Imagine if no one shared anything, we’d have no experiences to relate to and would further feel all alone in our situations, I think the important think is to know why you’re sharing what you’re sharing and to make sure it’s a safe space to do so. I did share a career opportunity with someone and guess what happened? She got me an interview….3 interviews so far.

We learn from different people's experiences, those people share a part of their experiences with you not all. I can bet one person's experience that they told you is not up to 10% of their personal life, they tell a part and we think we know them all? You can share experiences when you try to prove a point or want them to learn, just be careful not to disclose too much and know who you're sharing with.

@@ebelemaria1004 it really surprises me when I see naija celebs post their new homes, cars, acquisitions etc. you know this is what causes a lot of butthurt people to criticise the source of their wealth. Especially those dusty men that demand to know the source of income of a woman as if that’s any of their business. Keep things private. Especially if you’re doing better than people financially. It pains certain people to see you earn more for seemingly doing less. You’re thinking you’re Inspiring but many people have low self esteem and will see it as peppering them.

For people who have got in a place where they've told too much. I personally have had to be mindful and intentional when you see them and they ask " how are you? " Keep it short and sweet " I'm good thanks. Hope you're good" and kinda leave it there. Sometimes they will ask questions that don't require a yes or no to draw you into telling stuff like
"Your hair is nice where did you do it?" It's not a yes or no answer and can draw you into an unnecessary conversation. Don't hold malice. Keep it short and sweet and be alert

I wished I had seen this just about a year ago to remind me to not overshare and share these points. Now I know, no matter what, some ppl will never like you for whatever reasons. But if you listen and do not share these, they have very little to use against you. I removed myself from a friendship because they went to church, behaved generously, spoke graciously, and then bam! A person can never hide their true self. It usually only takes on average 90 days to see their true colors. It's forgivable but I have my sense of peace and valuable time back to myself. That's priceless. I'm so glad to have found your channel!

This is extremely interesting particularly in the age we are living in. As a very private person myself, it can be interpreted as being guarded and / or coming across as perfect. When you are like that some will seek out your flaws to console themselves about their own state. However, in the wider climate where mental health is a consideration nowadays it is important to be careful not to discourage ppl speaking out when it is absolutely necessary e.g. in cases of abuse and/or where there is a danger to life. Keeping things like that private could be disastrous regardless of any potential haters seeking to exploit situations. A stiff upper lip some cultures promote but those lips must open at the appropriate time. I am able to use mine accordingly. 😊

@@Dinah5822 Balance, I share my good experiences as well as not so positive. But in times where I have no cause to complain, why must it be fabricated for the purpose of another?! I love to share POSITIVITY, ASPIRATIONAL and ACHIEVABLE STANDARDS with REALISM, based on ETHICS and DEPTH OF CHARACTER. I’m only content to be close to those who can rejoice in my successes as opposed to anyone seeking my commiserations. 😊

Know this and know peace. They’re trying to manipulate information out of you. Many people are out for their own selfish gain. You think they care about you preserving your image. No they don’t dear. It’s your responsibility to guard it jealously

    • @omotolaadegoke8830
      @omotolaadegoke8830 ปีที่แล้ว +1

@tatiana you’re correct that ppl are sometimes out for their own self interest, that speaks volumes about them + their character and that’s for their conscience before Jehovah God. Mind you, I do not take slander lightly particularly when there’s no substantive truth and / flagrant attempts to make an outright lie appear true. Intention matters. A mistake I can forgive if the perpetrator is willing to talk, but if it’s intentional wickedness then I pity them. Image and reputation I value but I’m not vain and the world does not revolve around me. HOWEVER attempt to ruin my image on the basis of my principles…we gonna have serious words.

keeping things to yourself is so important because people just love to twist every single word and everything you do. You can have the best intentions and someone will say something negative about what you did, a thought that never crossed your mind because it's just not who you are. Don't allow people to cross your boundaries, like-minded people and people that are meant to appreciate who you are and know your worth will know.

Then when, we need to careful everyday minding our health, mind & body what we do and the reactions of body or mind or depression or anything which affects or leads to excess sharing ourselves after we lost ourselves.. If this all needs to happen as we need, focus on you and your thoughts and action everyday and the changes happening to mind & body.. Hmmm, you just got yourself an ardent follower. I've been watching but not following. However, this sold me!
I'm a private person but recently circumstances badgered my walls of defense and it came tumbling down! It was a terrible experience and I'm still reeling from the shock and hurt. This made me recoiled back into my shell with regrets on why I lost muster. Thus, this is so welcoming, endearing and reaching. Now I know what I should focus on instead of the pain of betrayal.
I really, really appreciate this. Keep up the good work, you don't know how many lives you are touching by these content of yours. You are loved and appreciated 💕💕💕.

Wow! Proverbs 21:23 for real!!! Your counsel goes hand in hand with reading ONE chapter of Proverbs per day! How I wish I could turn back the CLOCK of time! Great counsel! YES, I agree this does NOT apply to abusive relationships that require INTERVENTION! Practical & Godly wisdom for sure. Thanks a million!

I’m a recovering over sharer lol. It’s not the best thing. However, I think sometimes it’s about finding some balance and not necessarily fixed rules. Sharing might be necessary sometimes for some people, in some cases. It’s just important to know who one is sharing with and be mindful of that.

Winnie, I think WHO we share some information to is the main issue. If we all keep things to ourselves then depression may set in.
Some persons are very good at keeping secrets while some struggle to do so, they are better at letting it out.

I liked the fact that you ended the talk with Bible passages. The outcome of sharing whatever is dependent on when, how, what and who you are sharing with. Sharing life challenges you have overcome could serve as encouragement to others going through same things. Above all, reliance on the Holy Spirit in all we do is paramount.
