It is a very rude fraud.
And it is much more harder to find the differences between CREE (USA) and Lattice Bright (China).

T6, U2, Q5 is a color variant from the same LED. T6 is the most blue one over 6500K and giving highest output since it has least amount of phosphor.
Phosphor layers broadens the spectrum raising the color rendering index CRI as well influence the color output. Phosphor-based LEDs have efficiency losses due to the phosphor itself. You can't tell by looking which LED is T6 or U2, neither that is explained in this video.

I have a GT12 inton bike headlamp and the led burned out. I can't find him to buy. The voltage that arrives on the led is 8.2v. I only find led for 3.6V. Can you tell me where to buy?

IMPORTANT QUESTION - do small boards like this require a heatsink? im working on an interior design project, is it a fire hazard?
Surely it requires a heatsink and a thermal grease.
If a turned on flashlight will be inside a bag with some clothes, than you can have some fire. On the open air (even inside buildings) there is no fire hazard.

I want to change the chip with one that works with the same two batteries but with higher lumen
My opinion is - you should better to buy a modern torch.

Also these fakes have a very paltry visual differences from originals and it seems that the XM-L2 is original.
