It is really saddening to see people hate on SRK just because of his religion. The man is our global representative in world cinema, he definitely commands and deserves all the love & respect. The hate for the film prior to the release was absolutely baseless and downright STUPID.

Yes, this victory definitely felt personal. People criticizing the screenplay don't realize that Pathaan was never actually a film. It was a phenomenon created to bring back the culture of watching an SRK film on the big screen and celebrating it with fellow admirers of him. And I think it fulfilled this purpose with absolute grace!

I had tears rolling down my eyes in the last 1 minute of this video. Been a Shah Rukh fan for more than 20 years now, and Pathaan as a battle was personal. It’ll always be.
Flaws or not. No one can touch the stardom of Shah Rukh Khan. Nobody had, Nobody did and Nobody will ever! He will fall and rise higher always. Love always win! it takes time but it always win!

I was here in Australia, in one of the biggest screens in the city.. ppl who spread these "boycott" propaganda- truly don't realise what SRK is for Indian/ Hindi cinema... Watching the movie with 100+ Indians gathered to watch SRK- for the duration of the movie atleast- it felt like, being home :)
Despite being a srk fan,I also had the least expectation from Pathaan in the upcoming 3 films of Srk,But there is no doubt that the movie was a blockbuster eagerly waiting for Jawan and Dunki.. 💓
15 minutes was all I could sit through this movie. On one side we wish to see Indian cinema go toe to toe with international ones but on the other side we celebrate a less than mediocre movie like this. I don't hate Srk or this movie, it's just that I wished for a better movie from him. Pathan doesn't even hold a candle to RRR if we compare it even as a mass entertainer

The happiest moment being a movie lover is seeing a rotten “Houseful” board outside an old single screen theatre near my house. Last 5 years that board was not seen so it had termites and all, board was broken from the edge. But seeing that board on 26th Jan made me happy❤️

But in fact more than 80% of the masses enjoyed the film. This movie was meant to be for the masses. From now on you can avoid going to theatres because Srk will be doing mass driven films as he has already rejected Don 3. He is clear in his mind whom to serve.
It's no secret that Pathaan's main selling point was the return of the king. No one really cared about the storyline much. The fact that the public came out in large numbers to support this film says a lot about SRK's pull and also a point was to be proven to the naysayers and blind haters.
The country is in danger trope was the least of people's concern I agree. I think a formidable John really helped the case in making it engaging. An icing on the cake being Salman's integration & the possibilities in the future.

Of all the stars it was SRK that tried to shy away from his regular formula with films like FAN, ZERO etc and none of that worked at the box office. So then he made a movie that was probably nonsensical but guess what it became the HG in Bollywood. If anyone needs to be blamed on lack of quality movies like VeerZara or Swadesh from SRK - it's precisely the audience and not SRK. The man did try to give us movies which pushed creative boundaries and in each instance he was bullied into a corner with ridicules and taunts abt losing his "Kingdom". So for now, I am with SRK on this Pathaan thing - as some one aptly said - The people get what they deserve. And in todays time - that means non sensical physics defying, adrenaline pumping action extra vaganza. Tbh I fully enjoyed Pathaan in theatres and in Prime again. That Zinda hun dialogue was a metaphor.

Pathaan maybe the weakest "SPY" film of its universe but it was the most enjoyable one in the theatre. The euphoria was so crazy that many villagers came to cities a day before release just to watch the first day first show. Now this is what I call STARDOM!!!

