This is our first reaction ever to Dimash from 3 years ago. At the time, we still didn't know who this singer was and we fell in love with him and his voice. From there on we fell into the "rabbit hole" and never got out. We will try to reupload other reactions that we did to Dimash initially but that we had to remove from TH-cam because there was another channel that was stealing the reactions from us.
He didn't win the contest, he came second. In China, a person from Kazakhstan cannot win a singing contest in China.

"The Singer" is an annual Chinese TV show for highly respected singers to compete. Dimash was the only non Chinese singer invited because the producer saw him perform for the Chinese and Kazakh presidents and was very impressed. He is from Kazakhstan is 6ft 3, 1/4 and was the youngest ever competitor in 2017 at only 22 years old. Because of his age and the fact he was a wild card selection, he was asked to perform first. No pressure!! This was his first performance on the show and he sang in French. The audience went wild for him! When the show was broadcast on TV to approximately 600 million people he had to have bodyguards for the first time in his life as he had become a superstar overnight in China. He is now a world class artist and just turned 26 on the 24th of May but touring the world to sell out arenas with his solo concerts, (on hold until next year due to Covid-19) he also performs in concerts with the famous Russian composer Igor Krutoy, is constantly collecting awards, attends many prestigious red carpet events, film festivals and even models for lots of high end fashion houses. He is university trained in Classical opera vocals to degree level, also holds a degree in contemporary pop music and jazz with a major in vocals, and now has finished his master degree in music composition with a top mark of 100%. He has been having singing lessons from the age of 5 when his teacher noticed he had perfect pitch . He was offered a place at the Astana Opera in Kazakhstan but turned it down for a more contemporary musical career. He is a multi instrumentalist, more than 8 instruments and also sings in 12 different languages and has a range of over 6 octaves from a low bass A2 to a high soprano, plus a whistle register with his highest note so far being a 5 second D8 with vibrato. He is widely recognized as the best vocalist in the world. He speaks fluent Kazakh and Russian, is studying English and Mandarin and has conversational skills in both but not quite fluent yet. Thank you for this beautiful reaction and "Welcome to the world of Dimash"!! He was 22 when he went on China's 'I am Singer' and he is 26 now. He was an unknown wildcard from Kazakhstan
and the youngest competitor against famous and established Chinese singers. He sang SOS as the very first contestant in the 14 week long competition and quickly gained fame in China. The rest of the world is finally discovering him. He is not only the best singer in the world but he is humble, kind, sweet, adorable, loving, and smart. (He just completed his Masters degree in composition and received a mark of 100% on his thesis. He is now working toward his PHD.) Dimash can sing beautifully in any genre from opera to rap and in many different languages. I know most people say he has a 6 octave range, but he keeps working so hard on his vocals that I think it is even higher now!! (One reactor has checked out his range and says it is now 7 octaves!!) Dimash plays several instruments and has composed many beautiful songs. I am one of his "Dears" (fans) and I so enjoy when someone discovers him for the first time. Great reaction to King Dimash Kudaibergen in my humble opinion his the best singer in the Galaxy and probably of all times.Since you mention the Diva Dance you should react his performances of the Diva Dance,he has several but I highly recommend 2 performances,The Bastau concert and The Drunken Convibine with Li Yugang + Diva Dance.

Thank you for your reaction to SOS! It's a song from the French-Canadian rock opera Starmania from the 80's. The contest "I Am a Singer" is not similar to the contests in the West - it's for established singers, who participate by invitation only. Dimash was invited based on his previous success in international contests, but he was unknown in China. This performance was his first on the show and he became an overnight sensation with it - got 600 million hits on Weibo (the Chinese TH-cam/Istagram). Dimash got second place in the contest after a well-known Chinese star, but this show propelled his career to stardom in China, Russia, and he got millions of fans all over the world through the Internet .

Its I am a Singer, a Chinese show which is invite only for professional singers. Dimash was invited as a wildcard. He didn't win as he is not Chinese and it would've been against the rules. But he won all our hearts 💕

The song is from a Rock Opera called Starmania created in Quebec, Canada in 1976 and his indeed in French, though Dimash didn't speak it and had to learn it phonetically very quickly, so he sings it in what I would call French-ish, but the emotion is there and this is the best interpretation of it that I have ever heard and the best French singers covered that song in the past.
