5:57 That "sorting M&Ms" thing is a board game called "GO." A 4000 years old chinese game, also popular in Japan. It's actually quite fun. Simple mechanics that are easy to understand, but allows for a lot of depth in strategies. The game is about capturing territory. You place the stones on the points where lines intersect, rather than in the spaces, and if you can circle an intersection with your pieces, that intersection now belongs to you. If you circle a piece belonging to your opponent in the same way, you capture those pieces like in chess, and the intersections they once occupied and controlled are now yours. The winner is the person that controls the most territory when the game ends. Simple as that.
I'm not trying to be goofy or anything, but I'm entirely certain that convention center is larger than the small town I currently live in. That's fucking nuts.
13:30 Finally an 8-string that's not just a strat/tele, and it's even a V! Yet somehow I am more interested in the hollowbody with the violin-esque bridge behind him? lol
Flying 17 hours?! Dear god you mad lad. Awesome work! Edit: Also way to go man, super fun seeing your evolution over the years. I don't know you personally, but from some rando Canadian dude, I'm proud of you dude!
In my college Wind Ensemble, I played percussion and we did 8 shows across three cities in China (Chengdu, Xi'an, and Beijing.) As an American, I absolutely loved my interactions with native Chinese people, and they really enjoyed our shows. So many people asked me (and others in the group) for pictures. The majority of Chinese people were super interested in speaking English to us, as most of them had not interacted with a native English speaker before. My visa is good until 2029, and I absolutely plan to go back for an extended period. China is a fantastic country, and I'd suggest that anyone with the means to travel there do so.
Modding slanted pickups is really hard (in finding things that fit.) You end up having to get things custom ordered or route them to use the next size up blade style. To put Fishman in there you are routing it to fit a 9 string set. It would make a fun video.
The Explorer with every button/switch combo known to every being from every realm ever at :13:03 is simply; amazingly, Chinese. AND just as awesome as the MIDI Clarinet People/Folk. I had no Idea that I loved that Shit!! Now I do and I'm looking at some right now. You have expanded a brain cell of a westerner through content-e'o-meiosis. I heard a smart person say it once. Maybe. Might of just been me talking to myself about this, as it was happening.. I might be the victim here. TBD~ I'm going to be referencing this video for quite a few things. Thank you. 'preciate it. For Braving Shang-Hi as a Long Haired, Sunglasses at night, semi chugularity capable fleshbag/meatsac/soultrap kinda cat that I might actually get along with for more than 7 seconds in real time. The future is promising and I look forward to a time where people don't judge and dictate what folk are by things they never had a choice in.

Question to any readers; As someone who's comfortable with doing 6 string floyd rose adjustments and stuff, I'm looking to buy a 5 string Squire affinity bass and from where I'm from it's pretty much my entire budget. Have anyone played one of those? If i adjust the hardware does it play well?

I don't think I said anything the local authorities wouldn't like. On the contrary, I actually mentioned multiple times how much I enjoyed my stay and how positively surprised I was by Shanghai as a tourist
China is capable of producing quality instruments. I know I sure love my Recording King resonator guitar. It's not only good looking...it also sounds amazing. IIRC it was made in Shanghai !!
Not worth giving money to enter the Gibson sponsored luthier booth presumably out of disdain for Gibson and then proceeds to shred on a Gibson Les Paul thus promoting their brand on your channel. Nice!😁🤗😘😉

I'd like to see a video of any new guitar you can get ahold of
That little girl watching him play guitar just found her passion in music. That was adorable.
Thanks for stopping by our booth!
Thanks for making the best strings objectively (NYXL and XS. Pls make an 8 string XS set)

Music = vibration
Electric toothbrush : vibrates
Brushing your teeth = making music
Yeah okay the guitars and stuff are cool, but can we talk about the glorious hair + shirt combos he wore this whole video?
Shanghai weather let me bust out the Magnum PI outfits for another week
Robots have been able to beat me at chess for ages. Few of them are any match for me at hide and seek, though.
I'll be more surprised when there's a robot that's WORSE than me at chess.
