    Thank you! 65 y.o., a beginning knitter and always learning something new :) I wanted to try knitting a baby blanket from the center out square. DPNs were frustrating for slightly arthritic hands. I chose the first method along with magic loop knitting. Several practices = SUCCESS!
    Thank you for sharing your gift of teaching.

    Hi Maryna! Thank you for these instructions. I often wondered how to start a square from the center in knitting. You have lovely gauge, it looks perfect. I'm new to knitting and my stitches are not uniform and lovely like yours. Some day I will. I really like the sweater you are wearing. I'm sure you made it. Thanks again and I'm looking forward to more videos. PS: I'm trying to catch up with all the videos you have so far. You are a great teacher.

      Thank you, Chelin :-) I am happy you enjoy my videos and find them useful. As to the stitches - you are absolutely right - "practice makes perfect". Don't get discouraged and keep knitting, and you'll have perfect stitches before you know it.
      If the look of your stitches bothers you, stay away from stockinette stitch for now. Stockinette is quite "mean" - it highlights all imperfections. That's why many knitters I know have a "love-hate" relationship with stockinette :-)

      When you try to hold the yarn allways in the same way and it's not once loose and once not, the stitches will be more uniform. You'll get it with trying, we all began like you, dear! Don't give up! I'm badly handicapped. When I began I used on the right side a tunesian hook which I had, and now I knit pullovers, socks, cable - knittings and a lot of different knittings! Portugesian way for purled stitches, european and english style for knitted ones and I love it more and more! Believe me: When I can knit , with my allways havy vibrating hands, you will be a great knitter after some practicising time, too! For you it's way better to learn than for me! That I know! Don't give up, take a good time to practice, 15 minutes are better than 2 hours without fun, it'll get better, more and more! And: If I can help you, write me if you want, I'll be there for you this way! Happy Eastern! Be blessed!

    I love all 3 cast-ons for knitting in the round that you show on your video. So neat and pretty. I think knitting would have been a very big part of your childhood 💖. I would like you to show us how to knit your way, the continental way. Thank you for very easy to watch instructions for knitting.

      Thank you for the kind words, Kerry :-) Yes, knitting has been my "happy place" for many years. As to the Continental knitting style, you can learn it from the videos in this playlist - th-cam.com/play/PLH_ldSndCil5VgLn4ReKsqxqKszasHL78.html Happy knitting!

    I'm hoping this will be a good way to start my Knitted Knockers. Since they need 9 sts, this should work perfectly. Thank you.

      I start my knitted knockers with a pinhole cast-on, but I start with 6 sts. Then work a kfb every other stitch to make 9. On subsequent rounds I use m1r for the increases.

    Very clear instructions and very informative.ill give them a try. I want to knit a "cozy" for a quart canning jar.
    Kint in the round and have a bottom to it, not just a sleeve. I could probably knit the bottom section, then knit a tube and finish by stitching them together.
    I love your sweater but I think it would look nicer with form fitting sleeves instead of floppy sleeves.
    Isn't it nice that we're all different so different? Life would be such a bore if we were all the same.

    • @10rowsaday
      @10rowsaday  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hi Shelly, What a great idea to use this pattern to make a "jar cozy"! If you want the bottom of the cozy to be more round than square, form 8 lines of increases instead of 4. I can't agree more - it is awesome that we are all different! Happy knitting, my friend :-)

    Hi Maryna, I've watched your video on how to start a top-down hat and that really helped with a hat design that started on DPNs. At the time I was not very comfortable using DPNS in circular patterns. Thank you!

    Great! Thanks! But there's a 4th way when you do a few stitches for cast on and you use the "stiches back " from the first 4 to 8 stitches to make 3 to 7 stitches through them (and make the 8th through the back). So you can work in the round, using Judith's wonder cast on with the needle for making pullovers and so on (I don't kndw the name, sorry!) It works great, I use it, knitting socks e.g. Be blessed!

    beautiful pattern, but totally over my head. I'm a beginner knitter but haven't knitted in the round, so off I go to learn that first before I tackle this.

    • @10rowsaday
      @10rowsaday  ปีที่แล้ว

      That's a very smart approach to tackle new methods one at a time. No rush. Do it at your own pace :-)

  • @GrandJan46

    Thank you for that. I have to start with 8 sts and I use dbl points. So evenly would be to use 5 needles. I am having trouble joining and have to do a yo in the first round. Maybe I should use a circular needle like you as it looks easier. I knit socks with 4 dbl points and don’t have any problems.

    • @10rowsaday
      @10rowsaday  6 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Janet, I don't see any issues with using double-pointed needles. They work equally well as circulars for a project knit from the centre out. If the project is quite big, like a blanket, for example, you might want to change to circular needles to make sure the stitches are not slipping off double points. Otherwise, use any kind of needles you feel comfortable with. Happy knitting :-)
