Honestly, I have to agree. I just got promoted to B class (What were they thinking?) and I did my first VRS race. My god, 40 minutes, a pit stop, and 20 other cars your level. It was the BEST racing I have ever had in my life. iRacing really is magical.
Nice race buddy. There is a great community behind this car/series that you will get familiar with names and know who you can have good racing with (myself included). Plus you have the 100% length races that are brilliant too. Just need to get that license up to an A so you can do the officials. Hopefully see you on track soon.

Can really recommend the 100% length races. More strategy options and people are more patient and conservative. Must try. It will start when the 2023 f1 season starts and will mirror the schedule when possible.
They actually, when your in the pits, have cards which show track limits for each corner so you can get an idea how hard you can push

Elite driving, I love this series on iRacing because the race plays out more like a real F1 race with the separation you can get by being a quicker driver rather than relying on management of the op ERS in the F1 game.
I just wanted to add for clarity: The reason you can't change ERS on the outlap is because the Week 13 Races are usually fixed setup which locks the ERS in place. You'll be able to control it in the open setup series next week
But can you use it on the race? He was keeping it at 85%

On this car, ERS activates when you push approximately 90% of throttle. If you want not to deploy ERS, you just can push throttle on less than 90%, and save a charge. It will be useful, for example, on an outlap in qualifying, or during the race on overtake preparation
love seeing you get into an actual sim this is top tier content, keep it up 🤙🏽
I'm so happy you are getting in to iRacing. It is such a fun long journey with some truly great racing in so many categories. My biggest piece of advice as you progress is to always have fun. Whenever I started stressing about races or taking my iRating too serious always drove worse and had bad races. A lot of great people on that service willing to give advice! Enjoy the journey, love watching you progress. Nothing compares to iRacing its worth every penny.

one thing that really helped me (yea im not a great racer on road but im improving) the tip i have is to assume everyone around you has absolutely no racecraft or awareness until proven other wise this has actually helped me alot

I recently saw a video on iracing that had a good tip. Turn the engine sound down and tire sound up to hear when you are going over the limit of the tire you can hear it "break" the limit. You can adjust your driving throughout the race in conjunction to where the limit is at the current time. It's nice to see you happy driving again!

you're progressing quickly and I can see that you're enjoying it, which is the most important thing, but the feeling of connection with the car is great and perhaps the most important thing in racing, the fastest way to learn in a community is to sign up for a league and race there with people you'll meet, because iracing lobbies can be harsh

Racelabapps has an overlay called "Boost Box", this is an overlay like in the f1 game for your ers management. Really recommend to have this one enabled on your screen as well!
You can change your screen on the wheel to the warmup mode. The warmup mode shows you the tyre temps.
you should try some gt cars also, your pace is really good, love the iracing content
As always love the content. I'll be running more of these f1 cars really curious to see how it plays out on long runs. I did some ir-18 last season and it's really fun. Also thank you helped me with my recordings by mentioning locking the frame rate. Much much better that way. Also curious what screen are you using? Thinking of moving to triples or using an ultrawide? Makes a big difference imo. Cheers!
FYI: You can go to the pits in the middle of qualifying if you botch your first lap. Just make sure you stop and hit esc before you begin your second one.

Glad you are on iracing. I always said I never wanna try it because I loved the f1 experience but once I got into it I never played F1 again. I tried a year later but damn that's indeed just an arcade game. I started with open wheel only but now I'm racing the GT3, IMSA, Porsche cup some oval occasionally. iracing made me love any kinda racing in general from only loving F1. nothing can beat it.
The Only thing that bugs me about iracing is that their schedules of Tracks/Cars that they bring up is fine tuned to make you pay the most and the FFB is made for higher standard Wheels. If you start playing, you need to aim for a cheap mid-Tier wheel and expect to buy a LOT of cars and Tracks over the first year. To enjoy it fully without constantly limited in choice expect to drop a few hundred bucks into it.

