That Seaver is such a beauty… Tough card to find centered like that. I still find it hard to believe they wouldn’t give that Mantle a higher grade. Sheesh. And that Doby was a steal!
Love that Bill Buckner pinhole pickup, and this is the perfect channel to show some love to the man. 👊😃 That Doby 😍 Happy to be in the ‘68 Seaver SGC club with ya, pal! We even have the exact same grade, love it!
Dude you just dominated the hobby 👊 Man so many insane cards and grading reveals 🤯 so much fun thank you for the close ups and the stories loved every card and that 58’ Mantle is an incredible looking example to my eyes 🤯
Hi Mookie. Tough break on both the Robinson and Mantle. That Seaver is a sweet looking card and you received an awesome grade, congrats. Thanks for sharing my friend.
That has to be the best whatnot outcome I've ever heard Mookie! Sweet Doby! Such a nice photo of Jesse Owens. Cracking Tom Terrific out was dare I say, terrific! Wow, what a stunning card. Really liked the photo on that '39 Playball card as well.
What a fun presentation, Mookie. Great story on Bill Buckner. I watched that live and I think we all knew immediately that was his career defining moment, despite being a brilliant ballplayer for so long. Pleased to hear he turned an unfair lemon into lemonade. Wow on the Doby and Seaver. Good for you. And how appropriate to have a Jesse Owens card in an Olympic year. Thanks for showing us some real treasures. Take care, Rob.
Rob, thanks so much for this thoughtful comment! I’ve spent probably six months to a year on distilling this submission down to 8 cards I care about (and an extra Batman to boot) I’m really happy you appreciate the reveal!
Love the Batman cards!!! Whoa you made a hekuva deal with the Doby!!! Wow that Seaver is so nice man!!!! Super cool Doc mini poster card, very cool!! Congrats sir!!!!
I love how Buckner ended up dealing with everything. A true class act! The Gooden Nike card is probably my favorite of his. The Mel Almada looks so good, sorry for not getting a number grade but the Doby and Seaver sure made up for it. Congrats Mookie
I didn't know Buckner and Mookie were friends, that is cool! Congrats on the returns, love those Batman cards! Thanks for sharing and have a great weekend!
Mookie said he and Buckner saw Ralph Branca and Bobby Thompson basically become besties and do very well ($$$) on the card show circuit - so they joined forces and became like bros! I love that story man
I had never heard of them before, either! It's funny, the serial number on that SBC slab was 0000003682 - so this was one of first few thousand cards they graded. RIP, SBC slab! Thanks Billy, I appreciate it!
Congrats on the Seaver, two Batman and the Monte returns. That Gooden Nike card is sweet! Thanks for pointing out and talking about the logo. I know he didn't have the longevity, but he and Clemens were best pitchers I saw growing up. Well said about Bill Buckner. I am glad he was able to make some money off his error. It is a shame that is how he is remembered by most.
Great return! Congrats on the Seaver that card is sweet! love the Batman cards and that Jesse Owens is a beauty. Glad you talked about Buckner, he really did get a bad rap for a guy with over 2.700 hits and a batting title to his name.
The '85 Topps Dr. K was THEE card for me and my pals as an 11 year old. I distinctly remember pulling my well off-centered copy in my life long buddy's driveway after baseball practice. Still have it. Great ep!
Nice Nike card. My wife got me the Lance Parrish Nike card a couple of years ago for Christmas. // I have graded a few of those Owens German Olympic cards before. They are so thin, they are prone to minor surface defects that the graders notice. Yours looks real good. // Both of those Batman cards are real cool. They look great in the Tux. // Very nice Doby card. // Great Seaver card. That 1968 card is often found off-centered. // Thanks for the neat display.
George, I forgot about the Parrish card. With the tiger, right? That was a cool one too! Thanks for all your insight - I’m glad you could appreciate all of this!
Mookie I had no idea you had a channel. New subscriber alert. Nice pick ups from Westchester. I’ll be there in March and I frequent the Garfield shows. Love that Gooden card. I was fortunate enough to be at his no-hitter. Wow what a game! The Seaver and Doby are absolutely gorgeous. Very very very nice. I’m looking forward to catching up on your channel and for everything that lies ahead. Have a great day buddy
Steve! That’s great! We have to hook up next time in Garfield, pal! Thanks for the kind words, I’m glad you enjoyed the reveal! That Gooden no-no was something else, man. I could not believe he did that for the Yankees, but I was glad for him
I really loved this video. Love the Buckner take for sure! Those batman cards were fire!!! Congrats on the Seaver! I haven't tried SGC yet but am trying to figure out an order to send to them. I have been doing really good with my PSA blind reveal videos. I think they are doing a great job. I hope to get some more videos up soon. Keep up the great work and I cant wait to see more from you. You gained a new subscriber!!
Wow, they assigned you some nice grades! 🤣 I looked up the Seaver and it’s like a $400 card, that’s insane! The Batman cards aren’t cheap either. Screw Graig, you earned those grades, who’s the teacher now! Congrats Mook!
