I'm gonna make an incredibly bold prediction that I have almost no evidence for whatsoever, but I can't help but think that with these unexplained disappearances in the Don't Starve universe seemingly becoming more and more apparent to the people on earth to the point where it's reaching headlines, (and here's my prediction) the Constant- whether it's Charlie's influence or simply some kind of instability between both worlds, is gradually leaking into and changing earth at an increasing rate. In fact, what if the "return of Them" is not _"Them"_ returning to the Constant, but to earth? After all, how did Maxwell (A.K.A William Carter) discover the Codex Umbra on earth if something magical like that could have only existed in the Constant? Perhaps it was "Them" who, at some point in the far flung past, was on earth and had to flee back into the Constant, leaving their ancient and forbidden knowledge behind, only for some poor sucker like Maxwell to find and fall down a rabbit hole I'm sure he never intended to...
Imagine being so dedicated to your role that you'd rather starve yourself then eat a berry and break character, that's how badly she wanted to succeed as an actress, to the point of leaving everything she had for the sake of her passion.
@Mason caddick she also frequently mentions how dying isn't be so bad because people will live on in valhalla so i think she'd rather die with dignity because she would live on in valhalla than break charcter
@Mason caddick Wigfrid thinking: my god the props are really good almost life like Wilson: run away from deerclops!!! Wigfrid still thinking: ... The performance of these actors as well I really wanna read the papers after the show

Oh no, people thought was a great fit for the character, and that is the whole problem, she got type-casted more or less. I am most impressed by the animation in this short. The newspaper dragon sequence is probably the best animated scene Klei has done yet, hands down. Truly a magnificent short.
I swear, if Klei just has an animation department, and makes Don’t Starve into an animated series on a big network like Netflix or Hulu or something, I would support it 100%. These little shorts are so full of charm and character that it begs to see a larger screen.

I feel like her finally letting her true colors as a stage performer show through is a sign of her having developed extreme trust in the other survivors. How sweet!
I actually think she is the only character that is happier in the constant, since there she can fully commit to what she truly loves, being a fearless viking, not the money and fame that clearly wasn't fulfilling for her
I think Wormwood and Wurt are happy to stay there too. Wormwood is thirsty for knowledge and wants to know and explore the world. Wurt, on the other hand, wishes to expand her kingdom. At the same time I think they are too naive and innocent to understand the brutality of "The Constant". Wx-78 and Walter don't really care about the constant i think. The first is an automaton, The second, similar to Wigfrid, sees the whole world as a means of testing his Boy Scout skills, or maybe he is just too fearless to care enough.

YOOO THIS IS AWESOME! THE LORE KEEPS GETTING MORE AND MORE INTERESTING!
I honestly never expected Wigfrid, OUT OF ALL PEOPLE, to make a deal with THE Maxwell
This is really great, i am always looking forward to new animations, just a revelation!

