Since the inception of this series Oliver Grayson has been a clear fan-favorite, considering We have been asked in every video’s comment section to make a video on him. Now… is finally the time. Making his debut in episode 4 of season 2 of invincible Oliver Grayson is the son of Nolan Grayson and half brother of Mark Grayso. Oliver is a complex character and one who we see a lot of character development for over the series. Oliver very much reminds me of Damian Wayne from a personality perspective, and his actions often can seem selfish… but he is one of the most interesting and well written characters in the series.

Fun fact: Oliver is actually named after Debbie’s father. So, technically he’s Oliver Grayson II.
I don't think Debbie's maiden name is Grayson so that wouldn't've been true because Debbie's father would have a different last name.
Grayson is just a name Nolan put at the end of his own to look more human.

I like how even Oliver's children, like himself, have almost zero physical features of their mother and are mostly Viltrumite, despite being technically only 25% Viltrumite. It's as if Viltrumite DNA really overwrote the other races' DNA overtime, bringing the hybrid closer to a pureblood Viltrumite the more they aged.
It makes us wonder if they could ever match pureblood and human-hybrid Viltrumites in power if given enough time to mature and train... too bad we'll never see that happen in the series.
Yeah they explained that’s the case in season 1. Eventually the viltrumite dna becomes dominate and they become basically 99% viltrumite

Probably should have covered this but this guy got it right^
Also notice how Oliver's children had more Viltrumite features and zero insectoid features, despite being technically 25% Viltrumite.
Maybe the Viltrumite DNA really overwrites the other race's DNA for the most part, so all hybrid Viltrumites end up closer to pureblood Viltrumites the more they age.
Still, it seems that not being a human/Viltrumite hybrid really limits their potential: despite having five years to grow in strength, Oliver never got to the same level as Mark or Nolan. This is a sharp contrast to Mark, who, according to Conquest himself, was almost stronger than Nolan by the time of their rematch.

I really liked the moment in the episode where Nolan describes how he's changed and wants to be now that he has a new family. Mark goes from seeing this new family as a replacement to a real catalyst for Nolan abandoning his duty to Viltrum. Mark just said "Why didn't you change for us". Really hit me in the feels
I’m loving Season 2 so far. I’m excited to see who they get to voice Oliver . loved seeing Clancy brown and Phil lemar join the voice cast on the show

I read Invincible while I was in school and never thought it would get a show due to no one knowing about, im very happy the story is being changed to suit a more stable narrative and it keeps us long time fans curiousity.
the music and different perspectives on the same events is super satisfying rather than reading with ominous music lmao

@VeotheVillain my guess would be yeah, they have been tweaking some minor things from the comic series to the show but I feel like Oliver's death would be a pretty big plot point to change.

Hopefully it stays that way, little concerned about Allen the show runner was saying something likes " will see him in some capacity or form again" and now im worried instead of having him buffed up he'll be like a damn half cyborg or a head in a jar or something lol but I hope not he's probably just saying stuff like that for show only viewers is all, but yeah unlike the lame Boys I really hope Invincible stays as close to 100 percent to the comics as it possibly can.

The story of Invincible is really cool, but I really hope the show doesn’t include the time travel arc where Mark misses out on five years of his life and his daughter’s. It felt like a cheap gut punch, and didn’t really serve a purpose other than to give Thragg time to breed his army. A five year time skip in between seasons would achieve the same effect imo

I really hope they give Oliver's kids some more screentime to interact with Terra, not necessarily for them but to rund out more of Terra's character. The most we ever see of that is her saying that babies are boring and being annoyed at having to hang out with them when she could be having fun with her new powers. Or bring them more into the Emperor Mark and make the Grayson family seem bigger than just Mark, Eve & Terra (since we dont really get to see Debbie or Marky post Thragg & Robot war either)
I guess if they, Marky & maybe Marky's sister were with them in the final 500 year timeskip page, itd be difficult to tell from the distant perspective of the reader, since by that point all of them would've changed to their Viltrumite parents' skin tone and no longer be red - or black in Marky's sister's case
Marty's sister would still have black (light brown skin)........ Black Viltrumites exist, meaning that skintone exist within viltrum DNA, added to the fact that Human and Viltrum DNA is extremely compatible. If your statement were fully true, Mark would not visibly look half Asian and skin tone slightly darker than his father.

Despite being respected by his dad, tech jacket and Alan; Oliver idolized his brother the most. Despite his brother being slightly inferior, mark's strength, selflessness and amazing compassion is why he wants to be like his brother but cant since he processes emotions faster than humans

This is why I Invincible. Unlike DC the world isn't going to bend over backwards just to make Mark's no killing rule valid. Oliver unlike Jason or Damian is allowed to be right. And unlike Jason he stays dead.

My personal gripes are him having more a regular skin instead of what made him stand out as a hybrid. Also, the time he died and atomeve claims she couldn't revive him, like recently did to herself since even in her adult years she would have probably had a go with the idea. But thats just me.
I mean don't know why you'd expect him to stay purple since Viltrumite DNA overwrites a majority of the other species DNA so its more like 50/50 . Also he died way before eve could've saved him, he would've had to have been still alive for her to save him
Thragg gave Oliver a fatal blow and by the time Mark Eve got there he was already dead and don't forget thragg and his daughter got in the way so she couldn't
