    Classic - I remember getting this when it was released on PS2 and being blown away by the players skills - Ever since then ive been hooked on Cave games

    I stand corrected, two deaths on Hibachi and during the infamous washing machine at that. Still quite good.

    As far as I can tell, this guy is NO MISSing the whole two loops. I think this goes beyond superplay into GodlyPlay.

      He does lose one life, though, even before reaching Hibachi, who also ends up taking three extends away from him.
      No Miss runs of DOJ have been accomplished, but damned if it isn't hard.

    Nice mate!:) CAVE games are difficult as hell but they are one of the best shmups out there. The game kicks my ass every time but I still love it

      The game adjusts its difficulty (rank) in realtime depending on how good you are. If you die, the difficulty goes down for a while. Keep surviving and it becomes very difficult. It's a great way to satisfy both beginners and advanced players.

      @@usernameRika | Actually, that's inaccurate.
      The six shmups I know that have exponentially increasing rank are Battle Garegga, Armed Police Batrider, Battle Bakraid, Ibara, Pink Sweets, and Muchi Muchi Pork. The "Bat" games were made by Raizing, while the other three were made by CAVE. All were tailored by Shinobu Yagawa, who created the exponentially increasing rank system that got higher the better you played. And dying is the only way to lower it.
      Dodonpachi Daioujou has a rank system as well, but it's different. Instead of it being based on how you play, it's based by how many times you use the Hyper System. For every one Hyper you use, the rank goes up by a number. Multiple Hypers increase the rank further.
      This is also shown in Sai-Daioujou, which displays the rank counter. For example, if you use 2 Hypers at once, the rank goes up by 2. Use 5, the rank goes up by 5. So opposed to Yagawa's rank system, which is measured by a percentage, Daioujou and Sai-Daioujou rank is kept track off by a simple counter.
      Dying and using Bombs are the only ways to decrease the rank. Bombs lower the rank by 1. Death lowers it by 3.

      @@lancecurry7538 I've heard LLS (Touhou 3 - Lotus Land Story) also has an exponential rank system. If anything, EoSD (Touhou 6 - Embodiment of Scarlet Devil) also has a subtler, but notable rank systrm, where rank increases every X amount of time (up to a certain cap) and decreases by a number of reasons, such as getting hit, bombing, missing items, etc

    I'm not an expert at this game, but most of the superplayers i've watched keep their hypers for the last part of the stage because this is where there are the most enemies, thus getting the most points.

    Touhou is hilariously easy compared to CAVE games

    Pls tell more, what are your best achievements on those cave games?

  • @Fishman465
    @Fishman465 12 ปีที่แล้ว

    it's a matter of what you're used to as Spazdude told me that those not used to Touhou's hitbox sizes even if they're cave vets would have trouble with it. There's also the fact that not bombing is encouraged for the bulk of the scoring in touhou while in Cave games, it's often helpful to scoring.

    • @tinfoilhat404
      @tinfoilhat404 10 ปีที่แล้ว

      It was not me lol.
      I am talking about the person who beated it.

    • @tinfoilhat404
      @tinfoilhat404 10 ปีที่แล้ว

      I think superplayers like that practise everyday

    • @dansegful
      @dansegful 10 ปีที่แล้ว

      maybe, but at least one hour daily, because that's a lot of time for a 38 min game. Which is hard as shit but still very short.