BOYCOTT BOLLYWOOD 🔥🔥🔥 1. Boycott is a genuine expression of Freedom of speech recognized under constitution of India and also, in US as well it is protected under first amendment 2. There is difference in ban, cancel culture and boycott. Cancel culture is when you cancel someone because of its political ideologies or race, sex, religion. Complain to his/her manager that he support BJP/Congress and get him removed. Boycott call is protected under fundamental right, you are not asking to ban Amir Khan or to ban his movie from releasing. He has fundamental right to work in movies, release in theater and earn out it. I have the right protected to be vocal about my choice and influence other by announcing my choice to them. Yes, I don't have the right to grab someone and not allow them to watch the movie, if anybody wats they shall be allowed. Free market economics. Just like people vocal about their political choice and even ask to boycott other party. No one is asking to ban his work, Amir Khan is entitled to work, release his movie and as a consumer of his product, we have the right to reject it. 3. Boycott Lal Singh Chadda has many dimension and various group are boycotting it on different ground & reasons: a) 1st Group: His previous work shows he is selective in criticism to Hinduism alone but never utter a single word of criticism on his own religion Islam. In previous movie PK, he targeted core belief of Hinduism and made mockery, but on other hand he criticized only muslims, followers of Islam but never any core beliefs of Islam. People noticed this pattern of hypocrisy b) 2nd Group: Amir Khan in past, never commented on any other political personality except the present prime minister many years back. He attributed that he is directly responsible for death of muslims in a riot without any proof. Even though the Supreme court found he is not responsible, he never apologized for the statement. It shows he had a political agenda motivated and without proof he can give such statement. c) 3rd Group: 7 years back he said as a Muslim he is feeling unsafe in India and leave India. possibly to paint a picture to malign the current political dispensation and leadership. Same India that made him superstar and shower so much love and respect, he spit on us Indians d) 4th Group: This is the majority group who view things in larger context. They are boycotting entire bollywood movies irrespective of whichever actor in lead. This is because a research has been done by a professor called Dheeraj Sharma from IIM Ahmedabad. He found that Bollywood selectively criticize Hinduism, shows Hindus in bad light, shows muslims and Islam in a very pleasing manner and in good light. Out of 20 movies released in Pakistan, 18 movies shows Pakistani common man as broad minded and loving whereas Indians as regressive & closed minded and fueling hatred. Also, Bollywood promotes nepotism and doesn't allow talented actors to rise or will conspire to bring them down, it gained traction after death of Sushant Singh Rajput, who was an outsider. No justice till date. 5. People who are saying separate Art from Artist and judge them based on thier work in reel life and keep real life separate is very hollow argument. Artist can't be separated from Art, otherwise, based on thier reel life how come these actors have a brand value in real life and they get endorsement. Yes, thier real life will affect reel life as well. Based on brand value in real life, they are offered different fees to act in reel life. Fans even emulate and idolize them in real life. 6. The argument is very hollow and lack substance: "Why shall you boycott a movie because of one or two person as movie making is team work and loads of other people are involved in the creation process?" Lets imagine a cheap resturant which serve bad taste & unhygenic food but employ 100s of people and there is a restaurant which is little expensive but it serves very tasty and hygienic food but employ 20 employees. Will you just eat in the cheap resturant which serve bad food just because it will provide employment to 100 of people. By that logic, an tobacco company shall encourage every indians to consume tobacco because it is really labour intensive companies and generate lot of employment opportunities for poor people. 7. The lead actors always have disproportional share in the movie profit. In facts most of the Bollywood have such ridiculous budget is because these lead actors charge exorbitantly high acting fee. They even have profit sharing contracts along with distributors. Majority of the technicians involved are paid on project basis and usually done before the release. Once the post-production is over, they are already paid. Hence, passing the morality to public would be too harsh to think about their 250 where as their own fraternity treat their own crew very disproportionally economically. Even when movie will get success, these crew will hardly get enough public limelight, as the limelight will be reserved by the lead actors. 