You’re actually enjoying yourself in these races. I think your skills are better spent in iRacing. Codies needs to step up to deserve the amount of time you put in.
It should give you a track limit briefing before going on the track if i believe, in the replay menu on the left side before getting in the seat.
For the purpose of watkins, u can go as wide as the curbs, so as long as a part of your car in the curbs your good.
going over the bumps spooks me every time watching. F1 22 would send you in the stratosphere

the GT3/GTE series have really good races and i suggest you try them out too
the general rule of thumb (in my opinon) is that the slower the cars are, the closer racing you get. many of my best races have been in the skip barber series, the cars are slow but most fun in my opinion
A major tip about this track is that the at every curb the limit of the track is the end of the curb,on turn one you have to carry as much speed as possible and just leaving your right tires on the edge of the curb :)

not gonna lie, kinda glad you made the jump to iRacing. that being said I do hope you give ovals a try as well as the nascar side of it, even the gt3. I do suggest giving RF2 a shot as well. never stick to just one thing, the burnout you'll get is the worst you've ever known. after 5 thousand hours in forza motorsport 7 I learned that the hard way

I'm sure someone said it already but the new lap only starts when you cross finish line. so if you screw up lap1 you can reset to pits and do another outlap and lap2.
in the w12, the ers would not deploy unless you went over like 75% throttle, so just stay under that on the outlap

Best way to save your ers is go less then 100% throttle on the out lap. Ers is only deployed at 100% throttle. In open setup sessions you will be able to do no deploy mode
Pushing 60 here and by no means the quickest but still loving the F1 iracing for that authentic feel, having switched from F1 22 as well. Luckily I have my A license from grinding through F3 a year or two back but felt high-end driveable open wheel choices were lacking back then. Since the Mercedes, not any more! Love to see this content because your journey mirrors my own in this class and following @stuffeyy (give this guy some love - his channel is awesome too) for those crucial tips is a must for anyone contemplating this series.
This is my local track i live 15 minutes away me and my grandpa went there every year for 15 years, great memories.
I would recommend for your starts to use the clutch with it's bite point. You can get a much better start if you start with around 50% of the clutch still holding.
When you come into the lobby, you can see the track limits rules for the track you are racing. It depends as you experienced with what the limit is. It can be the white line, the kerb or no limit
On watkins glen u can go a bit wide without getting track limits its not the white line on the inside of the curb but the on on the outside
Only the fixed series you can’t adjust the ers. In open setup jeverything unlocked. Also in fixed qualify outlap just have to stay under 95% throttle.
You should consider trying VR in iracing, vr in this game is unbelievable and literally puts you in the car. I would recommend the HP Reverb G2. Amazing clarity.

I know you are primarily an F1 youtuber but boy oh boy the GT3 fixed scene on iracing is insanely fun, you should try using the Porsche 991.2 GT3R or maybe the AMG GT3 EVO

new seeing iracing video but what do the 6.7k mean on the driver?
Oke let's break down the ERS for you,
In total there are 5 different ERS settings 1: No Deploy 2: Quali 3: Attack 4: Balanced 5: Build
The series you're doing is Fixed setup which mean you can't change the ERS at all. In the race it will be set to Balanced (4) and in Quali it is set to Quali (2), if you only use 80 ish % of the trottle the ERS will charge itself when you are in Quali ERS mode.
Balanced will be your most used in races also in non fixed races. Every lap you can change the ERS 4 times, so start with Balanced then you can go to attack once, go back to balanced then go to attack once more and then back to balanced. Now you're stuck in balanced for the rest of the lap. At the top of your steering wheel the Deploy 4 indicates how many times you can change the ERS for that lap. Hope this helps!

how that F1 gear shift go on iRacing..... you must rew over the shifting light (blue)? On Assetto corsa if you rew engine over the shifting lights car is just so much slover. turbo charget engines not like if you rew engine too much. I see you rew so much over the shifting lights so is that faster way??
most people only do one lap in quali if im not mistaken due to the battery
The ERS won't deploy unless you're over 80/85%ish throttle. Do your outlaps without going over that and you'll have 100% battery at the end :)

Hello, for the ERS on the outlap, just don't put 100% throttle, even 99% will not trigger the use of the battery ;)
Welcome to the real deal!
You don't necessarily have to go really slow on an outlap just be at about 70-80% throttle and the battery recharges