Just call me Professor Chillson hahaha. Keep your eyes peeled for SBC holders! I hate to even admit it now, but I only paid $79 for that Seaver shipped! I know you’ve had similar success - it’s a good feeling!
Aloha Mookie ! Nice variety of stuff. I remember the sweet deal on your Doby. I loved watching the Batman TV Show. Cesar Romero was the Man & Frank Gorshin was scary as the Riddler. Peace
Mookie, unreal returns with the Seaver 7.5. Not gonna lie I’m a little jealous of that 😂. I also feel like it’s ridiculous that SGC could not cross over that mantle. Just not fair.
Sammy, I honestly thought they’d maybe maybe go to 7. I never thoight .5 would get me so excited! I’ll just live with the PSA grade on that mantle - I’m just glad it’s slabbed.
Enjoyed this video Mookie! Loved the Doby & Seaver. Great stuff. Too bad Ted Williams didn't embrace his Mexican heritage. America was different back when he started out.
Mookie, even the "mehs" in this video were mehs-merizing! (Do you have any Johnny Mize to show us in the future? Because that would be Mize-merizing!) Oh man, I was really rooting for your glorious '49 Bowman Jackie to get a numerical grade! Nonetheless, that is one epic card! 🤯🤯🤯 I think there are a bunch of factory-cut "shorties" out there that really deserve a numerical grade, but the grading companies err on the side of caution because their reputation is at stake, which I can understand. Dang it, it sucks when a friend forces a friend to get free money and then that free money is used to buy a free card and then that free card is sent to SGC and it turns out to be a glorious 1953 Bowman Larry Doby in a 5.5! 😂👊 So happy for you on that one! Loved your subtle sarcasm as you described how it all went down! Take care, my collecting brother! 😊👊
Sarcasm??? Moi??!? One day there will be A-Mize-ment at the Chillson world headquarters, I’m sure of it! I was bummed about the Jackie and Mickey, but not enough take away from the overall experience for sure. Thanks Adam - I’m so glad you appreciated the journey!
Some pretty wild cards here Mookie. I had the 1936 Almada card on my watch list but I got outbid for it. Too bad they all didn't get graded. I'd take an Authentic grade, at least it would be slabbed. You're right some hits and misses.
Great story on Bill Buckner. He was a great player, whose career ended up being defined by one play. As you said, he had over 2700 career hits, and he was unfairly blamed by Red Sox fans for losing that 1986 World Series. A bullpen collapse allowed Mookie Wilson to get the at bat where the famous (or as some saw it infamous) play happened. Buckner had bad legs (ankles), so even if he fielded the ground ball cleanly, he wasn't beating the speedy Mookie Wilson to the bag. I was a 16-year-old Red Sox fan watching that World Series. Because of his bad ankles, Buckner was usually pulled for a defensive replacement late in games, but manager John McNamara was overconfident and wanted him on the field for the win (that didn't happen). Buckner being made the scapegoat for that World Series bothered me for longer than losing that Series did.
Steve, you’re so right on all of this! I loved the eventual redemption arc for Bill. He was a really good man. Thanks for watching and for this really thoughtful comment, Steve.
I am always nervous when you pick up ungraded items for fear that you will put a pin hole in them. I like the SGC 3 Batman better as well. I like the deeper red and blue on it. You really have to be happy with the Seaver grade.
We, here at Chillson world headquarters, are fully licensed and insured to handle all raw cardboard. “Thou Shalt Not Create New Pinholes” isn’t just the lone MC commandment, it’s a way of life!
Love SGC. It seems to me that SGC is every bit as strict and thorough as PSA. As time goes by I have to think that SGC cards will be valued almost just as highly as PSA.
That Seaver is such a beauty… Tough card to find centered like that. I still find it hard to believe they wouldn’t give that Mantle a higher grade. Sheesh. And that Doby was a steal!
Wait until you meet Graig, Pete - he’ll help you find steals too!
Love that Bill Buckner pinhole pickup, and this is the perfect channel to show some love to the man. 👊😃 That Doby 😍 Happy to be in the ‘68 Seaver SGC club with ya, pal! We even have the exact same grade, love it!
68 Seaver clubbies! Now I just need a 68 Koosman/Ryan and a 68 Koosman/Ryan buyback and we’ll be total 68 clubbies! Thanks Shane - that’s awesome
Oh my! Congrats on that gorgeous Seaver and the grade! So happy for you.
One day I’ll move back a year and pick up a 67 like you, Dan! Thank you so much!
Beautiful cards. Congrats on the Seaver!! Wowzers!!
And to think, I was initially skeptical on WhatNot… thanks for leading this old horse to water!
Dude you just dominated the hobby 👊 Man so many insane cards and grading reveals 🤯 so much fun thank you for the close ups and the stories loved every card and that 58’ Mantle is an incredible looking example to my eyes 🤯
Dylan I knew you’d love the closeups hahaha thanks pal. You’re a killer!
Great cards Mookie, thank you for sharing
Thanks Orlando! I was just watching you and Robert chat! Great discussion, so glad you got the secret word!
Hi Mookie. Tough break on both the Robinson and Mantle. That Seaver is a sweet looking card and you received an awesome grade, congrats. Thanks for sharing my friend.
Robinson and Mantle were disappointing for sure, but the rest of the cards made up for it! Thanks Stephen - I appreciate your support very much!