8. As a responsible citizen, we shall try to not allow bad influence affect our society. We know as matter of fact that, these Bollywood actors have huge fan following and people emulate & idolize them. Shall we allow these to happen just because it will affect employment of so many more technicians. Suppose, today youth everyone start smoking which is legal, it will generate lot of employment opportunity for who work in tobacco factory. Shall we promote it? The influence of lead character matters, I was a big fan of Kevin Spacey in House of Card show, he is brilliant actor. However, he has been removed from the show because allegation of sexual offense of young men came to light. I agree with decision even though I used to be big fan of him. 9. The anger was building up among public against bollywood. However, 2 catalyst event occured a) SSR death but the loud mouth bollywood keep completely quite. b) Kashmir Files connected with public but loud mouth bollywood kept completely quite. People see this hypocrisy. Let me give you more facts, a research has been done by Mr. Dheeraj Sharma, an eminent professor of IIM Ahmedabad, currently in IIM Rohtak. His research team randomly selected 50 films from each decade, from the 1960s, 1970s, 1980s, and 1990s and 2000s and 2010s. Here are some findings: 1. 58% of the corrupt politicians in films were Hindu ‘brahmins’ 2. 62% of the corrupt businessmen were from the Hindu ‘vaishya’ caste 3. In around 78% films, women with ‘loose characters’ happened to be Christians 4. Around 74% films presented Sikh characters as laughable. 5. 84% of Muslim characters were shown as strongly religious and honest (even when their character in the movie, was that of a criminal) 6. 20 Bollywood films which released in Pakistan. “18 of these presented Pakistani people as welcoming, courteous, open-minded and courageous. On the contrary, the Pakistan government was demonstrated as fundamentalist, unwelcoming, and jingoist. However, in the same movie, Indians were largely projected as narrow-minded, unwelcoming, and conservative” 7. He also selected 35 movies each from Bollywood and Hollywood from 1950-2010. He found in Hollywood, out of 35, in 22 movies the hero either have shown to visited church or near the church scene. Compare it to Bollywood, out of 35, only 7 in which hero visited temple. 8. In 78% Hollywood and 80% Bollywood, church father is shown to be honest, dedicated to his religion, caring, compassionate, whereas in Bollywood, in 71% of them Temple pujari is shown to be corrupt, immoral, doesn't speak truth, deceiving or cunny. 9. There are 1000s of example, but let me give you one example: In Amar-Akbar-Anthony movie, all 3 were son of a killer and smuggler Kishanlal, a Hindu. Akbar and Anthony both get adopted by kind hearted Muslims and Christians but in the movie, Amar you can guess is adopted by a Hindu, but his father is never shown hindu. Akbar visit mosque for namaz, even do qawallli in sufi shrine; Anthony goes to church and even talks to church father many times. On the other hand possibly Hindu Amar, never shown to visit temple, he simply exist without any religious Identity. (i have 1000s of examples) 10. I chose not to waste my money on a movie and it's makers that portrays ex-R&AW agents as terrorists, and ISI agents as friends of India. If that is being a 'hater', then so be it. I can't fathom why you aren't!
It was not only personal for SRK only but it was personal for us fans also, after a decade of debacles, disappointments, flops and average hits. We fans wanted to witness the glory of the Khan that we used to witness. And Pathaan with every single flaw did what no movie in the past 10 to 12 years did for us. It made us believe that when the Badshaah wants to claim his throne you better save your skin because he'll rightfully take his place but the consequences after that will want you to be in a dream world after all the things happen
I am very curious to know as to why SRK rejected ‘Don 3’. Apparently from several news portals , the project doesn’t fit into the docket of content which srk is keen to do for the next 3-4 years and that is mainly mass commercial. On the contrary , Don 3 perfectly fits the category , although it’s more stylised than being massy.
I think he is more keen on exploring the possibilities with the yrf spy universe and the ultimate civil war vs reviving an old franchise. I hear they are looking for a new gen star for it: tough shoes to fill!
Sadly thats what i expected from Pathaan after its introduction scene. The beginning scene was so dark and gritty. It seemed heavily stylized. But then from there onwards it was just a casual and goofy ride. The beginning scene gave me goosebumps and i was cheering internally but then after that the rest of the film was just a casual and goofy ride. Maybe thats what indian audience wanted. After that, i just stopped taking the movie too seriously…

