I have and prefer the original S1 because of the treble/bass/reverb controls, I know where they are and there's no need to have to bend over in dim light and see what function they're currently on.
Edited 24 Dec 2024: I bought 2 Bose S1 pros+ yesterday and tried to get a good sound, I couldn't find. I took them back today and got the L1 Pro 8 which I should have done to begin with. Plus the Bose S1 Pro+ sounded tinny compared to my original S1 Pro when playing guitar though it and yes I tried everything. One more note: If you want to connect 2 of these so you get all the inputs transferred over from the main unit you have to use a cord or buy the wifi adapters. Bluetooth will only allow sound to both when paired in bluetooth from the bluetooth source. Ie. your phone.

This is a very good point. I feel a lot of companies are going for a ‘single pain of glass’ for controls and while nice it usually makes adjustments more complicated to make than less.

    Hello everyone.
I want to make an important note and ask if anyone else has this problem?
I have both models, I love the way the normal Pro sounds and that's why I wanted to go for the Plus.
I do notice that the Plus is slightly more powerful than the
    normal Pro,
    buuuut...
I notice that the new Plus model has a gate by default.
I am a flamenco guitarist and I have a quartet where we have piano and two guitars.
We always use reverb for our instruments and therefore with these instruments there are parts of the songs where we leave the chords open and together with the reverb they should stay playing until we mute the instruments.
Well that doesn't happen with the Plus
The Plus turns off the harmonics that remain before time.
A gate is activated that I imagine comes by default in this new model and it is very annoying because it doesn't let the instruments play their full range of harmonics until their natural sound ends.
Does anyone else have this problem?

    • @bobbakerclosertohomemusic8309
      @bobbakerclosertohomemusic8309 ปีที่แล้ว

I am using aux channel for acoustic guitar and channel one for vocal, leaving channel two open for an additional mic for when needed (I have a second vocalist that joins me when she can). This little unit is awesome, and I own both the Roland Cube Ex and the Fishman Loudbox Mini Charge. Personally I don't use the phone app, can use all the controls manually easily.

Actually the Bose S1 Pro does connect to the Bose connect app and that allows you to create a stereo pair between two units for Bluetooth streaming. Once they are
linked you can still use the two channels on each unit independently of the stereo pair. This is ideal for two musicians sharing a backing track.

Well good for them for making the "+" a pound lighter and adding the 1/4" input on aux-in" channel(those are 2 improvements), but (for me) every other change made the S1 worse. Music equipment that needs to be hooked up to a phone or computer is annoying. I don't want to have to carry a computer or a smartphone with me when I go pretty much ANYWHERE, and especially don't want to have to use those things when I'm in the zone, playing music. Digital/LED lights+screens are a really awful new trend that backfires big-time when you take something outside on a sunny day and realize how difficult it can be to see the details outside. -and these battery powered speakers are meant to be used outside, right?.. so I hope they keep making the original S1.

Hi! Which of the 8-inch or 6.5-inch battery-powered speakers can sound a city square near or at a great distance, like, for example, the Everse 8 in this street version? When a backing vocalist with a speaker is both nearby and from afar, his music is clearly audible. th-cam.com/video/yoybdtGrRm4/w-d-xo.html What else is similar to Everse 8? There is no need for a compact Jbl EON One. I have been using it for 3 years and have already sold it because it is twice as quiet as Everse 8. The speaker must be loud, compact and light so that the musician can transport it on a special cart (this can also be seen in the video). Will the 6.5-inch Bose S1 Pro Plus speaker be enough on such a city street th-cam.com/video/uJeYJNi0bb8/w-d-xo.html Where is another musician playing guitar and singing in Everse 8?

the crappiest thing about the Bose S1 pro and the Bose S1 pro plus, is that none are accepting phantom power in 2024 !!! that#s crap because the best acoustic guitars systems combine an internal condenser mic with a piezo, with these speakers you will be able to use only the piezo side of your acoustic guitar because of that and iI believe it sucks. #bose @bose

One important factor, you would think both speakers would pair but they don't. That was a poor marketing stunt. I will never buy another Bose product unless this changes. I mean i understand not being able to pair with a different brand but it's literally the same speaker! Why would Bose do that? I'm mad as I had an event and went with the Pro Plus not even second guessing whether or not they would pair. I bought it as it was the only one that was overnight delivery and then I get hit with a wall. Thanks Bose