I can’t believe my luck on that Doby - and the Seaver too! Thanks Jason - it was a fun day at the world headquarters!
I love how Buckner ended up dealing with everything. A true class act! The Gooden Nike card is probably my favorite of his. The Mel Almada looks so good, sorry for not getting a number grade but the Doby and Seaver sure made up for it. Congrats Mookie
You know it, pal. Billy was all class. That Gooden just brings me all the way back! Thanks Hugo - I always appreciate your support
Awesome reveal Mook! That Doby & Seaver are 🔥!
Congrats!
Thanks Iconic!!! It was Genuinely fulfilling and energizing for me to get these back. I’m thankful you enjoyed it too!

Tony you’re really catching up!! Thanks pal!!!
I freaking love the run down of the show prior !!!
Yeah buddy!! Keeping my train on the tracks!
Cool returns. Batman 🦇. Gold Cup Seaver 🎉 Doby 🎉 awesome showcase
This was a treat to share, I’m so glad you appreciate it! Thanks Adam!
Awesome cards! Great story on Buckner making a positive out of a negative.
Thanks RedRum - totally! Billy turned it all around eventually. Great example.
@@mookiechillson You're welcome!
Wow, awesome, Seaver! I've never heard of SBC. Who would have thought they would have graded that card tougher than SGC!

Phenomenal Doby! '53 Bowman!🤯 And for the price!
Thanks, Warren! The prices is… priceless hahahah thanks pal
Great cards! Congrats on the Doby and Seaver!
Thanks Jason! This was a grading submission to remember for me.
Love that Seaver! It came out with such a nice grade, and looks super in the tux. Congrats!
I love those tuxes, too! Thanks for come over, I appreciate your kind words!
The '85 Topps Dr. K was THEE card for me and my pals as an 11 year old. I distinctly remember pulling my well off-centered copy in my life long buddy's driveway after baseball practice. Still have it. Great ep!
You and I were living that same dream, Peeps! Doc was just the greatest phenomenon in baseball back then!
I like your take on Buckner. A class act man. Thanks for sharing.
Bill was a class act. Makes that pinhole Bill a “giant card” in my book!
Wow! That Tom Seaver result was awesome! Congrats a.k.a. Graig's Dad.
It couldn’t have gone better - thank you Mike!
What an awesome Tom Seaver. Great stuff all around.
I was shocked it did so well - thanks Doug! You keep making so much sense!

Thank you for staying thru the meh and sharing my joy Rabbi!!
Hi Mookie! Great show. The Mantle I agree is better than a 2. But still a ‘58 Mantle! Cool Batman cards. Awesome 5.5 grade on the Larry Doby!
Thanks Kid! I totally agree on the Mickey - it’s alllll good in the end.
Congrats on the great return! Your experience is exactly why I always select crossover no matter what. Of course I am highly slab selective.
sound thinking, John! I admire your SGC dedication, cards really do pop in those tuxedos
@@mookiechillson My dedication is driven by the fact that I only want cards for display on my wall so they HAVE to look the same.
Great stuff here! Love that Seaver I need one of those in the pc one day. I would be nervous as well cracking it out. Enjoyed!
The Seaver is just a classic in my opinion - and you can find inexpensive versions of that card! Mine only cost $75 before I cracked it! Thanks Scoot!

Pretty solid grades. Especially that Seaver. Dig that Doby too.
The color on the Batman cards is great.
Thanks Jason! I’m so glad you watched! More good than bad/meh for sure!
