heard of the word Italy prior to being conquered in the late 1800's: "The so-called Unification of Italy in 1860 was, for the South, an invasion and occupation with as many as a million people killed; women and children massacred; men shipped north to die in a concentration camp, their numbers unknown as the bodies were dissolved in caustic lime; hundreds of thousands imprisoned without any charges or trials; torture; rape; iron works and steel mills and agriculture destroyed; railroad tracks torn up; police duties entrusted to (thereby establishing the power of) the Mafia and the Camorra; the gold from the treasury of the Spanish Bourbon Kingdom of the Two Sicilies carried north to pay off the debts of Piedmont."
@@petermartin6705 Actually, Italy has been known as Italy long before it's unification. Infact, the south of Italy was first referred to as Italy by the Greeks, before it then expanded to refer to the northern part of the peninsula also. So, yes Italian-American ancestors would certainly have heard of the word Italy for many hundreds of years before the unification. Also, the rest of what you are referring to is pretty much the history of Italy for the last 2000 years, where in which many people have conquered various parts of the peninsula and islands at one point or another, from the Greeks, to the Spanish, French, Arabs etc. It's really nothing new. So, I don't really know what kind of point you are trying to make, other than to comment on a light hearted song about things that nobody really cares about.
Peter Martin It's obvious that you feel very passionate about this issue, and indeed it sounds like a terrible time in Italian history, but i feel that you chose the wrong platform to vent your bitterness. This recording is just a couple of pals singing a lighthearted song in a charity show. There is nothing political about it at all, rather it seems to be mostly about various Italian dishes and which ones they prefer to eat. As Dean would probably say; "Hey, easy there Pallie!"

Actually, since they were born in America they are Americans of Italian heritage. The definition of an Italian is a person born in the country of Italy. I know in America, for some reason, certain ethnic groups are still referred to as the nationality of their ancestors. That's okay with me I am just making a point, and I also know that the reason may be because of a strong traditional culture . Anyway, I have never heard this song and it is fun. We are fortunate that we had the talents of Frank and Dean.
Frank & Dino had Italian blood, they were Italian. You can’t help where you’re born, like myself, both had both sets of parents that were Italian. Forza Italia🇮🇹