Wigfrid: Uhm, wh-
Maxwell: *Would you like to?*

her voice is good as hecc
love you klei ❤
1:42 "I can make the world your stage" you know, the whole game is just a stage
Metaphorically? Or literally? I’m not good enough at the game to have actually reached the end
Its theory that all dont starve games are just a stage performance like when you switch cameras its like there is a paper that flip of like a figure in a stage
@@myb0805 Or how the waves look like cutouts on sticks in the original DS
@@couchfrenchfry6132 the stage for a warrior, for that she is crazy. Maxwell didnt lied in both offers
Thank you to you all
Amazing! Never thought I'd want a Don't Starve 'The Anime' so much
That slow, solo clap gave me freaking chills, because I knew who it had to be before we saw him. Amazing fight scene, too. This is one of the best Klei animations to date.
Never thought I’d see Maxwell again like this
This is very Sad. She's one favorite Characters. Yet, this story almost had me Crying. 😭
Great work Klei.
Oh, I definitely got misty-eyed as well. She's my main, so when she hurts, I feel it. This was just so beautifully done. Absolutely stunning work from Klei.
But Warly's short? Straight up balling my eyes out, unashamed. Too many feels!
@@Havron, same.
0:51 10/10 COOL BATTLE ANIMES
These animations are always amazing, it gives characters more personality and shows us more about them
Moral of the story: when your life is boring dire hair red And carry around large sharp objects
LORE! LORE! WHAT AN ANIMATION! SUCH BEAUTIFUL MUSIC! CONGRATULATIONS, DEAR KLEI!
Damn, that backstory hits hard. Great job!
Wigfrid: (starts singind)
Me: aw, she wants to re-live her moments of glory
Also wigfrid: (changes the whole art stlyle and starst fighting a giagent news-paper serpent)
Me: nevermind, Klei was just being Klei
Ahhh, yes. Thanks to that incredibly well animated fantasy sequence, now everybody can perceive Wigfrid the way that I have for years. Thank you for this, Klei. You've made Wigfrid mains very, very happy this day.
Oh you don't know how much I love this gameplay
Another brilliant video, definitely wasn't expecting the stylistic change in the middle there but it makes a lot of sense considering wigfrids mindset !
hot dang Jeff really went off on us huh
This is great! Wigfrid is basically the only character I feel confident to fight with, so a rework is gonna be fun! Also this short is *mwah* so good. I’m excited to see what’s in store for other characters, and I really hope for a Webber Rework sometime soon.
Now you got one :D
I really love all these animations. I’m a big fan of the game but these animations really hit home the lore. Wonderful job as always.
I am most impressed by the animation in this short. The newspaper dragon sequence is probably the best animated scene Klei has done yet, hands down. Truly a magnificent short.
They're keep improving this game.Valve can learn a lesson or two
or 3
whait i forgot thats a mith
I want to disagree by saying that L4D2 got the update on a same day as DST but it was created by the community so you can argue if it counts.
@@-ers7827 cough tf2 cough
@@bradynstanley3201 "Now now, there's no such thing as three." - Gabe Newell
Well that would only count for TF2, the singleplayer games are already perfect and they can't really change the CSGO formula
I swear, if Klei just has an animation department, and makes Don’t Starve into an animated series on a big network like Netflix or Hulu or something, I would support it 100%. These little shorts are so full of charm and character that it begs to see a larger screen.
"The Curtain Calls"
Caught my attention due to playing a certain meticulous Virtuoso.
Wonderful performance indeed.
1:18
Is this what they describe as "chills".
I like it.
This is definitely one of- if not my favorite short so far! I absolutely loved the sudden switch in animation styles.
Crazy animation Klei! I can't wait to check out the refresh for myself! Great job as always!😄
I like how she knows how to make the props and transcribe the ballads by heart
Almost like she was so obsessed with the play that made her famous every Freebthought is dedicated to it
damn klei really knows how to visually represent how we feel playing Wigfrid.
"String of strange disappearances"? Does that mean a lot of the DS characters originated from the same time period
Well, I think so. According to wiki:
11. November 1903 Abigail Lilian Cartet and Wendy Carter are born
17. April 1906 (San Francisco) Maxwell and Charlie had their final act
Wigfrid is transported to Constant
39. March 1911 New York liblary burns down (Wickerbloom get transpoted in Constant.
16. April 1914 Wendy hears Ragtime in her dreams (and is transported to constant)
1919 a Woxola radio is build Wagstaf and Wiona get dragged to the Constant
Woodie is transported to the Constant.
1921 Wilson has build a portal and is tragged to the Constant
Walter is dragged to Constand after investigateing Woodies cabin
@@Karak-_- I don't know, sounds fishy chief
@@MilhSpears What's wrong?
@@Karak-_- Well, when Walter gets in the moon is already broken. As far as we know Together is at the end of DS timeline, so walter came in a lot of time after other survivors. Characters like Woodie and Wicker were in already.
@@MilhSpears Yes, thank you. I probably wasn't thinking enough while writing it.
This is amazing. Wigfrid is one of my favorites in Don't starve. I adore this short! 🥰
Thank you, Klei, for the greatest survival game and the best characters.
That’s a fun Monkey’s paw with “I can put your name in the headlines”
omg Klei, the animations only get better...it's amazing how you dedicate yourself to all your work, thank you very much for that ;D
I like how all of her pictures and decorations are of her. She's the female William Shatner.
Seeing Maxwell again in a short after all this time gave me goosebumps, We need more on how Maxwell persuaded everyone imo
So that means Wigfrid is technically a fictional character and not her ?
Yep. Wigfrid isn’t her real name
@@youtubec8563 so whats her real name?
@@aletheaxl At 00:51 you can see it on the newspaper, but it's scratched out and illegible. I assume it's like this because they haven't given her a "real" name
@@TheActionAsk ok thx
I am always amazed by these animations! Good job klei! This game is soon going to end up big!
I noticed that he did exactly what he promised. He put her in the headlines and he gave her the properties of her character before dumping her in a world of legend
Klei always does an amazing job and each animation keeps getting better
This video is so high quality, that I thought the sound of Maxwell clapping was real.
Well done klei I was waiting for Webber or Wigfrid animation! Right before early October which is my birthday
I love how people still acknowledge that their friends, family or known people are missing from their world. But don't know their trapped in another realm far from reach.
Love all of your work and the fact that you keep delivering, thanks for everything.
Every little piece of animated lore that gets unravelled is a joy to watch
I feel like her finally letting her true colors as a stage performer show through is a sign of her having developed extreme trust in the other survivors. How sweet!
I love how each animated short gives nuggets of info and then leaves me even more curious about the lore! Brilliant work, Klei!
Griftlands look a little weird today.
I absolutely love how it's always these animations that inspire me to push forward and inspire me to animate! I love this so much, thank you!
To be fair he didnt lie, she gets the constant as her stage and im sure a famous actress going missing will put her in the headlines
Absolutely wonderful, Klei! I loved seeing that combat animation. It was beautifully made as always and the singing was ASTOUNDING!
@@neutralit-y4255 Wormwood and Wurt are native to the constant, so they don't really know anything better I was comparing her more to the others that were "abducted"
Wilow sees constant as a new begining so i guess that counts
Klei you’re spoiling us with these animations, bravo.
The thing is here is that Maxwell keeped his promise
i adore this! Wigfrid has been my favorite character since the start because she was an actress, and now I learn she was a Prima Donna too! Ahhhh! Love it! Love it so much. Great work Klei!
This is it chief
The way Wig did all of that in her nightgown...