Pathaan was really amazing with it's screenplay, thrills and cast performances. Watching it with my friends was a great one-time experience. No reason to hate it, none at all
Honest opinion - The film was through out entertaining from start to end , it was really paisa wasool and also Pathan has the best hand to hand action compat scenes in Indian cinema , And people are criticising story on Pathan , come on guys what kind of stories are expecting from Spy films , it’s only action oriented , people criticising logic in Pathan are the same ones who enjoys logic scenes from kgf and rrr .the best spy film from YRF spy universe is still Tiger zinda hai, if Pathan was Done by any other actor they will praise him , just because it’s by SRK , they are hating it , I mean a blind hatred towards SRK! look there were many thing we couldve done with pathan, like for eg shah rukh having shades of grey and an ambigious alignment, soe double crosses, a better script wouldve made it collosal. instead they focused more on ket packs, pointless heists and dance and sog routines which kinda ulled. the movie worked since john abraham was a outright amazing villain, which none of the other spy universe movies have and it was the treturn of srk. some pr and hype along with no toehr major challengers was in there to give it a competition. I still feel as an industry , bollywood really fails to tap into that sinister energy that SRK has.
Spy films are action oriented but look at family man, action with genuineness is more satisfying than pathaan stunt on ice. The hand to hand was good but the patriotism of the film should have been like rocket boys, otherwise it was a good film.
I like Sharukh, and i do not like boycott culture against art. But honestly, the movie was well below par. I watched 'War' recently and i was amazed that they both were from same spy universe. I was thoroughly invested in the script and performances of War. Pathaan no way near that. But i understand the theatrical goosebumps, for stardom.
Also, Pathaan is the first Indian film released (12th may) in Bangladesh following the country's independence. Despite being available on OTT, the film had an amazing response at theaters here, and the first two days were sold out in advance.
Bollywood required a successful movie like this to bring back the confidence and hope to the movie makers of Hindi cinema. Few more hits like this with great content and Bollywood will be back on it's track. And if we speak about srk, in my opinion the Bollywood directors haven't yet utilised his complete acting potential.
Pathaan's success was lightning in bottle, I don't think Salmaan will have the same with Tiger 3 which should be a high grosser but not some record breaking like Pathaan Edit: The movie itself is MID, John's character and performance saved it.
I think the interconnected possibilities and Salman's cameo also elevated it. I think the reception of KKBKKJ will slighly dampen the hype for Tiger 3 but its his most awaited film so you never know!

