Like I'm glad this exists as it is but I think if someone else was to do this concept with horror it could be interesting as something that taps into the same feeling as stumbling into one of the secret rooms in a Gmod map. It would still be really dumb if they just put a monster that chases you in it though
You can explore the entirety of the island in Wii Fit Plus (and U I think) in the Island Cycling minigame, where you ride a bike everywhere. My sister and I used to spend so much time in that minigame just exploring.

A nice idea would be to add a day/night cycle. I would also personally enjoy these ideas: - Hide and seek (a mii is hidden somewhere and you get a small view pov style of where they're hiding) - Info collecting - Miis walking around - Perhaps a small storyline between miis populating the world - Maybe a swordfight war type of situation, where there are opposing factions on the island - A way to fly - Interactables (hidden targets to shoot, vehicles, well known Miis hidden around) or minigames (racing, fishing, scavenger hunts, wildlife photography, bug-catching) - Ability to walk into buildings I think that would make this a stellar game! :)
Extremely specific anecdote: but in Wii Fit’s jogging game, they placed hidden Super Mario Bros. Sprites around the jogging paths that you would have to find. I don’t really know why, but it was one of my most favourite features of the entire game and it left a lasting impression on my experience. It would have been cool to see some sprites hidden around the island in this.

Im so thankful that this exists. I love Wuhu Island so much. You can tell that they are trying to do the same thing with Spocco Square and failing because they are not making the place interact-able in any way. I can learn facts about the square and the restaurants and stores and the things that I can do “at my leisure,” but I can’t explore absolutely anything. Yet in Wii sports resort and Pilotwings resort I can get into most nook and crannies of the island by playing the games themselves.
I like how Vinny spent God knows how long making that Grey Leno bit, but nobody is talking about it because they're just like "grandpa forgot to take his meds again"

Whether the Miis have arms, normal hands, and legs or not is very inconsistent across all the games, most of the Mii games feature both versions of the Miis in the same game. I think that probably includes Resort, I know it includes Wii Fit.
The wii fit plus cycling game also let's you free roam, it has barricades to prevent you from going places, but you can just squeeze through the cracks lol. I think that was on purpose. It was so fun, and also an intense work out to get to hidden spots
When I was a kid this was something I ALWAYS wanted to do. Will definitely be checking out and I hope the dev adds more to it before he gets Nintendon't'ed.

There’s so much you could add to this, car driving, hang gliding, airplane flying, but one thing I would love to see is other NPC miis that you can interact with or an online mode. The only thing that has gotten this close in the official games is Wii Fit Plus and it’s jogging mini game. If you can replicate the feeling of how they did that, then I’m sure it would feel like a more lively simulation.

I could honestly see this being a mod to Wii Sports Restort. You'd be able to walk around the island and when you get to a specific location a prompt will pop up to where you can select the sport associated with that location. Say you walk up to the basketball court and you can select to play a game. Kinda like Nintendo Land on Wii U, where you can swap between either using the menu to instantly choose the game or walking around the plaza and moving yourself there.

You could explore from a distance in flyover mode or feel like you were really there on the ground with set cycling routes. I wanted a combination of the two - some sort of "free cycling" mode would have been very cool now I think about it.

I do think that driveable vehicles and a bit more interactivity could be beneficial to this game. Maybe a few small minigames here and there, NPCs. It would make the island feel more "alive" (but still maybe keeping it fairly simple and not going too big with it would probably be best).
I really wouldn’t want this to be a horror game, BUT, I think a creepy Easter egg would be cool. Not smth with larger lore implications, not an ARG, just a spooky secret somewhere. I love that in games, the ghosts in Mario Galaxy, that one Animal Crossing gyroid face thing, and if this is going for nostalgia that’d be a cool little thing to add. But yeah, cars, mini games, collectibles, npcs and maybe quests would be cool. Who knows, maybe even a shop for cosmetics and items like a hang glider

Imagine a Wii Sports remaster for Switch that does this idea. Where it's just named Wuhu Sports and you explore the island, going up to NPCs for minigames or quests with store systems, and meet other Players Miis online to start teams or play against eachother. Social aspect mixed with sports.

In addition to the above, Wii Fit U had Seasonal versions of the entire island. So include autumn/winter as well.

Imagine a Wii Sports remaster for Switch that does this idea. Where it's just named Wuhu Sports and you explore the island, going up to NPCs for minigames or quests with store systems, and meet other Players Miis online to start teams or play against eachother.
Social aspect mixed with sports.

honestly an incredible idea, I wish we could see more of these for other games. I'd love to walk around silent hill maps in first person, soak in the vibes and see things from new angles

Watching this gives me the same vibes of Vinny's older streams of exploring dead MMOs or online multiplayer games from how empty it is. Really hope NPCs at the minimum are added.
if y’all like this game but want more features play Go Vacation on wii or switch! one of my fav chill games, it even has skiing and drivable jeeps (different map but same low poly nostalgic feel)

Man, this would be SO cool with NPC Miis wandering around and going about their day. Maybe some are playing sports, going for a run with their dog, riding their bikes, etc. It would really add a lot more life to Wuhu Island and make it feel... well not abandoned.

I unironically would wanna see a GTA-type free roam on wuhu island with miis, cars and everything. It would be Nintendo's family friendly version of GTA for Switch.
