I was thinking about getting some of these and modifying them to run on external power and from external audio source, without battery or radio. After seeing the mainboard, I'm not sure that would be a feasible task. I mean the sound is good and they're compact, but for a stationary installation I should probably not (ab)use these. 🙄 Maybe I'd have to remove the electronics altogether and just use the mechanics of it. But it's interesting to know how the case could be opened! 🙂

The battery is a twin 18650 pack. I would guess there is a temperature sense in it as well. This battery pack can be easily built. And it’s cheap too. I would upgrade the battery to a higher capacity for longer battery life too!
Thanks for the teardown. There are two individual power sources BUT on the paper. Inside the speaker, there are only ONE battery pack (power source) shared with the two audio amplifiers. The reason for the manufacturer to highlight "two individual power sources" (again, a lie) is because there is a small crosstalk of the left and right amp channels but for this kind of application, it does not matter. What is really true is the fact that there are separated amplifiers for the full range woofers and the tweeters which hopefully are driven by a virtual active crossover driven by the DSP (hopefully). Removing the passive crossover circuit provides more power and much better frequency separation. I'm so sick of the Chinese lies on their products that I don't believe on their specification.
Thanks, interesting to see. I jusr recieved mine ($70 Amazon Black Friday sale). it's a lot heavier than I expected. Which is a good thing since I don't care about portability.

Have you accidently pressed the very left button to disable the bass? Then press it again to re-enable it. The white LED next to the button will then turn on again. You might also want to install the app to change the equalizer settings. I achieved much better sound by turning the mids down in the equalizer. You should never press the left button or it will disable the custom settings. (They can be enabled again in the app.)