The movie was an eye-opener to the true plight of innocent girls who were forced into Islam and the world of terrorism. The exceptional acting by the entire cast, particularly Adah Sharma, brought the story to life. The movie sheds light on the harsh reality of how women are treated like second-class citizens, subjected to sexual abuse and violence especially by men. It's a courageous story that deserves to be heard by everyone. "The Kerala Story" is a remarkable piece of cinema that everyone especially girls should watch.
When a Rajnikanth, Chiranjeevi, etc movies release, it is hugely celebrated by the audience the same way Pathaan is now being celebrated by the fans. But, when the south audience did this, all the hindi belt ridiculed south cinema. But when Pathaan is celebrated, you need everyone to understand and not judge. Is this hypocrisy or evolution ?

Refusal to accept change and clinging to the past 8. Double standards and duplicity in personal views which is carefully curated by PR machinery 9. Why majority of the people hate salman, sarukh, amir. Why people love Irrfan khan, Kedar khan, A.R Rahman. It's not about Religion it's about their action and choice of work. The success of Pathan was the public's way of showing a giant middle finger to the boycott gangs. You don't tell us what to watch and what not to watch. Let us decide for ourselves. This was one of the best examples of how the people are still in power.
Irrespective of the secular-communal or Hindu-Muslim binary, Pathaan was a boring movie. The first 10 minutes into the movie and I began counting the number of scenes that were borrowed from Hollywood movies. The only fun aspect of the movie is the mid-credit scene where Salman and Shahrukh break the fourth wall and discuss that they need to do the heavy lifting.
Unpopular opinion: This movie was a dud. I did not enjoy the movie at all. It didnt give me the same thrill that movies like Raazi or Race did, despite being similar genres. Some scenes dragged on for way too long while others cut short abruptly. The movie was not consistent unlike KGF. KGF was ridiculous, everyone knows that. The world is so far-fetched, the main lead is godlike. But they leaned into that beautifully, the screenplay transitioned nicely, giving off an aura of awe. This movie, however, was trying to achieve the same awe but failed miserably, I found myself rolling my eyes way too much in most scenes and stuck till the end just so i could say i gave it the benefit of the doubt. IMO, the only reason this movie did extremely well, is because people collectively made the decision to raise SRKs position in bollywood again. TLDR: this movie tried to give off Tom Cruise action movie vibes, but came off as a third-rate copy instead. Hyped up only to bring srk back into stardom. I absolutely disagree with you Jammy, the flaws are more than enough to ruin the movie-going experience. This movie does not deserve the hype it got. Just goes to show their marketing was phenomenal for such a mediocre movie.

