This is the result of singing since he was five years old.
Both of Dimash's parents are vocalists, both very famous people in Kazakhstan. His Mom is an Opera Singer, his Dad is a Pop Singer and Producer. They put him in a music academy when he was five (or that is what I have heard, anyway. There is a Wikipedia page about Dimash...). Actually, Dimash's sister can sing, too.
So, this was NOT a Rock-and-Roll concert at a sports stadium with a mosh pit up front, it was NOT an open-air festival grounds without seating. This was a NICE venue, like a real Opera House; people who attend these events are very prim and proper, they don't scream and rant. BUT I CAN understand your confusion about just how calm they were. They just witnessed GREATNESS!!!
Well, at least one person took real action after this. See the bald man in the white shirt giving the standing ovation? That is Igor Krutoy, who now works with Dimash. Igor is a famous composer from Russia. He came out of retirement to work alongside Dimash after seeing this performance! So, at the very least, HE recognized greatness when he saw it! :)
James, you covered that nicely. Thank you! I used to go to the place and it depends of the even, you are right. In some comments it was said that Russian people are cold and restricted from expressing their emotions. Not true, it depends on the setting.
24 May 2020 he turned 26, his Mother and Father were and still singers. She said at 5 years old she would sing one note and he would walk over to the piano and punch the key the note was. Many people in Kazakhstan can sing. A 10? year old girl from Kazakhstan showed up on America"s Got Talent. Her name is Danieliya Tuleshova. A force going to be reckoned with!!!
Dimash is her mentor and also he was her sponsor for the 2018 Junior Eurovision Song Contest where she represented Kazakhstan.
She's 13 not 10.
She was one of the children he made way for in The World's Best.
They both didn't know each other were even taking part until the semi finals when they saw one another for the first time.

The audiences from Central Asia and especially Russia are very subdued compared to the rest of the world. It's a "cultural" thing. I don't think they are "slighting" Dimash. Dimash has many performances recorded in Russia. They never stand up. Thanks for your reactions. They are very enjoyable.
Just like in my own home province in the Philippines, no matter how good a stage performer is, the crowds never stands up in appreciation, they just clap a little bit, stares at the performer but deep in their hearts and in their eyes we can see how happy, joyful, excited they are...sorry by the way to my english😊😊😊

Actually the whole evening was a tribute to the 35th year of the band "A-studio." Various singers covered their songs. That interesting sound Dimash did starting at 7:07 was traditional Kazakh lament expressing grief, in honor of the original vocalist of the band, who passed away a few years ago.
Hello, I’m from Brazil! The story behind this song is very interesting: The band that accompanies Dimash is the same one that composed the song, without the singer who died after a heart attack! The band is also from Kazakhstan and this performance by Dimash revitalized the song. In addition, the final part he added, with an oriental technique (traditional cazaq singing). Is a funeral lament, paying homage to the dead vocalist? Brilliant! The song was originally performed in 1998 and the band's name is A'Studio. The dead singer left the band in 2000 and passed away in 2015 and his name was Batyrkhan Shukenov. To answer your question, he was 5 when he started going to music school. Please check him on wikipedia. This man has been training all his life. His university in Kazakhstan where he obtained his masters degree supposed to send him to Los Angeles California last April for an internship, but this pandemic prevented him from doing so.
Please react to "UNFORGETABLE DAY", Gakku festival. The crowd during that show was 150,000 more or less. I heard from an interview that the spectators were there because they wanted to see Dimash. Of course there were other singers who performed that night.

Mother is Soprano Opera singer, father is Pop singer with nice warm baritone voice, Dimash inherits both his parents' talents and perfected them. He is quite a musical genius. He started singing and playing piano at 5, won many major competitions, graduated from Broadway master class at 15, has 2 musical degrees in both contemporary and classical, has a master degree in musical composition. Dimash has an absolute perfect pitch since 5 he can tell a piano was out of tune and he himself was able to reproduce notes with absolute perfect pitch. He can tell if one single person makes a mistake out of 300 members orchestra. Only 0.01% of people have that natural ability.

FYI, Dimash was a child prodigy having an extremely rare gift, he has an auto pitch (Pitch Perfect) voice that he can sing what note will be hited on the piano and vice-versa.

