      Thank you for your patience waiting for the new video. We have definitely had a busy month. Our two oldest children graduated from high school this month. Thanks for commenting again. The project seems daunting when you look at the whole thing but we just keep doing a little at a time and, before we know it, it'll be complete and we'll go on vacation!

    Amazing how ya'll make each other laugh, and kinda joke your way thru the work. You have also done such fantastic work on so many things. You have literally transFORMED that camper and that RV. Both were purchased cheap, and both got lots of good strong cleaning and new paint, and they look fabulous. You're showing folks what they could do to get in the RV and camping game! Lots folks who have never painted anything do not really understand and fully comprehend this? But painting can be a TOTALLY SATISFYING EXPERIENCE. I mean you are just watching something being pretty much reborn. The new color, the cleanliness, the smell, the job satisfaction is IMMENSE, folks. What they are doing is rewarding.

    That bathroom....
    Though it is smaller than a crackerjack box, it looks good!
    How you dress it will seal the deal!
    I love the fact that this is an hour long video!

    So the plastic wall enclosure that is in the lower half of the bathroom, your best bet is actually to get an etching style cream that can go on it. What it does is if you were to place it on glass. It turns it to an opaque finish if you put that on the plastic and let it adhere appropriately rather than standing or scuffing. Your finished coat of what you want to change. The color to will apply so much better! That is for future reference.

    This bathroom is phenomenal! You went from Potty Pampers to Polished Panache! It’s got a great mid century vibe now. These colors should permeate the rest of the camper 😁

    • @retrorevivals
      @retrorevivals  ปีที่แล้ว

      Thanks! We might have to rename that video now to Potty Pampers to Polished Panache 😂. We're sort of going for a rustic mid century vibe if that's such a thing. Thanks for the comment!

      @weightlessliving9856 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@retrorevivals That’s hilarious! You should rename it (will get you more views because people will think it’s a new vid too 😂). Rustic Mid-Century…akin to Prairie Craftsman. I’m digging it.

  • @2AZSUN
    @2AZSUN ปีที่แล้ว +1

    There's no question Bob Vila and Martha would be very proud of the work you've been able to do on this old rig!! BTW, you're not old anymore, you're vintage!! Plus, you happen to have a few vintage viewers, so there's that. Who is this Chip and Joanna you speak of??
    The results of that bathroom are beyond amazing!! Never thought that nasty old fiberglass would be able to transform as well as it did. Just in case the old faucet doesn't work properly, you should be able to find new valve stems to go in that one. The old RV faucets had replaceable stems. It's also more then likely an old Phoenix faucet which is the RV faucet brand that's been around forever. Or, if the old one is beyond repair, with the new one you have, you could also just change out the handles for round ones and be good to go. If you try drilling and changing holes in that old fiberglass, you might end up with more issues then you can solve with the old JB Weld.
    Keep up the hour long vids. You collect viewer hours way faster and build better traction with TH-cam that way. Not only that, you two, and sometimes four, are really pretty entertaining, so the hour cruises by pretty quick.
    Keep up the good work, and always looking forward to the next one!! Also, congratulations on being over the 1k sub mark!!

    • @retrorevivals
      @retrorevivals  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Haha, yes, vintage, not old! We love our vintage viewers too! I think you're being sarcastic with the Chip and Joanna question, right? It's so hard to detect sarcasm in typewritten words, lol. Thank you for the info on the faucet, it would be great if we could keep it... we're feeling like plumbing and electrical will be coming very soon so we'll be able to test it out. It would be great to avoid drilling into that fiberglass in case it just crumbles. That would be devastating! Thanks again for watching and commenting!

    • @2AZSUN
      @2AZSUN ปีที่แล้ว

      @@retrorevivals Such a true story!! Humor is almost impossible in text. And yes, I think you'd have to be living in a silo to not know Chip and JoJo at this point.
      Since you mentioned plumbing coming up soon, something else to consider. Those quarter inch copper tubes they used back then were notorious for splitting if they weren't winterized properly. As much of a pain as it will be to change it out in the bathroom, it will be much better to have PEX that you won't have to worry so much about bursting if it isn't 100% fully drained. Which I'm sure you've already figured out, but worth the mention if you haven't.

    Great job :)! One suggestion, to save headaches on the road, I would change that starter relay. I have changed a lot of those over the years. Love the work on this 440! They are great engines and get awesome economy vs other big blocks :)! My dad had a full size 40' motorhome in the 70's that got 11mpg. It was a huge box that slept 8 but made it from Texas to Colorado several times then he sold it for a profit :)