For some of us, falling in love with the movies and falling in love with SRK was one and the same. It does not mean we stopped at the same point, or that we don't live other actors, or that we are shallow/crass or can't understand nuance. But let's own up the fact that most people, myself included, enjoy the escapism that mass commercial movies offer. Indian cinema used to balance commercial with societal commentary so well, it's a shame that things are so divorced from their roots now!
Pathan just like Brahmastra is classic case of forced blockbuster as it was PR driven box office number. PVR INOX is closing 50 theatre across country to cover for loss.
Pathaan was a cinematic masterpiece, even if the plot left something to be desired. I still think War is a much better film, but I’m glad that Pathaan got the numbers that it did.
Expected much more from Shahrukh’s comeback movie. Even in this genre which is meant to be a little illogical and unrealistic, Sidharth Anand did a much better job with War. It was a success only cause of Srk’s return. Had Pathaan released in 2018, it wouldn’t have succeeded.
I won’t deny that War is Siddharth Anand’s best actioner to date. Maybe even his best film period. But I feel Sid is getting too predictable in this genre, so maybe he should try his hand at directing a romcom again. Salaam Namaste and Bachna Ae Haseeno are both comfort films for me and I’d pick them up again in a heartbeat.
In Bangladesh pathan is making more money than Bangladeshi movies. Like jamuna future halls theatre and bashundhara shopping complexs theatre are completely full.

Yes, this victory definitely felt personal. People criticizing the screenplay don't realize that Pathaan was never actually a film. It was a phenomenon created to bring back the culture of watching an SRK film on the big screen and celebrating it with fellow admirers of him. 15 minutes was all I could sit through this movie. On one side we wish to see Indian cinema go toe to toe with international ones but on the other side we celebrate a less than mediocre movie like this. I don't hate Srk or this movie, it's just that I wished for a better movie from him. Pathan doesn't even hold a candle to RRR if we compare it even as a mass entertainer

The happiest moment being a movie lover is seeing a rotten “Houseful” board outside an old single screen theatre near my house. Last 5 years that board was not seen so it had termites and all, board was broken from the edge. But seeing that board on 26th Jan made me happy❤️

But in fact more than 80% of the masses enjoyed the film. This movie was meant to be for the masses. From now on you can avoid going to theatres because Srk will be doing mass driven films as he has already rejected Don 3. He is clear in his mind whom to serve.
It's no secret that Pathaan's main selling point was the return of the king. No one really cared about the storyline much. The fact that the public came out in large numbers to support this film says a lot about SRK's pull and also a point was to be proven to the naysayers and blind haters.
The country is in danger trope was the least of people's concern I agree. I think a formidable John really helped the case in making it engaging. An icing on the cake being Salman's integration & the possibilities in the future.

Of all the stars it was SRK that tried to shy away from his regular formula with films like FAN, ZERO etc and none of that worked at the box office.
So then he made a movie that was probably nonsensical but guess what it became the HG in Bollywood. If anyone needs to be blamed on lack of quality movies like VeerZara or Swadesh from SRK - it's precisely the audience and not SRK.
The man did try to give us movies which pushed creative boundaries and in each instance he was bullied into a corner with ridicules and taunts abt losing his "Kingdom".