It's all a question of Extremes. Agreed you haven't got to be Jumping out of your seat. But you haven't got to be to the other Extreme either. I suppose you think that Maestro Igor Krutoy is also an Idiot for standing and applauding. Then again perhaps you know more about music than he does. That's the culture there in china and Russia - they have grown up with amazing musical culture for generations now and they tend to keep in check with their emotions and don't try to be disruptive to the musicians.
I like to say your chef sister has a very natural appreciation for music. She knows a good singer and asked about Dimash's singing experience . The reason why the audience looked boring was because they're Russians.

EXACTLY !!! It cost an audience member anywhere $50-$100 bucks to buy a huge bouquet of roses to give it to Dimash. But apparently they are too "boring". My mother often took me to the theater when I was a kid and we ALWAYS bought flowers for the performers.

Not muslim tribes style. Dimash's father explaned it. Turkic Tuva/Sakha style. Dimash used Kazak singing technique. You can hear it from the all Turan group. Sakha people ( Russia) uses this technique too.

What you witness is a product of then 18 years of singing. Now he works for 21 years. The musical protégé. A voice wizard. Dimash could sing in from bass, baritond, tenir, counter tenor, soprano, mesosoprano but trained in classical belcanto. He also have different timbers and colors. Vocal fry, chest voice, head voice, mix, falsetto and whistle note. He could sing opera, classic,ballad, pop, rock, rap and popera. His vibrato is so extraordinary, his staccato and glizaldo is something to look forward too. His music is called dimash. He is also like a sorcerer, he will bring you places unknown and makes you feel emotion like you never known existed. In his live concert I thought I levitate and was brought to the world I am not familiar of. He made me laugh with his dinglish and made cried many times with his songs. He will captivate you.
He dont just sing. He will sing the song many, many times, process it within his soul and once he knows the song is ripe thats when he sing it with his mind, heart, body and soul. His body is an extension of that song. The classic example is the one you just reacted simple passion which took 6 months for him to sing. And in here he exhibited a 4 person voices, and a 22 seconds run in one breathe.
The person that gave him a standing ovation in white is igor krutoi he retired but came back after hearing dimash and he write songs for dimash only. The most beautiful one is the love is like a dream which igor composed for another singer 25 years ago before dimash sung it.
Now if you use dimash channel or gloria wu you don't need to stop it. No copyright issue. And if you need to stop it just do it twice. People love to see reactors reaction not their opinion. You can talked and say your piece at the end. Meanwhile we see that you don't seem to appreciate it if you keep on stopping. We want you yo enjoy the music as we did. Going back dimash did not win the contest but he got Chinese heart that he have a song that have been five times platinum in 30 minutes. He was invited as a wild card and gge youngest. His opponents were professional singers in china.

Sandy Lam is the girl your sister said looked like her when watching SOS. She was 53 years old at the time, had 30 albums out & did 2 more the next year. She's amazing, a crowd fave but not really at Dimash's level. Dimash finished second in The Singer for several reasons. 1. The winner was a 30 yr professional female woman from CHINA. 2. Three song choices that were ill advised. 3. He got a throat infection and was told by a doctor to not sing high notes. He ignored the doctor.
He started training at 5 years old.
He has a degree in classical singing, he was offered a position in the Astana Opera, which he declined because he wants to do more pop crossover.

In that The Singer 2017 competition, Dimash was on 2nd position. My guess that the Chinese lady won was because she's been a popular singer in Hong Kong and China for decades. So naturally she has too many fans supporting her. Besides Dimash who's the only foreign guest contestant, the rest of the contestants were all from China & Hong Kong.

Yes, the audience in Russia is a cultural thing, that they are much more serious and very reserved. I do not think that they feel less, they have only learned too well and do not show it at the moment. But Dimash knows that. It is worst in the Kremlin, it is such an official framework that everything is very serious. But in the context of this seriousness, Dimash manages to move even this audience with concerts.
Dimash started school at the age of 5, where it soon became clear that he was something special. He is very ambitious and very hardworking and has learned and trained a lot and is still training in music. The appearance at The Singer was far from his first, but it was the first in a new country. Before that, he was traveling in his country and Russia and has won many prizes.
That with China opened the door to the world, in that it was really something very special. It was also the door to even more professionalism and his first real solo concerts.
