Stunning video! I love your introduction for this video as well. I also thought the distance to be a lot closer but this hiding for Lews was surprising.
Imo cast tests will vary greatly from one person to the next. Casting style, rod length and how the reel is setup make huge differences. The reels are designed to be used on a adverage 7' length rod now not shorter rods. I was actually surprised you got that distance with the curado on a shorter rod lol. Imo shimano and daiwa have the longest casting distance reels atm. But they lack in drag power for heavier power fishing techniques. Lews is more of a work horse power fishing reel company than either of the other two companies. Abu use to be in with lews but since they've decided to go lighter reels with carbon frames I don't see them as long lasting workhorse reels now unless you go higher end. What's sad is I put my shimano mgl 150 up against my older shimano slx xt and it doesn't cast as far as my slx xt does but....the slx xt does have a upgraded ceramic bearing set lol. Do that to the lews and watch it preform twice as well. The shimano curado m comes with a great set of spool bearings imo that's one reason why it will out cast the lews. The lews is also designed to cast heavier lures where the cutado m all though it can handle heavier lures is design as a more versatile reel that can handle heavier line diameter.
My casting distance is much mor affected by the rod than the reel. I have a cheap Kastking Brutus baitcaster that throws a lot further than my Tatula. Until I switch the rods they are on. Peace.
@@Voxguitarsrock place both reels on the same rod and watch the cheap made kastking fall to a daiwa tatula lol. Yes rod, line, lure weight and reel all matter in casting distance. Some reels are designed for technique specific use more so than universal use. The rods power, action and length also will effect the casting distance when paired wrongfully. Smoother smaller diameter line will cast better than larger and especially larger rough diameter line. Its a full system is what I'm saying. Some reels and especially bigger brands have been designing reels to be more universal but you still need everything right to get the best results. Most reels are actually designed used with 10 to 12lb mono and that will get you the best results the reel can do. Place it on the proper rod for the weight you're using and you'll get the best results. Most rod best loading point is in the middle of the weight range to the highest weight in that range.
@@WarEagleTheBest haha you're full of it. Micro high speed apec 7 bearings, apec 7 hybrid bearings and full apec 9 ceramic bearings 100% make a difference over a stock apec 5 bearing set. Most reels come with any where from stainless steel apec 1 to apec 3 not even apec 5 bearings. Especially budget reels. Apec 5s are generally in mid to high end reels and some come stock with high speed apec7 bearings. I have tested 100s of reels and at least a 100 in the last 3 years with and without upgraded bearings. Anytime your spool can start up easier and spin more freely you'll gain casting distance and even ease of cast with lower Weighted lures. Until you've tested many reels and various bearing types and brands it's best not to comment on the subject js 😂.
That Curado M definitely bombs! 😎🤙🏽 It’s so quick and can get you in trouble fast haha but once you dial it in it’s pretty sick. And wow man I’m surprised to see that line counter working well for you, I had to throw mine in the trash! 🤷🏻♂️😂 Line kept slipping on me wouldn’t count, had a really tough time getting it to work right and be accurate.
how about try the quantum smoke x or smoke s3, 36mm spool and 13.5g spool on the s3 and 16g spool on smoke x. The full spool with 30lb braid only weighs 22 grams for the s3
@@THEREELTEST quantum smoke hd 6.9oz, ebay $100 by simmons sporting goods of alabama or try the seasir megacuda. 36mm and 11.5g spool without bearing and alloy frame. Reel weighs 225g. If you want the smoke s3 though tacklewarehouse has em
also i think these reels are worht checking out because they have light spools capable of castig light lures but still the ruggedness and line cap for saltwater fishing which is what i use them for. i have all 3 and fish for barramundi and grouper and occasionally take these reels to fish stocked ponds for snakehead throwing 5g frogs.
I have both the bb1 throws larger baits much better and the oversized handle mates it amazing for big cranks, swim baits exc. the tournament will throw the frog much better than the pro I also have 4 of them

Love your religious quotes at the beginning. You should read my favorite Atheist's book, The Screw Tape Letters, if you haven't already. By C.S. Lewis, great read for all professing Christians...
@THEREELTEST Sorry you feel that way. But that would be even more the reason to study C.S. Lewis. Follow Christ, but know the enemy. Remember, Jesus was a Jew not a Christian. His followers started Christianity. From that, we have many religious groups that are followers of Christ. Godspeed ❤️
if thats actually true, show us a video. Seeing as you have been trying to promote LEWS in my comment section for years, i highly doubt you have any Curados

Great video! I have the current Curado M 200 and love it.
If it a Shimano..it aint shit..period..lmao...dont care HOW far it casts...got Shimanos that are over 25 yrs old..still silky smooth
Nothing can compare with shimano bearing

Daiwa long casting? 😂😂
Why is casting distance relevant at all? Did your trolling motor break?
For shore bangers. I fish at some shores where u need to be able to bomb it to get to the fish.
@@BudgetBassbroFishing ah that makes sense!
95% of fish feed close to shore, no distance needed. But nothing touchas shimano in distance esp old school shimano reels
the only people who ask that question are people who cant cast far 😆

What do you think is the difference between the Curado K and the M model is.
I go over all of that in the Curado M unboxing
also almost all lews reels these days are 36mm diameter and under 13grams btw
check again. most spools are getting smaller
@@THEREELTEST you are right ,most lews reels have 34mm spools but they are way lighter now, like sub 12g.
I’ve found the m and dc curado’s to have a weak drag, the curado k is my personal preference.
the thing about drag is that they will vary from reel to reel. you can buy 2 Curado Ms and one drag will be different than the other.