Absolutely agreed with your statement ,, I have come to realise that srk really tries to bring new stories but it does not get appreciated ,, just think about the fact that it took people almost a decade to realise that RA1 was a movie ahead of its time showing us nice vfx but it was not appreciated at that time ,, he has to make something like pathaan which still involves nice hand to hand fight scenes
Pathaan maybe the weakest "SPY" film of its universe but it was the most enjoyable one in the theatre.
The euphoria was so crazy that many villagers came to cities a day before release just to watch the first day first show. Now this is what I call STARDOM!!!
I remember sitting for a 6 am show in delhi. packed to the brim. shouting & screaming at every point of elevation. so tough to replicate!

BOYCOTT BOLLYWOOD 🔥🔥🔥
1. Boycott is a genuine expression of Freedom of speech recognized under constitution of India and also, in US as well it is protected under first amendment
2. There is difference in ban, cancel culture and boycott. Cancel culture is when you cancel someone because of its political ideologies or race, sex, religion. Complain to his/her manager that he support BJP/Congress and get him removed. Boycott call is protected under fundamental right, you are not asking to ban Amir Khan or to ban his movie from releasing. He has fundamental right to work in movies, release in theater and earn out it. I have the right protected to be vocal about my choice and influence other by announcing my choice to them. Yes, I don't have the right to grab someone and not allow them to watch the movie, if anybody wats they shall be allowed. Free market economics. Just like people vocal about their political choice and even ask to boycott other party. No one is asking to ban his work, Amir Khan is entitled to work, release his movie and as a consumer of his product, we have the right to reject it.
3. Boycott Lal Singh Chadda has many dimension and various group are boycotting it on different ground & reasons:
a) 1st Group: His previous work shows he is selective in criticism to Hinduism alone but never utter a single word of criticism on his own religion Islam. In previous movie PK, he targeted core belief of Hinduism and made mockery, but on other hand he criticized only muslims, followers of Islam but never any core beliefs of Islam. People noticed this pattern of hypocrisy
b) 2nd Group: Amir Khan in past, never commented on any other political personality except the present prime minister many years back. He attributed that he is directly responsible for death of muslims in a riot without any proof. Even though the Supreme court found he is not responsible, he never apologized for the statement. It shows he had a political agenda motivated and without proof he can give such statement.
c) 3rd Group: 7 years back he said as a Muslim he is feeling unsafe in India and leave India. possibly to paint a picture to malign the current political dispensation and leadership. Same India that made him superstar and shower so much love and respect, he spit on us Indians
d) 4th Group: This is the majority group who view things in larger context. They are boycotting entire bollywood movies irrespective of whichever actor in lead. This is because a research has been done by a professor called Dheeraj Sharma from IIM Ahmedabad. He found that Bollywood selectively criticize Hinduism, shows Hindus in bad light, shows muslims and Islam in a very pleasing manner and in good light. Out of 20 movies released in Pakistan, 18 movies shows Pakistani common man as broad minded and loving whereas Indians as regressive & closed minded and fueling hatred. Also, Bollywood promotes nepotism and doesn't allow talented actors to rise or will conspire to bring them down, it gained traction after death of Sushant Singh Rajput, who was an outsider. No justice till date.
5. People who are saying separate Art from Artist and judge them based on thier work in reel life and keep real life separate is very hollow argument. Artist can't be separated from Art, otherwise, based on thier reel life how come these actors have a brand value in real life and they get endorsement. Yes, thier real life will affect reel life as well. Based on brand value in real life, they are offered different fees to act in reel life. Fans even emulate and idolize them in real life.
6. The argument is very hollow and lack substance: "Why shall you boycott a movie because of one or two person as movie making is team work and loads of other people are involved in the creation process?" Lets imagine a cheap resturant which serve bad taste & unhygenic food but employ 100s of people and there is a restaurant which is little expensive but it serves very tasty and hygienic food but employ 20 employees. Will you just eat in the cheap resturant which serve bad food just because it will provide employment to 100 of people. By that logic, an tobacco company shall encourage every indians to consume tobacco because it is really labour intensive companies and generate lot of employment opportunities for poor people.
7. The lead actors always have disproportional share in the movie profit. In facts most of the Bollywood have such ridiculous budget is because these lead actors charge exorbitantly high acting fee. They even have profit sharing contracts along with distributors. Majority of the technicians involved are paid on project basis and usually done before the release. Once the post-production is over, they are already paid. Hence, passing the morality to public would be too harsh to think about their 250 where as their own fraternity treat their own crew very disproportionally economically. Even when movie will get success, these crew will hardly get enough public limelight, as the limelight will be reserved by the lead actors.
8. As a responsible citizen, we shall try to not allow bad influence affect our society. We know as matter of fact that, these Bollywood actors have huge fan following and people emulate & idolize them. Shall we allow these to happen just because it will affect employment of so many more technicians. Suppose, today youth everyone start smoking which is legal, it will generate lot of employment opportunity for who work in tobacco factory. Shall we promote it? The influence of lead character matters, I was a big fan of Kevin Spacey in House of Card show, he is brilliant actor. However, he has been removed from the show because allegation of sexual offense of young men came to light. I agree with decision even though I used to be big fan of him.
9. The anger was building up among public against bollywood. However, 2 catalyst event occured
a) SSR death but the loud mouth bollywood keep completely quite.
b) Kashmir Files connected with public but loud mouth bollywood kept completely quite. People see this hypocrisy.
Let me give you more facts, a research has been done by Mr. Dheeraj Sharma, an eminent professor of IIM Ahmedabad, currently in IIM Rohtak. His research team randomly selected 50 films from each decade, from the 1960s, 1970s, 1980s, and 1990s and 2000s and 2010s. Here are some findings:
1. 58% of the corrupt politicians in films were Hindu ‘brahmins’
2. 62% of the corrupt businessmen were from the Hindu ‘vaishya’ caste
3. In around 78% films, women with ‘loose characters’ happened to be Christians
4. Around 74% films presented Sikh characters as laughable.
5. 84% of Muslim characters were shown as strongly religious and honest (even when their character in the movie, was that of a criminal)
6. 20 Bollywood films which released in Pakistan. “18 of these presented Pakistani people as welcoming, courteous, open-minded and courageous. On the contrary, the Pakistan government was demonstrated as fundamentalist, unwelcoming, and jingoist. However, in the same movie, Indians were largely projected as narrow-minded, unwelcoming, and conservative”
7. He also selected 35 movies each from Bollywood and Hollywood from 1950-2010. He found in Hollywood, out of 35, in 22 movies the hero either have shown to visited church or near the church scene. Compare it to Bollywood, out of 35, only 7 in which hero visited temple.
8. In 78% Hollywood and 80% Bollywood, church father is shown to be honest, dedicated to his religion, caring, compassionate, whereas in Bollywood, in 71% of them Temple pujari is shown to be corrupt, immoral, doesn't speak truth, deceiving or cunny.
9. There are 1000s of example, but let me give you one example: In Amar-Akbar-Anthony movie, all 3 were son of a killer and smuggler Kishanlal, a Hindu. Akbar and Anthony both get adopted by kind hearted Muslims and Christians but in the movie, Amar you can guess is adopted by a Hindu, but his father is never shown hindu. It was not only personal for SRK only but it was personal for us fans also, after a decade of debacles, disappointments, flops and average hits. We fans wanted to witness the glory of the Khan that we used to witness. And Pathaan with every single flaw did what no movie in the past 10 to 12 years did for us. It made us believe that when the Badshaah wants to claim his throne you better save your skin because he'll rightfully take his place but the consequences after that will want you to be in a dream world after all the things happen
I am very curious to know as to why SRK rejected ‘Don 3’. Apparently from several news portals , the project doesn’t fit into the docket of content which srk is keen to do for the next 3-4 years and that is mainly mass commercial. On the contrary , Don 3 perfectly fits the category , although it’s more stylised than being massy.
I think he is more keen on exploring the possibilities with the yrf spy universe and the ultimate civil war vs reviving an old franchise. I hear they are looking for a new gen star for it: tough shoes to fill!

Sadly thats what i expected from Pathaan after its introduction scene. The beginning scene was so dark and gritty. It seemed heavily stylized. But then from there onwards it was just a casual and goofy ride. The beginning scene gave me goosebumps and i was cheering internally but then after that the rest of the film was just a casual and goofy ride. Maybe thats what indian audience wanted. After that, i just stopped taking the movie too seriously…

I like Sharukh, and i do not like boycott culture against art. But honestly, the movie was well below par. I watched 'War' recently and i was amazed that they both were from same spy universe. I was thoroughly invested in the script and performances of War. Pathaan no way near that. But i understand the theatrical goosebumps, for stardom.
I was not at my age of understanding communal hatred at the time I fell in love with SRK.
Also, Pathaan is the first Indian film released (12th may) in Bangladesh following the country's independence. Despite being available on OTT, the film had an amazing response at theaters here, and the first two days were sold out in advance.
Bollywood required a successful movie like this to bring back the confidence and hope to the movie makers of Hindi cinema. Few more hits like this with great content and Bollywood will be back on it's track. And if we speak about srk, in my opinion the Bollywood directors haven't yet utilised his complete acting potential.
Pathaan's success was lightning in bottle, I don't think Salmaan will have the same with Tiger 3 which should be a high grosser but not some record breaking like Pathaan

Irrespective of the secular-communal or Hindu-Muslim binary, Pathaan was a boring movie. The first 10 minutes into the movie and I began counting the number of scenes that were borrowed from Hollywood movies. The only fun aspect of the movie is the mid-credit scene where Salman and Shahrukh break the fourth wall and discuss that they need to do the heavy lifting.
Unpopular opinion: This movie was a dud. I did not enjoy the movie at all. It didnt give me the same thrill that movies like Raazi or Race did, despite being similar genres. Some scenes dragged on for way too long while others cut short abruptly. The movie was not consistent unlike KGF.
KGF was ridiculous, everyone knows that. The world is so far-fetched, the main lead is godlike. But they leaned into that beautifully, the screenplay transitioned nicely, giving off an aura of awe. This movie, however, was trying to achieve the same awe but failed miserably, I found myself rolling my eyes way too much in most scenes and stuck till the end just so i could say i gave it the benefit of the doubt. IMO, the only reason this movie did extremely well, is because people collectively made the decision to raise SRKs position in bollywood again.
TLDR: this movie tried to give off Tom Cruise action movie vibes, but came off as a third-rate copy instead. Hyped up only to bring srk back into stardom.

For some of us, falling in love with the movies and falling in love with SRK was one and the same. It does not mean we stopped at the same point, or that we don't live other actors, or that we are shallow/crass or can't understand nuance. But let's own up the fact that most people, myself included, enjoy the escapism that mass commercial movies offer. Indian cinema used to balance commercial with societal commentary so well, it's a shame that things are so divorced from their roots now!

Pathan just like Brahmastra is classic case of forced blockbuster as it was PR driven box office number. PVR INOX is closing 50 theatre across country to cover for loss.
Pathaan was a cinematic masterpiece, even if the plot left something to be desired. I still think War is a much better film, but I’m glad that Pathaan got the numbers that it did.

Expected much more from Shahrukh’s comeback movie. Even in this genre which is meant to be a little illogical and unrealistic, Sidharth Anand did a much better job with War. It was a success only cause of Srk’s return. Had Pathaan released in 2018, it wouldn’t have succeeded.

I won’t deny that War is Siddharth Anand’s best actioner to date. Maybe even his best film period. But I feel Sid is getting too predictable in this genre, so maybe he should try his hand at directing a romcom again. Salaam Namaste and Bachna Ae Haseeno are both comfort films for me and I’d pick them up again in a heartbeat.

It still surprises me how this badly written cringy movie became a hit, I just couldn't sit through the entire film. SRK got away with this.
